“My Mother is Hitlers Sister”

9th of June 2005

At 5:30 in the morning the day of my graduation my mom woke me up and told me the police were at my home and I was going to be arrested. Five police officers and the head Procecutor (Karen Jansen) came into my room and read me my rights. I didn’t quite know what I had to do so I stuck my hands out to be hand-cuffed, but one of the police officers told me I was aloud to brush my teeth and change my clothes first.

One of the officers then advized me to put a towel over my head because there was a lot of media outside, I agreed, was handcuffed and escorted to the police car and brought to the central police station in Oranjestad. All I remember clearly were some flashes of light and telling my mom don’t worry everything will be okay.

I kept the towel on my head all the way to the police station. I was then brought to the back of the station where they have 12 cells and was placed in cell # 1. When the officers left I remember standing there and thinking “what have I got myself into!”.

The cell is a 5 by 5-room with only the gaps between the bars as ventilation. It is completely made out of concrete and only has one hole in the floor for toilitary purposes. I looked threw the bars and could see straight into another cell which was empty. I was still tired and tried to make myslef comfortable on the floor. I don’t remember what time it was but someone nocked on the door and I woke up. A guard had brought me a foam box with rice and chicken in it along with cold cofee.

I took the food and cofee and sat on the floor wondering how to eat the food without a spoon or fork and eventualy I just ate it with my hands. A couple minutes after a man came to my cell with some papers and left. I sat down once again and read the documents. They were my rights brought to me formally on paper and the crimes I was suspected of. (Artiles……)

I tried to stay calm and did some push-ups until I heard the door open again and they told me to come with them. Just as I was leaving two other police officers were escorting Satish to his cell and I looked at him and said don’t worry just stay with your story and they will have to let us go in 10 days.

I thought I was being brought to a interogation room but instead I was transported to the police station in Noord and put in a cell there. Before being put in the cell my pockets were checked and they made me take the shoe laces out of my shoes. I asked them why, and they said its for your own safty. This time I was placed in cell 6 (there were a total of 8 cells). It is so strange how slow time goes in there its sureal. Almost all the cells at this police station were full but you could not see into anyone elses cell.

After about 5 minutes everyone started talking to me and asking me why I was in here. I told them I was arrested in the conection with the Natalee Holloway case. Everyone one was like “really” the guy in cell 3 is in for the same case. I new right away it was iether Abraham Jones or Mickey John because, from the moment Natalee Holloway’s parents showed up at my house on the 2nd of June I have been following the case on the TV and internet and knew they had been the only suspects arested so far.

They quickly asked me what my connection was in the case and I said nothing, me and my friends just dropped her off at her hotel. I lied to my mom, my dad, and all my friends.

At the time everyone was telling stories about how they got here and I just listened, the stories reached from drunken driving, to stealing computers, to posetion of firearms. I quickly figured out just by listening to other people that it the person in cell # 3 was Abraham Jones. He seemed cheerfull and was always singing.

The few times I talked to him he told me about his wife and kids and how much he mised them. He also told me he was innocent and that that night he was not even working he was at a concert with his wife. I felt horible and that night all I did was cry I didn’t know what to say to him.

That afternoon my mom and attorny visited me at the police station (At the time I was 17 and your parents have the right to visit you for 10 minutes a day, which my mom did everyday for the 14 days I was at that police station). They explained to me that my dad was not aloud to visit me and that I had “restrictions”, so basically I was not aloud any contact with the outside world.

I was quite upset that my dad wasn’t aloud to see me but there was nothing I could do about it at the time. My mom had brought some clothes in a bag for me and when I was brought back to my cell I was aloud to take a towel and a change of clothes with me. They took the rest of my stuff and put it in a locker. I remember wishing I could have talked to my mom longer and told her how much I love her.

Back in my cell a guard came by and brought us all a sandwich with cheese and once again some cold cofee. I quickly learned that at 7:00 in the morning and at 7:00 at night they turn on the water for 5 minutes. The water comes from a small hole in the wall and you are supposed to shower. When I saw the water start I jumped up placed my clothes between the bars and quickly washed my face. When they turned off the water I put my towel on the floor and used my clean clothes as a pillow and I tried to sleep. It is so increadibly hot in there I don’t know how people can possibly sleep.

30th of May 2005 (Truth)

Like on every school day, my dad woke me up at 6:15 am and I showered, changed clothes and packed my bag for school. Because my mom was in Holland for my great grandma’s 90th birthday me and my brothers had to take the bus at 6:45 am I got on the bus along with my two brothers and slept threw the hour bus ride to school.

When my mom is on the island me and my brothers ride with her and we don’t have to leave until 7:15. My mom is a Art teacher at the school me and my brothers attend, the International School of Aruba. The bus arrived at school around 7:50 and I attended my first class of the day AP English which starts at 8:00 a.m., then Calculus, then Service (where I give 2nd graders P.E.) and my last class of the day was Government and Economics. School ends at 2:45 p.m. I once again got on the bus and arrived at my house around 4:00 p.m. I walked into the living room and greeted our maid Rita.

I made myslef a sandwhich and went to my room to shower and watch some TV. Around 5:00 p.m I went to my dads work room and called him to remind him I had tennis at 6:00 p.m and he told me he would be home on time to bring me. Then I logged onto my computer updated myslef with soccer standings in Spain, my favorite soccer club is FC Barcelona and talked to some friends on Msn Messenger.

At 6:00 p.m. my dad walked in and said he was ready to bring me to tennis so I quickly changed and took my tennis stuff with me to the Aruba Raquet Club where I go daily to play tennis and go to the gym. My dad dropped me off there around 6:15 p.m. and I wasn’t really in the mood to play tennis so I told my trainer that my ankle was bothering me and that I wanted to take it easy.

I then went to the gym for a while were I saw Koen one of my best friends. I talked to him a while and then called Andre and Guido *Wever?* to ask them if they were going to play the poker tournament at the Whyndham, Guido told me he had to work at the Excelsior Casino till 10:00 pm but that when he finished he would come by and see how I was doing. Andre said he and his dad would be there. I called my dad and asked him if it would be okay to go play the tournament at the Whyndham and that Guido would bring me home, he said it was okay.

I changed my shoes for slippers *for those who don't know, slipper=flipflops* and walked from the raquet club the the Whyndham all along the beach. I got to the windham around 6:45 p.m and since the tournament doesn’t start until 7:00 p.m. I decided to play blackjack a while at the Aruba Grand casino because I know all the dealers there very well.

I came in there with 20$ and after playing 15 minutes I still had the same 20$ so I decided to hurry up and sign myslef up for the poker tournament. I did not have time to cash out my chips so I just put them in my pocket and left. I got to the Whyndham at about 7:05 and I saw Andre, so together we signed up for the tournament. The tournament started at about 7:15 and I was seated at the table farthest to the back of the poker room.

After about 10 minutes I went all in on pocket jacks and lost to an Ace, Queen suited when one of the other players flopped a flush. I bought back in but after another 10 to 15 minutes I had an Ace, King off-suit and lost to pocket Jacks, knowing luck probaly wasn’t on my side tonight I got up and went to Andre to see how he was doing. He was doing okay but there were some guys on his table that outchipped him by a lot so I knew he wouldn’t last.

I told Andre I would wait for him in the Casino. As I walked out of the Poker Room I saw Guido and he came over to meet me. He asked how I was doing and I said that I allready lost. He then asked if I wanted to go to the Radisson to play cash games and I said sure but that I just need to pick up money at my house.

So first Guido and I left the Whyndham and drove to my house in his white Nissan Sentra and I quickly went to my room to get some money. I then told Guido I still had chips from the Aruba Grand so we went there to cash-out my chips. When we got there however again there was a long line so I decided just to play my chips and Guido wanted to play roulette so we went to the roulette table.

I put a 5 dollar chip on number 9 and one on double zero. The dealer spun the wheel and what do you know 9 comes out so I immediately went to cash out the 180 dollars I won, plus the 20 dollars I had with me from earlier and me and guido went to the Radisson casino.

When we got to the Radisson it was probaly 11:00 pm and the Poker Room was quite busy. Me and guido could not even get a spot at the same table. I sat down bought in for 100 dollars. Andre called me to ask where I was, I told him I was at the Radisson and he said he was coming. I did great for about an hour probaly going up 500 dollars and then Deepak called me and asked me where I was. I told him I was at the Radisson and he said he was coming and he quickly closed the phone. It must have been 12:30 and I thought it was kind of strange but it didn’t bother me much so I continued playing.

Andre arived and right after that Deepak, they stood at the railing looking at the action. I knew one of the players at the table and was constantly talking to him and laughing at him because he was drunk. Then out of the blue because we were talking one of the tourists accused us of cheating. After loosing about 200 dollars I decided to call it a night and cashed out my chips. Deepak then asked me if I wanted to go play black jack a while in town, I said no but if you want we can play a while at the Whyndham. He said sure so we left in his grey honda civic from the Radisson parking lot to the Whyndham, Andre said that Guido would bring him home.

Just before arriving at the Whyndham my dad called me. I thought he was going to be cursing at me for being late but instead he asked me where I was and when I said the Whyndham he said there are people here at the house asking about a missing girl and claming you were with her last night. I told my dad we would come right home and this is where the lying started.

I told Deepak that my dad called about a missing girl and both of us were like “shit” that’s the girl from last night. I told Deepak we can’t say I was with her last at the beach, and Deepak said I was right. I then suggested we say we dropped her off at the hotel and Deepak agreed saying there were no cameras in the lobby so no one would ever know the difference.

Deepak quickly called his brother and told him what was happening and asked if they had been to there house yet since it was Deepak’s car and I had no idea why they would come to my house first instead of Deepak and Satish’s house. Satish said that no one had been there yet but that if the police came that he would say we dropped Natalee of at the hotel.

Then the question everybody who is reading this must have asked themselves at least a dozen times is why lie? Why lie at that time? Well I have a simple answer for you, I was scared. Scared that something bad might of happened, scared that my girlfriend at the time would find out I went out with a different girl, just plain scared. Deepak and I drove striaght to my house but no one was there. So we got out of the car and I called my dad. He said they were on there way to the Whyndham, I told him I was at home and he told me to stay there. After a couple of minutes the neigbor came outside and asked if we could turn down the volume in the car. I did and just then about 4 cars arived with what must have been at least 10 people.

One of the cars was a police car and my dad stepped out and came to me. The first thing one of gentelmen in the group did was attack me and Deepak by screaming where is Natalee what did you do with her? A woman then showed me a picture of Natalee and asked me if that was the girl I was with last night and I said yes (however at the time I did not even know her name). Another gentelmen then screamed where is she! When I said I don’t know, he said stop lying.

Another woman claiming she was an FBI agent said I was in big trouble and that they have me on video tape in the Excelsior casino lying to Natalee about me being 18, which may have been true, and I have absolutly no idea how she new what my real age was. She then told me that at the Whyndham hotel someone had reconized Natalee and had said she was just there with a tall Dutch boy.

I then turned to the group and asked who her father was and one gentelmen said it was him, I asked him to step away because he might not like what I was going to say, and he did so. I told the rest of the group that I had met Natalee in the Casino and that she had asked me to go out with her to Carlos and Charlies on Sunday May the 29th. I told them we left around closing time at 1:30 a.m. and that I had made out with and fingered Natalee in Deepak’s car, that we had drove to the lighthouse and that we had then dropped her off at the Holiday Inn lobby.

One of the other gentlemen went to Deepak and said “listen here you fucking punk” where is she. Then my dad stepped in and said to the Aruban police who were literally in the background that they have to take some action and that these people here are totally out of there jurisdiction.

The police told Natalee’s family that they had to go to the police station and fill out a missing persons report, but someone suggested going to the Holliday Inn and even though my dad did not want to go I said I would come along and try to help.

Deepak my dad and I then got in the police car and we drove to the police station in Noord where the police officers asked the officer in charge what they should do. The Officer did not have a problem with us going to the Holliday Inn and we got in the police car and drove to the Hotel.

During the drive to the Holliday Inn we talked to the local police officers and they were kind, one of them said he even knew me. We all shared the same reaction, she probally ran away with some beach bum and she will turn up soon enough.

When we got to the hotel it was already close to 4:00 a.m. and Natalee’s whole family was already there asking people if they had seen Natalee. Charles Croes a man that was with the family then came to me and introduced himslef in papiamento (the local language on the island).

We talked for a while in papiamento and he told me I was in a lot of trouble, and he pointed to a car where Beth Twitty was sitting in the back holding a picture of her daughter. I went to the car and tried to talk with Beth but all she said was you know where my daughter is, get away!

I then turned my attention to Deepak and my dad who were talking to the rest of the group in the lobby. A large man then approached me and said he was Agent Smitt from the US Embassy. He asked me to tell him exactly what happened that night and I told him that Natalee had asked me to go to Carlos and Charlies with her and that it was her last night.

I also told him that at carlos and charlies she was yelling for me to come and dance with her but that I rejected her and went to the bar to buy a drink for me and my friends, and that at one point she came grabbed my hand and took me to the bar to take jellyshots out of her bellybuton.

I then told him that at closing time Natalee asked if she could leave with us and I said sure. After having a short relationship with her, we dropped her off at her hotel in front of the lobby.

Agent Smitt then took down some notes and one of the local police officers asked if he could talk to him. Smitt agreed and together they walked away from the group.

After standing alone a while I saw my dad, Deepak and the woman claiming to be an FBI agent talking to the hotel manager and I walked up to them. The woman was yelling at the hotel manager and screaming don’t you have any video cameras here? I saw a video camera at the hotel lobby desk and said there is one, evryone looked at the camera but the Hotel manager quickly cut us short and said that the camera was not working and that even if it was working it only has sight on the front desk.

It was probaly close to 5:00 am already and my dad said we really had to leave since I had school the next day. Before leaving the family asked us one more time to explain what happened, and Deepak jumped in by saying that when we dropped her off at the lobby there was a security guard dressed in black with a wakie-talkie that walked up to Natalee as she was aproaching the lobby.

Natalee’s family then asked me if I to had seen the security guard, and not wanting to get anyone in trouble I said no I did not see anyone but if Deepak says there was a security guard then there was one.

Charles Croes then gave me his phone number and said if I remember anything to please call him. Agent Smitt and the local police officer returned they shook hands and Deepak, my dad, and I stepped in the Police car. On the drive back to my house the officer that had spoken to Agent Smitt said that he had told him that the girl was probaly a run away and that she will probaly turn up in a day or two. He also told us that Agent Smitt had told him she was from a wealthy family.

Arriving at my house I said bye to Deepak and he left in his car and me and my dad walked to my room. I was obviously very tired but my dad insisted I go to school so I decided it was better not to go to sleep and just get ready for school since it was 5:30 a.m. allready. I got dressed and packed my bag for school.

Today the first part of our cantine came. The cantine system in the K.I.A basically works like a supermarket, every 14 days every inmate recieves two lists, one for fruit and one for food and other ietems. The ietems get sold to us at supermarket prices and our bought threw a bank system where any family members or friends can leave money on your name which you can then use to phone people or to buy things off the catine lists. The lists are handed out every other Wednesday and are collected on Friday. On Monday your cantine arives and you can receive whatever you had bought. You can buy basically anything you want or can afford. All the people in the jail told me to protect my cantine when I receive it, but the first time I got my cantine I left to go outside and play soccer and when I came back my milk, juice, and chips were stolen

3 July 2005

I think the investigators here are assholes! Today they took me to the beach so that I could show where I had been with Natalee. Instead of doing it at night so that the situation might have been simular to the one of May the 30th they take me on a Sunday at 2:00 pm, to probaly the busyest beach area on Aruba just so that all the camera crews can get some good video foodage and that people can think they are doing there job.

I had to walk between all the tourists from the area where Deepak and Satish Droped me off, to the area where Satish picked me up. During the walk tourists jumped up from their beach chairs and people ran to their hotel rooms to grab their digital cameras.

In no time their were camera crews everywhere and tourists coming by every second to take a picture. Some people were talking amongst themselves and I heard some people saying “Hey theres the guy that killed Natalee!”. One woman even had the nerve to take out her camera phone stand in front of me and ask me to stop walking so she could take a picture.

It almost killed me the way people think about me because of all the medias lyies and made up stories. I mean I know all my family and friends believe in me, but if I were at home and I say all this media hype around a guy I didn’t know and heard all the lies they were telling I would probaly think that the guy did something bad I mean your suppose to trust the TV and radio news stations to give you accurate information aren’t you?

Well I know one thing for sure, I am never believing another thing I see on TV. I am just so happy that there are so many people that do believe in me. While on the beach, one family came up to me and said we believe in you, just keep faith in God and everything will be okay. I almost had to cry.

When they took me back to the police station they intergated me once again and asked me if I knew what a lie detector test was and if I had a problem taking on. I told them I have no problem at all taking one and they said okay.

Today was the first day in jail that I actually got the paper and pens that I bought to write down my thoughts and feelings as well as write letters to family, friends and loved ones.

In the K.I.A whenever you want to send something or receive something via mail it goes through a sensor that reads everything and if the content in the mail is okay then they send it to you. This process usually takes weeks and is probally the reason why I only got nice mail instead of death threats and sick letters.

Today I have been in here 26 days (12 days at the cell in Noord and 14 here at the K.I.A). I went in front of the judge this morning and he gave me 60 more days which I think is rediculus, but what can I do, I have nothing to say in the matter, the judge decides.

The only good news I got is that my now my lawyer has to be present during the questioning and for me that is a big relieve because the pressure put on me sometimes is unbearble. Sometimes I get questioned for 10 hours straight and I know that with my lawyer present it will be much easier to not say a word to them anymore.

I promised my mom and dad yesterday that from now on I am not cooperating with them anymore because all they are trying to do is hang me. I have told the same story more than 15 times and I’m sick of it, they are just trying to make my declerations differ from one another so that it looks like I’m lying.

I’m angry, sad and tired all at the same time and in a way hurt because I know it must have broken my moms heart to hear that I have to be in this place for 60 more days. I think we all expected that I would go home today and from my view I thought the court case went very well. I miss my family, friends and of course my freedom increadibly! If I have one advice to you it is to cherish your freedom because you never know when it might be taken away from you.

Every place the security gaurds or police investigators take me I see camera crews from CNN, Fox News, ABC, NBC, and of course all the local stations. In a way it scares me and I don’t know how to react.

Today on the way back from the hearing I heard on the radio that a girl a girl was killed in Tabago, she was fourteen years old and an American tourist. I wonder if the media is going to fly over there and make a big story about that case, but since she was black they probaly will not.

I myself still feel very strongly that Natalee is alive, I mean I have seen so many declerations of people saying they swear on their life that they saw Natalee after May the 30th.

There are two statements from people working at a restaurnat that say they saw Natalee eating at a restaurant with two other men on May the 31st, as well as a statement from a security guard at the Holiday Inn that says that he saw Natalee the morning of the 31st sitting in a chair at the lobby.

I think those statements should be taken seriously but then again they might not be true, yesterday the police also told me that there are 3 staments from fisherman that say they were around the area where me and Natalee where but that they didn’t see anyone there at anytime during the morning hours.

I mean there isn’t one shread of evidence to show she isn’t alive and I think she must have found a way to leave the island. I still feel so horrible that I didn’t get to go home today, I feelt that judge Smitt believed me and Karen Jansen the prosicutor did a horrible job in the court room not bringing a shread of evidence before the Judge which she will never be able to do because I have nothing to do with Natalee’s disaperance.

She was basiclly only speculating herself, repeating “but he lied!”, and making up her own stories about what could have happened and what she thinks happend.

It’s a misarable feeling to know that if only I had stayed home that night all this might not have happened, and it would have definitly not happened to me! However it did, and I made the biggest mistake of my life, I was an asshole and I should have made sure she got back to her hotel room safely.

My head is full of mixed up emotions because I don’t know if I have to be angry, sad, laughing or crying. I just don’t know how to act anymore. I know the fact remains that I am the last person to admitt being with Natalee and I pray to god everyday that she did not go for a swim after I had left her at the beach but then they would have found her by now. That area is always full of tourists and the current is towards the beach so if she would have drowned her body would have come to shore.

It is basiclly imposible that something bad happened to her. Also they way she was talking to me when I was with her doesn’t suggest in the slightest bit that she would want to kill herself or do something bad to herself. I think that she is alive and I hope to god that they find her soon for her parents sake and my families sake.

26th September 2005

Today was another sad day. In almost every news paper in the states it stated “Joran van der Sloot admitts to Lying”. I thought everyone knew that allready, but anyway Beth Twitty was on Fox News again saying that Deepak admitted we all had sex with Natalee, and that I admitted having sex in my apartment. I don’t understand one thing, I never admitted having sex with Natalee and it was obvious Deepak’s interview which he did not know about was tampered with.

AMIGOE.COM USES PROPAGANDA AND VICTIMIZES FAMILIES

While searching for information in the cases of those missing on Aruba, I come across all kinds of information. Some real and some totally FABRICATED.

Recently I came across a piece of info that I had somehow forgotten about. Amigoe.com got itself involved in the purposeful spreading of dis-information.

A 14-year-old boy was "lost at sea" in Aruba a year ago. No body was recovered. Amigoe.com now reports that there was a siting of the boy in Brazil.

" The hotel employee has again confirmed to the Amigoe today that the police had informed the hotel that Max de Vries is probably alive. The boy is supposedly in Brazil. The American Insurance Company had asked the Aruban police for more information. "

Apparently that link no longer works, but I remembered the story as if it was yesterday. The Story originally ran in the online version of Amigoe.com and was used as a piece of propaganda to reach the intended audience in America.

Several questions immediately leap to mind.

1. Why is Amigoe.com using Hotel Workers as investigative sources? Are they not part of the AHATA? Hardly seems like a reliable source for a missing person.

2. This story ran on or about 7-14-2005. Why did Aruban Authorities feel it was important to distance themselves from the Max DeVries incident? Questions were now being asked about others missing on Aruba and the response from the Aruban Authorities was hardly reassuring. This could spiral out of control fast. They decided to begin to blame the VICTIMS for their own MISFORTUNE, otherwise known as CRIMINAL ACTS.

3. In an effort to make it appear that the story is REAL, the story implies that the Aruban Law Enforcement are actively pursuing information requested by an American Insurance Company. Why? This one is easy to answer. They shift the blame to someone other than themselves.

4. Who initiated this piece of PROGAGANDA? Prime Minister Nelson Oduber. He controls all communications on Aruba. When you control all communications, the BUCK STOPS THERE. He has no choice but to hold the ultimate responsibility even if others acted without his knowledge.

5. What was the story's ultimate purpose? The purpose is easily identified. It is again to make it appear as if Aruba did all it could to get a conclusion to Max's case even though they did nothing and in fact obfuscated the ISSUES.

6. According to the Aruban Authorities, Max was 'lost' in a tragic accident. Why the need to add this malicious act? Only on Aruba could someone come up with this 'extra' bit of pain already heaped on a grieving Family. Truly Heartless.

Apparently this piece got the attention of everyone on the NET, and got people talking about things other than Natalee Holloway.

SCUBAJAP Helps Out -

Re: the Max De Vries story-
This broke just around the time the brothers were released from jail, and had people thinking along different lines.
Max de Vries was not alone when he went out on a jet ski, he was with a family friend David Stacy, 56. Max's father had died 14 months before, and it could have been Mom's boyfriend, but I think that was kind of quick, so I don't know.
David Stacy reported that Max's jet ski stalled, and when he went to help Max, his stalled too.
David then claimed the jet ski's capsized and the two hung on. Max eventually tired, fell away and drifted off. Search and Rescue found David Stacy hanging on to the Jet skis I don't know how many hours later. Max could not be found.
Now supposedly, but this is rumor as far as I have been able to see, I haven't found anything to confirm it on the net anywhere,
David was arrested in the states on suspicion of murder because there was a very big life insurance policy on Max. Then it turns out that they brought the boy out of hiding in Brazil because it was all an insurance scam.
I was told by someone that they saw it being reported on CNN, I have not been able to find any reference to it anywhere, but maybe some of you have more time and experience with that.
This got a few people here thinking, but the police tell me there are no big insurance policies on Natalee.

Paying it forward: The mother of Max is an Angel that God has given very dificult trials. She lost her husband, then 6 months later her son. Max de Vries broke the heart of Aruba and HE WAS the largest and most extensive and expensive search Aruba had ever done! WE started looking for Max within 45 minutes of his disapearance. The Aruba Search and Rescue Team together with a helicopter searched ALL NIGHT long, risking thier lives at night in the rough sea. The Royal Dutch Marines joined in, their Helecopter, and a Helicopter from Curacao came in to search. He rented a wave runner with a man his mother met at the pool at La Cabana. Aruba did every possible to find Max, but the currents swept him away. The man who sign responsibility for Max on the waverunner swam to shore in a different direction of Max. NEITHER fell off, they decided to swim in even after receiving instructions to NEVER LEAVE YOUR VESSLE - he signed the waver. His waverunner was found within 1/2 hour. You cannot blame Aruba! Aruba will always remember Max!

Michigan Mom gets it right and is not confused about what Aruba is REALLY all about.

This young man was lost in Aruba in the spring of 2004. The mother still has no clear answer as to what happened to Max. No death certificate, no police report, and no help from the US or Aruban government. He went out on a jet ski with someone from the hotel that they were at, and never came back. Lost at sea.

Aruba goes to the furthest reaches of lying to screw Families and VICTIMS. The Aruban Authorities spread the teachings of Joseph Goebbell's in a horrible attempt to hang on to the American Dollars all the while slandering the VICTIMS and their Family Members. Truly shameful.

With 'newspapers' like Amigoe.com, Bondia.com and Aruba Today to do the DIRTY work of those in POWER it is easy to understand how and why the population of Aruba does not hold anyone accountable for the terrible set of circumstances they find themselves in currently. Only the Diario is not afraid to tell the TRUTH.

The Namdar-case involves both Aruba and Curacao. It appears from leaked out e-mails that the American diamond dealer and businessman Effy Namdar has offered the Aruban government party MEP one million florins in bribery. It appears from correspondence that refers to the Tourist Minister of Curacao in May 2006, that also the Curacao commissioner Ivan Strick (Finance and Tourism, FOL) and possibly also the former Tourism-commissioner Gerrit Schotte (MPK then, MAN now, have been in contact with Namdar.

In the meantime, also the following politicians are involved in the matter: Governor Fredis Refunjol, former MEP-minister, Tourism-minister Edison Briesen (MEP), former minister Glenbert Croes (OLA), who most likely plays a part with regard to Curacao.
Lampe wants an international investigation, considering all these names from several countries involved in the matter. “These are serious accusations. It’s about bribery and attempts to bribery. There are UN-treaties against bribery. It is therefore best that all the countries in question join forces and have this case thoroughly investigated”, said Lampe who was an active priest before.

A VERY FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY VACATIONER

I want to clear things up a bit from my last posting. I was very tired and had just gotten home when I posted.

The robbery happened Thursday night shortly after midnight. We were staying in the Villa Alexandra. We flew home on Friday afternoon on Delta. Half of our group was awake. Three adults and all 6 kids were sleeping.

6 of us adults were enjoying our last night with a few cocktails and listening to the basketball games. We were sitting on the veranda with all the outside lights on. The lights in the pool were even still on, since we let the kids stay up until 10 pm swimming. When one of the adults, who had two kids sleeping in their room, right below the veranda, was awakened by someone grabbing their belongings from off the nightstand next to the bed she was sleeping in. The person bolted out of the room. She was stunned and probably in shock and didn't make it to the door to yell for help until he had been gone for a full minute. Once he ran he headed north toward the pubic beach. Two of us guys headed the same direction down the beach. One of us headed up the driveway and then down the street to the beach.

When running down the street a white pick up flashed past and turned into the parking lot for the beach. With in seconds it turned around and headed back toward the high rise area. As it pasted our guy it turned on the high beams in his face. As soon as it pasted him by it shut off it's lights until it was out of sight.

When us three guys got back to the house we were informed that the other bedroom had also been roobed. The police were called by the time any of us guys made it off the property. They took almost a full hour to show up. They did nothing more than take our statements and tell us to pick up a copy of the report in the morning. There were 4 officers in all two never entered the house and stayed in the driveway talking to a couple of us guys. They stayed around for a total of 20 to 30 minutes.

When we picked up our copy of the report it was incorrect and didn't have all the items that were taken on it. We were told it could not be changed even if it was not complete. It felt like since they knew we were leaving in a few hours that they really just didn't care.

The biggest problem I have is the boldness of the whole thing. This all happened while we were awake and clearly visable. Walking into a rooom where people are sleeping takes a big set. Crime happens everywhere we all know that, that isn't my complaint. It was the lack of response and a general lack of police presents on the island. We take a trip with the whole family every other year and are always careful to lock everything up. Never thought we would need to lock the bedroom door when one adult is still up and only 6 feet away from it. We have done this on many trips. We do this at home when sitting on the deck in the back yard, Front door locked back door open. This was not an issue of us not being careful.

Now the issue I have with a few of you on this message board is why do people go straight to "it's a made up story"? I thought it was set up to share info. I got some great info from this board. When I posted a very scary, very real problem on the island that I experienced first hand I get attacked and pretty much called a liar.

Come on people there is no perfect place on earth. There might be places that some of us think are close. Sorry I just don't think Aruba is one of them. This was a very bad situation. Think if the robber had gone into a room where your kids were sleeping with your wife, while you were sitting directly above them, and took your jewlery, wallet, laptop, etc.

I was planning on posting our trip report about all the great things we did. Because we did have a lot of fun and enjoyed a number of things. I just wanted to let everyone know safety is an issue on this island. After some of you atacked me, I'm not sure I will ever post here again. To those of you who gave me some great info thank you very much. To those negitive people sorry you have nothing better to do then attack others.

Son Valentijn did not welcome the arrival of me, a journalist. "Dad, haven't you got better things to do on a Sunday afternoon, because there is a chance that you will say things you are going to regret or that everything is going to be twisted and turned around again", that was what Valentijn had just said to his father Paul van der Sloot in a very parentally protective way.

And yes, he too had doubted until the last moment whether or not he should call and cancel. On that internal discussion, that dilemma, he falls back regularly. What to do? Do they as a family try, as normally as possible and far away from the media, to get on with their lives? Or should they speak out? "Perhaps, just perhaps" reasons Van der Sloot sr. as to why he had not canceled, "maybe something positive will come out of all the negative. Maybe people going through something like this themselves will learn from our experiences because crisis-situations are very alike".

But the crisis situation in which the van der Sloot family is in since the Natalee Holloway mysteriously disappeared on May 30th of 2005, is truly very bizarre indeed. The American girl was celebrating a graduation party with her fellow student on "One Happy Island". Van der Sloot was subsequently held for three days on the police station, his son was in jail until early September, because of suspicion of involvement in the disappearance of the American girl.

Now it is quiet around the bungalow in Montana. The sons Valentijn (17) and Sebastian (12) are with friends. Van der Sloots wife Anita is in the Netherlands to support Joran, who is suffering from mono (Mononucleosis), with the release of his book that is due out in April. We too are writing some things down. If you write things down, you have to deal with it it and that is something that we are hard at work to do. You think that writing things down will give it a place. It is difficult get closure on something like this. I hope that the final verdict in the lawsuit for compensation will be something like closure for me.

That is possible now: last week the judge ruled that Paul van der Sloot was indeed held without justification, but he did not award him any compensation for it.

Wouldn't it have been better to release just one book, with all of your stories in it?

"Yes, that would have been something that I would have preferred, but Joran was already in contact with the publisher. He doesn't sugarcoat his actions in the book. It is good that he is doing this, but it also comes with lots of tension for him. For example, How will people react to it? Can he get his message across?"

But that is nothing compared to the fear and the tension of when Joran was arrested.

"All those weeks I was very calm. (??? Calm? Hmmm... What about your excessive sweating? I highly doubt that one, Paul...) You move above the situation so to speak. The situation itself was so bizarre. Almost like being in trance, a sort of state meditation. You keep being able to organize things, and it was indeed very important during that time to be there for each other and to organize things". (To organize a conspiracy, that is...)

How was it to be confined to your house due to a horde of media representatives that had posted themselves outside of your front-door?

"I had been at home from the beginning, I was unable to continue my legal work at the courthouse. With the president of the Court I had agreed that I would take a leave of absence to make sure there was not even the appearance of conflict of interest. (An appearance of conflict of interest? Are you kidding me? This guy needs to quit smoking crack...) Anita did not miss a day of schoolwork at the school she works on. (Of course she didn't because she didn't kill Natalee!) Everyday we went to Joran at the police. A lot of support came from the people where we live, from acquaintances and friends. They tried to shield us from the media-assault. Valentijn and Sebastian went to friends in the States. (Nice refuge for your children...I hope you don't send your sons here anymore. They are not safe...and that's not MY threat. It's hundreds of others!) There they were safely taken in and protected from everything. We had tried from the beginning to always look on the positive side of things. (Like that Beth Twitty would go away? That we, the people, would go away? I don't think so...) The family bond grew stronger and stronger".

Are you filled with feelings of animosity towards the media, the big American stations and the journalists who followed every move you made?

"No, it is more that we wonder: how could this have happened? (Joran is thinking the same thing! "How could this have happened? I did it like 20 times before and nothing went wrong!") And especially sadness and feelings of anger. The journalists we came into contact with, all had their own agendas. They were out for the easy story and failed to do any research". (How about the Aruban police FAILING to do their own research???)

"Especially when Joran got out, it became intense. He, even though we had advised him not to, did not avoid the media. (That is because he is a SOCIOPATH.) He did not really do badly with the interviews, (are you kidding me???) but then it was put through a spin cycle that the end result did not reflect what was said." (That is because his web of lies were completely TRANSPARENT!)

"We had also not realized that it was a hype in the Netherlands too. We were startled by the fact that we were met by a horde of journalists when we arrived at Schiphol. Even now strange things happen. Peter R. de Vries stood on the doorstep of the house without any notification. You are being treated like public property. The media are trying to create an image of good and evil. You see yourself back through the eyes of the media and they portray you a person that is nothing like you. Most people realize that and see through it, others are not able to fully do that and they see that image at least as partly real. It is very difficult to stay authentic." (Rather, you mean it's difficult to be HONEST?)

On the internet you have been completely dissected.. Dozens of pictures of Joran and your entire family. All kinds of details of his and your life. (Sorry to disappoint you Paulus, but Joran already had his PIMP life all laid out on the net before Natalee came along...)

"The internet is a source of information, but also a gutter. Anything is possible, everything is allowed. And the media are open to it, they use things from it. First you are shocked and feel powerless. But is all belongs to this false reality we have rolled into". (YOU are talking about FALSE REALITY? Oh my god...please excuse me while I vomit...)

There were more players in the Holloway case than the media. The Public Prosecution office, the Aruban government and Natalee's parents. (Don't forget YOU and all your co-conspirators and BEST friends!)

The public prosecutions office had a complete tunnel vision and become totally frustrated. The ease with which Joran was badmouthed! The ease with which police officers kept making comments! Police Chief Dompig who goes around saying: ‘The boys are as guilty as hell’. Words that were easily lapped up by the hungry media. Friends of Joran were arrested for no other reason then being a friend of Joran. That of all things hurt me most. In the beginning Joran was not questioned enough, only a few times. If the police had pressed on at that time, Joran would have told the real story much sooner". (So, is that why he sat there covering his ears and singing loudly? Is that why he sat there like a pompous asshole while he was questioned? Smiling and lying?)

"The police was busy with the media, the prosecution office had completely lost the plot. In the beginning I had pleaded with the police to question Joran, to make sure no details would get lost. (Or is it, "to make sure no details got OUT?") It is startling that the Prosecution Office completely lost control of the handing the investigation. (I find it startling that the prosecution didn't even HAVE CONTROL of the investigation!!!) The Prosecution Office's image had become more important than the case itself. Especially Joran's life was very interesting and all kinds of things were completely thrown onto the streets". (Sorry...I don't see the life of a date rapist and one who drugs innocent women as an 'interesting life'...unless one is a psychopath.)

Also by Natalee's parents?

"The first thing that you want to do is give support to the parents. However you look at it, Joran left their daughter on the beach, and for that we feel responsible. (Why would you feel responsible if you are INNOCENT?) A contact like that has not taken place, even though one could have been there for each other. We would have so much wanted to support them. But it was made impossible for us. They got the media involved the very first evening".

"In the end they too got caught in the media web. We really tried to get in touch with them, but they were absolutely not interested in that. They frustrated the investigation (Ummm...I think laying the blame on the victim's parents doesn't impede an investigation. You are just placing the blame on the people who were WRONGED and LIED to!!!) and have been very unfair to Joran and the entire island. (BOO HOO!) As parents of a missing child you get a lot of leeway, but they needlessly hurt a lot of people. And that too, will not bring back their daughter." (Your pity party doesn't sway ANYONE, ok? Your son and his friends NEEDLESSLY hurt a lot of people as well...so did you! And don't forget it!!!)

Still the case keeps surrounded by something. What exactly happened on that beach? Her disappearance remains a mystery.

"As long as it is not exactly clear what happened to her, the case is not done. Joran didn't immediately come out with the real story. (Any why is that? One who is not a liar does not LIE...if he had nothing to hide he would have never LIED!) That is something he now really regrets. (Oh, I'm sure he does! I'm sure he regrets that he didn't come up with a different story...or maybe he regrets that he didn't get rid of Deepak and Satish like he claimed he wanted to!) That he did this is explainable by the fact that Natalee family came on strong towards him from the get go, but it was wrong, and inexcusable. The dutch police is looking at the case now as a 'cold case'. I expect the Prosecution Office will close the dossier in June. But somehow I hope that an independent spirit is still looking into this case and that he will solve the case". (A MURDER does not hold a statute of limitations, Paulus...)

Joran has become a famous (infamous maybe? Along the lines of Scott Peterson...) citizen of the world. Someone googling his name on the net will get 100,000 'hits'. Has that made him feel important? (Oh I'm sure he LOVES it...why else would he write a book and give endless interviews and smile for the camera?)

"Joran wants to live a normal life as a student. But the whole case did have an enormous impact on him. On all kinds of aspects of his life. The normal conflicts you have as a parent of a seventeen year old teen have been made impossible. We think it would be a good thing if he would take a year off and go to Africa to be a volunteer. Then he can truly life anonymously. He, like many other young people in the world, does not know what real poverty is. He can find out what that is in the developing world." (He doesn't know what prison is like either...can he experience that? Becoming a prison bitch would definitely put him in his place and perspective.)

"What hurts a lot has been the character assassination of Joran. All his teenage secrets (SECRETS? They were ALL OVER THE NET before this happened!) were blown out of all proportions and used to from a certain image. But on the whole, he is doing well. He is incredibly strong. He wants to keep studying and has built up a new social life for him. He was really well received by everyone at the school in Arnhem. On that school there are people who did not let the media frenzy influence them and who were willing to give Joran a chance without any hesitation. On the first day of school Joran told his story in class. (My name is Joran...boo hoo...poor me.) Once they tried to get him in the Netherlands. That was our worst fear, that this media frenzy would lead to attacks on him by someone that was mentally unstable. Luckily it did not go any further than some pushing and pulling. (Don't stop looking behind your shoulder JORAN...)

And the father, how is it for him to get back to his life on Aruba?

"When this happened I was in the middle of a change. In 2004-2005 I had been working in Den Bosch as a judge in training for civil court. I had worked very hard there and had learned a lot, but when the end of my training period loomed, I got the feeling that I was not yet ready for being a judge. I have now been working in a small lawyer firm for about a year. (How is your new job NOT a conflict of interest? Working for your son's attorney?) I feel at home there. As a lawyer you are almost like a life-line for the people and I can relate to that, I have experienced how it is on their side."

"I mostly do corporate cases and mediation, but also criminal and civil cases. I have had the experience to see all sides of the legal world. Government, Public Prosecution office, judge and I have also been a suspect. Because of that completely absurd and illogical behavior of the Public Prosecution office, I have had fears for a while at least. Fears like: "Maybe the fools will come and arrest me, Anita or one of the children again". (Fool? Takes one to know one...)

Regardless of everything that has happened, does your future still lie on Aruba?

"We feel a connection to Aruba. We have immediately tried to get on with our life here and to not let us get sidetracked by it. So far we have been doing pretty good on that front. A few times I have had to fend off an annoying American from getting to us. (Those "annoying Americans" are the ones that pay your bills, Paulus...you seem to forget how Aruba makes money. Not only by all their illegal activities, but obviously tourism.) A lot of Arubans support us. (Do they STILL support you, Paulus? After all you and your family did to tarnish the island?) Many Arubans live very pure, have their own life-wisdoms and do not get mislead by the media. Aruba is a tight community with a great feeling of togetherness. In that way all of this negativity that gets heaped on oneself, at some point becomes the starting point for beautiful new experiences."

Why did the Aruban investigators not follow up on such incriminating statements in their future interrogations of the three suspects? The gold mine of information included in that conversation was never tapped by law enforcement. It is interesting to note that segments of the conversation pointed to Joran’s father, Paulus Van Der Sloot, as having involvement in Natalee’s disappearance - yet questions about this suspect were ignored in all but the very earliest of police interviews. Could this be because Paulus Van Der Sloot was being protected by his close friend and lead investigator Jan van der Straten who just happened to be spearheading the case?

DUTCH JUDGES RELEASE SUSPECTS FROM GIVING FURTHER TESTIMONY

The Dutch judges from Curacao also share culpability in ignoring these statements by the three suspects. One in particular was Judge Robert “Bob” Smid who is reported to be a friend of Paulus Van Der Sloot, and had even stayed at his home while visiting the island. On August 30, 2005 Judge Smid issued a ruling that Joran should be held another 30 days, flew back to Curacao and immediately faxed in a reversal of his ruling. Two and a half weeks later Joran Van Der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers were all released from giving further testimony in the case.

On September 3, 2005 Joran Van der Sloot was released from police custody and fled to Holland. Drawing on an obscure Dutch judgement in another case, the judge ruled that Joran’s schoolwork was apparently more important than giving any further testimony in the Natalee Holloway case, even though he and the Kalpoe brothers disagree on key points about what happened the night Natalee disappeared.

DID THE ARUBAN POLICE AND DUTCH JUDGES REALLY WANT THIS CASE SOLVED?

Judging by their actions, neither the Aruban police or the Dutch judges cared enough about the victim, Natalee Holloway, to dig any further into the case. The three main suspects’ statements in the police van clearly indicate they have knowledge of what happened to the Alabama teenager, yet the law enforcement and judicial arms of Aruba’s government turned a blind eye to their criminality in the case.

In the early weeks of this case the Aruban government sent out media representatives such as Arlene Ellis-Schippers to explain that Dutch law is different from American law. Is it common in Dutch law to ignore incriminating statements made by key suspects? Is it common in Dutch law for judges to release key suspects to flee the country and never have to testify again? If so, you have to wonder if any visitor is safe on Dutch soil.

SEGMENTS OF THE POLICE VAN TAPES:

In this part of the conversation Deepak is urging Joran to tell the truth, saying he could straighten everything out by telling the truth. Note that Joran doesn't argue with this.

D says to J: You can straighten everything out in one shot, you know

J says to D: Why?

J says to D: You can straighten things out too

J says to D: Straighten things out how?

D says to J: You have to tell the truth.

Here the three suspects are pointing fingers at each other, threatening to expose each other’s involvement in the crime. Are they implying that Joran got himself into this trouble? Were they merely assisting him?

J says to S or D: Police told me about you now, if you go against me then that’s when I will go against you.

Brothers laugh: Heheheheheh

S says to J: We didn’t put you in this problem.

Here Joran says that he will laugh if they find Natalee alive. Does this imply that she is deceased, or will be by the time they find her?

J says to D: And I’ll laugh if they find the girl alive, f*** you.

In this portion the three suspects indicate that something bad happened to Natalee. Why wasn't this finger-pointing followed up on by the Aruban and Dutch interrogators?

J says to the brothers: I know very well that you’re scared.

J says to the brothers: If you did something bad to the girl, then we will see.

S says to J: I’m not scared.

S says to J: What do I have to be scared about?

D says to J: I want them to find the girl.

In this segment Deepak accuses Joran of telling the police that he (Deepak) buried Natalee at the Fisherman’s Huts. Joran denies telling the police this, despite the fact there is a police statement purporting this very accusation.

D says to J: You’re going to say shit about me in regards to the girl, that I buried the girl at the Fisherman’s Hut.

J says to D: Who said anything about a burial, I didn’t say anything about a burial.

D says to J: You declared that.

D says to J: Stop with the bullshit.

J says to D: I didn’t say anything about a burial.

In the part of the transcript Joran indicates that if the police find Natalee they will find something that will incriminate them. They will see what "sh*t"? Is this referring to some bad condition they left her in?

J says to the brothers: If they find the girl, then they will see the sh*t.

It has been well documented that Joran’s father Paulus Van der Sloot told the three suspects the day after Natalee disappeared that “if there is no corpse, there is no case.” Why would the elder van der Sloot give the three suspects this advice if they had no idea whether Natalee was alive or not?

J says to the brothers: You said that he (Joran’s father) said that if there’s no corpse there’s no case, or I don’t know what more sorts of shit.

J says to the brothers: That’s not true, the only thing he (Joran’s father) said that if there’s no body there don’t have a case.

And in this segment Deepak seems to indicate Paulus Van der Sloot is involved in the crime.

D to J: You don’t give a shit about your the members of your own family

J to D: The only thing that I can think of is my family I do what my family tells me to do

J to D: Right, retard

D to J: Your own father, unbelievable

J to D: What my father, it is your [plural your] fault that he is arrested. I didn’t declare anything against my father, you [plural you] declared against my father

Here again the Kalpoe’s indicate that it was Joran’s fault that they were in the predicament they were in.

D says to J: We have suffered a lot because of you.

In this part of the conversation the Kalpoe’s say that the original lie of dropping Natalee off at the Holiday Inn was done for Joran’s benefit.

J says to the brothers: Who made the declaration about the guards; it was you and not me. Why? Because I didn’t want to bring anyone into the problem who has nothing to do with this case.

D or S yells to J: The lie was for you.

J says to the brothers: It was you who admitted that.

D or S again yells to J: The lie was for you.

This final statement from Deepak to Joran unmistakably indicates that the three suspects know something bad happened to Natalee (drugs and rape?) and that Joran will go to prison if they find her.

D to J: They're going to give you 15 years if they find the girl

Ms. DeVries has not received any of the final paper work from Aruba as I reported in an earlier post. As we all know, the Aruban Authorities have claimed repeatedly that once the two years statue expires, all documentation, declarations, and summary evidence is released to the Family and their Attorneys.

As we all know, the Aruban Authorities never lie and always tell the truth in regard to the laws of Aruba, how they are structured and how they are applied.

If the final paper work has not been received by Ms. DeVries, one could conclude that Max's case is still open even though no one has investigated the case in almost three years. Or was it closed before she and her daughter left Aruba and the Aruban Authorities never did the 'RIGHT THING' and left her to languish? Looks like another instance of TALKING OUT OF BOTH SIDES OF YOUR MOUTH. You draw your own conclusions.

During the filming of the Opsporing Verzocht re-enactment in the Natalee Holloway case I noticed several oddities that give you the impression that the case is closed.

1. As Bloggers and Posters have noticed and commented on, why is the person portrayed as Joran Van Der Sloot not a Caucasian? The person portraying Joran Van Der Sloot appears to be of Arawak decent. This alone raises so many Red Flags that it's impossible to imagine it was done by mistake. Who made the decision to allow this to happen?

If the objective was to get TIPS in the case, why wasn't someone that closely resembled Joran Van Der Sloot used for this Oscar quality role?

2. In the Dutch Judicial System there are no JURIES, only Judges. Why did the program Opsporing Verzocht taint the population of Aruba and Holland's overall perception of the character of Natalee Holloway? In the video, it is clear for all to see that the producers of this program attempted to portray Natalee Holloway as a person of less than upstanding moral character. The program implies that Natalee is flirty in the Carlos and Charlie's scene even though there are no declarations to justify that account. WHY? I conclude it was to make anyone with information in the case to determine that 'she deserved it' and they might decide not to report what they knew.

3. The Program's title is translated to 'ARREST REQUESTED', so you would naturally think that is the goal. How can you get information in a case when the information you are requesting is not based on accurate interpretation of the events?

4. Of all the tips received by Opsporing Verzocht, how many panned out and helped this case? We will probably never know the answer to that one.

5. What is the REAL intention of this type of programming when the overall format was skewed from the beginning? One could logically conclude that the purpose was to steer the investigation AWAY from Joran and Paulus Van Der Sloot based on the way the show was conducted, and the fact the Aruban Authorities confiscated the vehicle of Deepak Kalpoe for the filming of the program.

6. I have heard from the Dutch that the program is similar to America's Most Wanted and has produced arrests and convictions. How did they get it so wrong in this instance? It can only be because it was scripted that way by people in both Holland and Aruba. The BIG difference in the two programs is John Walsh would never allow Nationalism to screw over a CRIME VICTIM. When that happens, it's just more PROPAGANDA.

Justice Ministry Department Head Rudy Croes requested Holland's involvement in the case of Natalee Holloway to deflect the blame in another direction. When there are no criminal charges filed, those on Aruba will claim that they passed the case on to Holland and they made the final determination. There will be claims that we can not blame Aruba as they did the right thing by asking for assistance. This is total HOGWASH. They know it and we know it.

How can Holland make a TRUE FINAL determination in the case when the ALE altered Beth Twitty's statement? How can Holland truthfully come to the correct conclusion when Joran Van Der Sloot's initial declaration as a SUSPECT and not as a WITNESS was torn to pieces and thrown in the garbage by Dennis Jacobs as witnessed by Beth Twitty?

How can Holland get it RIGHT when one of their own appointed Judges blocked access to the Van Der Sloot main residence during the search on 6-15-2005 by stating that he was a 'guest' of Paulus and Anita Van Der Sloot at the residence and it would be an imposition?

I discuss this case with many people. I have one friend that is convinced that Holland will do the 'RIGHT THING' and at the last minute arrest the main suspects in Natalee's case. He has much more faith in the Dutch than I. He believes that Holland will slam this case on the main suspects based on the WIRETAPS. If he is correct, it should be a slam dunk. The words of the main suspects in the case and not under duress would go along way to assure a speedy conviction. Again, he is much more optimistic than I.

Is Natalee's case closed? You decide.

Beth Holloway Twitty, mother of Natalee Holloway who disappeared in 2005, will be among six event speakers. The conference will cover a wide array of safety issues for children and teens.

Aruba is supposed to be known according to the ATA for its charm and nice treatment from the Aruban people. However, it would appear that Aruba is more about the large developers and mega-malls when it comes to tourism. So much for all the local shops owned by Arubans in downtown Oranjestad, looks like the powers that be in Aruba care more about the mega-developers. No wonder they are willing to do anything to protect tourism at all cost.

ORANJESTAD — Developing a mega-mall near the cruise harbour will lead to unacceptable sales losses for all the stores and kiosks in the town center of Oranjestad. AVP-party-leader Mike Eman calls the ‘plans’ of APA and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL) unacceptable. Also Benny Nisbet of the non-parliamentary party PPA is questioning the plans.
Having a shopping center right there at the cruise harbour will hurt all the businesses in the town center. Why would the cruise tourists elsewhere, if everything they need and want is available right there. The number of kiosks, shoppes, restaurants, and bars that are being threatened by the plans is big. The Port of Call Mall has 21 stores; the Seaport Mall has 40; Royal Plaza Mall has 45; there are 32 businesses in the Havenstraat; the Caya Betico Croes (Mainstreet) has 144 businesses; the Shea Mall and Aventura Mall have both 9 stores; there are 8 stores on Plaza Daniel Leo; Bayside Mall has 48; Renaissance Mall has 57 stores; Holland Mall has 9; Wilhelminastraat has 30; and the 20 kiosks at the harbour entrance, and the 17 market halls at the ‘little harbour’. A total of more than 400 stores and 40 restaurants that are endangered by the realization of this new mega-mall.

Renovating the harbour of Oranjestad to promote the cruise tourism and moving the container harbour to Barcadera, should be part of an integral plan for the development of Aruba, is the opinion of AVP. There is a blueprint for quite a few years already to enhance the cruise tourism and to create a modern container harbour in an industrial area with more room and a good infrastructure. Eman says that it is unacceptable to use this blueprint as a steppingstone to use 40 hectare land on the premises of the container harbour for mega-malls, casinos, and other projects at the Paardenbaai. That the plans help the town center to sell more is nonsense.

If 200 to 300 millions are invested in a mall at the harbour entrance, you would do everything possible to have the cruise tourists spend each dollar in this mall so you can get your invested money out.

Eman sees more a modern and attractive harbour with a corridor that leads the cruise tourists to the town center, the streets, commercial centers and historical places. He is of the opinion that there should be a national discussion on this, before any decision is made.

Aruba: Hypocrites … MEP & Oduber call for Call for Boycott of Diario

Isn’t this priceless? The very people who have whined about a tourism boycott of the Aruban island are calling for a commercial boycott of an Aruban business. Aruban officials and their tourism boards have actively campaigned against the notion of a boycott by American tourists against Aruba in response for the handling of the Natalee Holloway case. Now MEP and their leader Nelson Oduber are calling for a boycott against Jossy Mansur and the Diario newspaper.

You can’t have it both ways folks. Not too hypocritical now are we? Complain when it hurts your economic interests and then call for boycotts when you wish to silence your critics. Democracy alive and well on “One Happy Island”.

Amigoe, April 4, 2007: Diario turns to Queen

ORANJESTAD – In an open letter, staff and management of the morning paper Diario have asked the Queen’s attention for the commercial boycott called by the MEP and her leader, Prime Minister Nelson Oduber.

MEP demanded the owner and also director and chief editor Jossy Mansur to publicly apologize to MEP and premier Oduber for all the articles he has published with the intention to damage the reputation of the government and MEP. Mansur has till last Monday to do this, otherwise, the MEP will announce a boycott against Diario.

Since Mansur ignored MEP’s ultimatum, the party decided on a total boycott of the newspaper. No information must be given to Diario. MEP-member had to cancel their subscription as per immediate.. They are also not allowed to buy the paper separately. They cannot place ads in the Diario.
That’s the reason for Diario’s letter to the Queen. He expressed his concern in this letter and asks the Queen to ‘safeguard our constitutional rights’.

To answer the stupid allegations in that MEP inspired and promoted piece of garbage:

1. I never funded any party in Aruba, much less the one Glenbert Croes started because Nelson Oduber, the actual Prime Minister, forbade him to participate in the party his father (Betico) founded. He was so disgusted with that prohibition that he decided, with a few friends his age, to start his own party called the OLA. This is another FACT! When you make this kind of allegation, you better have the necessary proofs (documents, transfer of money, etc.) to back up your allegation. In this case it is non-existent! Just another lie propagated by the corrupt officials who have now been discovered in the biggest of their foul deeds!

Do you remember the Holloway case and the flagrant cover-up that is going on? Well, this party will stop at nothing to slander and invent things that do not exist, or to harm Americans or American interests on the island).

2. The manifestations in front of the Government building in the past were about to get seriously out of hand by the violence inspired by the MEP party fanatics (car burning, invasion and destruction of government property, etc.) that I did meet with one labor leader to put sense into his head. That is another FACT impossible to deny!

3. I never met and have nothing to do with the Namdar group. Ask the FBI to interrogate Richad Lacle, who will soon be serving a prison sentence in Florida, to find out who is behind this group that offered a big bribe to Nelson Odbuer's party and was never denounced to the police or the prosecutors in Aruba. My attention was brought to this case by the revelation of a letter containing a bribery of 1 million guilders to Nelson Oduber and his party. The man to whom the letter was addressed is Michael Williams, ex-campaigner for the MEP party, and who is now in Holland in contact with the Dutch authorities. Williams stated unequivocally that he gave the original to Marisol Tromp (another MEP Minister), to Frerdis Refunjol, actual Governor in Aruba, and to Nelson Oduber (Prime Minister) and Edison Briezen (Minister of Tourism). None of these ever denounced the offered bribery to the authorities! This case is far from having reached the end. It is now beginning on an international level. I wouldn't be surprised if in the U.S., Effy Namdar will be arrested and interrogated with regards to this offered bribe. It's his signature that appears in the bribery letter! U.S. Laws strictly forbid this kind of commercial outright purchase of local and foreign officials in Government, regardless of how easy it is to buy the officials now in power!

4. When the previous government (AVP) was way off track, it was I and the DIARIO who confronted it and brought its government down. Not the MEP party, because they didn't have the credibility to convince anyone that they could do better. They lied their way through the campaign and were able to win with the DIARIO's help. I do not cater to any party in government or to any government! That too is a proven FACT.

5. There is no set up in this case, only the TRUTH! And it came out with a signed letter by Effy Namdar with a one million guilder bribery offer to the MEP party for the purchase of 100 acres of prime land at the port. Can you imagine the corruption involved here? And whether Nel Oduber, the habitual liar and head of the most corrupt government ever in Aruba, likes it or not, the DIARIO will do whatever it takes to stop the sale of public property against the offered 1 million guilders in the form BRIBERY!"

Ulterior Motives?

Recently some questionable documents were posted on a discussion forum that put prime suspect Joran Van Der Sloot in a bad light. Whereas the ramblings did not reveal anything alarming, those words did confirm many of the inconsistencies in his many stories about the night he lured Natalee Holloway away from a tourist trap on the island of Aruba. This would probably have been a non-issue, if it were not for the stir it caused across several message boards.

Questions poured in about the origin of the files, the person that posted them and the motives behind doing so, but little was said about the actual content. The owner of that board, a Dutch born Van Der Sloot sympathizer that benefits from all things American, was even queried about why he would allow the post to stand for as long as it did. The answers to those questions were nebulous at best and evasive on average.

What I found to be most interesting about the whole incident was the ensuing “damage control” that was lamely attempted by the board’s owner. A very amateurish campaign of propaganda was instigated by the usual reprobates and applauded by this so-called attorney from the land of windmills.

The script could have been written by Deepak Kalpoe. Every effort was made to cast a disparaging light upon the victim, the victim’s family, the United States and the state of Alabama. The archives of some rather notorious internet mental wards were scoured for old posts that would conjure an inappropriate picture of a missing (presumed dead) girl that tragically disappeared after a short trip to One Happy Island.

Thread after thread was started and old messages were cut and pasted one after another. These unfounded slanders came from some of the most twisted personalities lurking about the internet, hiding behind anonymity. These people hate for the sake of hatred and they scrape the bottom of the barrel when expressing their hatred for anything and everything to do with Natalee Holloway’s life.

One must ask just who orchestrated this ludicrous attempt to once again shift attention away from the primary suspects in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Junior claims to be in constant contact with the Van Der Sloots. So, was this another lesson on criminal law (Dutch style) given by Paulus Van Der Sloot, or was the Dutch notary left to his own devices to dream this hypocrisy up all by his little lonesome?

If the Van Der Sloots were not encased in a thick coat of Teflon, their associations with the likes of these people would have been enough to land them in jail.

As I remember the van, it was slightly 'thinner' than the van in the picture above. The Van in the 'Missing Video' could in fact be this van above based on the distance Ed Smith filmed it from and the equipment could have possibly distorted the size of it.

What is intriguing about this van is it appears to be totally enclosed and does not have windows. The Van in the Missing Video does not appear to have any back windows, if I recall correctly.

This picture below is a van that is roughly the same 'thickness' as the Van in the 'Missing Video'. I believe the dimensions of the White Van in the 'Missing Video' are slightly larger, but this gives you the idea it is not a Chevy 1500 Series as seen in another of the Aru-Bay Videos.

Recently there was a post in NY Metro regarding vacationing in Aruba. The article was an obvious pathetic attempt to get people to go back to travelling to Aruba in hopes that people will have forgotten that Aruba did nothing to provide justice for missing Alabama teenager, Natalee Holloway.

The lengths that the Aruban tourism will go to hide the fact they just wanted the Natalee Holloway story to go away is pathetic. Instead of providing justice, they just want everyone to forget. Fat chance.

Aruba got a bad rap after Natalee Holloway went missing in 2005, but those who know Aruba know the island is safe — and more than $250 million has been invested into its tourism industry, according to the Aruba Tourism Authority, with many hotel renovations wrapping up in recent months.

Aruba did not get a bad wrap. It was finally exposed for what it really is. A place where they want people to drop money and if something happens to a tourist they will at all cost hide, obstruct and interfere in an investigation. No one expects or ever dreams that something will happen when they go on vacation. However, if you travel to Aruba you now know that nothing will be done on your behalf to provide you justice. If you have no problem with that, then Aruba is the perfect place for you. If you are a self-centered individual who cares nothing of what happens to other, once again you have found the perfect destination.

The possible involvement of Paulus with that could then be deducted from the file with the official reports of witnesses, amongst which two people suggested a contact existed between Paulus and Natalee Holloway the night of her disappearance, and a taped report (that was given by the Prosecutor in her final note 1 to the Court).

The taped information and his declaration that he picked up Joran and Natalee by the McDonalds Palm Beach and brought them to the Holiday Inn, are clearly understood by the Dept. of Justice, and could in the judgment of this Superior Court, be considered as an indication of the involvement of Paulus in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway."

Crime Against Caribbean Travelers: Should You Believe the Hype?

Since the 1980s, the Caribbean region has been struggling against its own inner demon: crime. Citizens of the Caribbean have quickly learned that rising crime rates on one island can negatively affect other islands in the vicinity. While the islands still offer some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, travelers can sometimes feel insecure about their surroundings, making relaxation more of a challenge.

Several recent news stories about crimes in the Caribbean, including the highly covered disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway, have reignited the debate over how to keep the islands safe for travelers. Concern for safety has even inspired a conference in late October, the second Caribbean Conference on Crime and Criminal Justice, and a statement by the Caribbean Commissioners of Police about ways travelers can stay safe. These efforts are visible steps officials are taking to help travelers feel more secure about their vacations, especially as the Caribbean’s tourist season approaches.

Studying Crimes

One of the biggest problems in studying crime among the islands has been that, until recently, few efforts had been made to distinguish crime against island residents from crime against visitors. Obtaining clear and specific crime data has become an important step toward fighting crime in the islands, and newer studies have revealed that violent crimes against vacationers in the Caribbean islands are indeed rare occurrences. While Jamaica, for example, may be known for its high murder rates, the vast majority of murders are crimes by Jamaican nationals against Jamaican nationals.

Vacationers planning a trip to the islands are more likely to encounter petty theft and other nonviolent crimes than anything else. However, as recent events have shown, this is not a certainty. Some believe that areas inundated with tourists have higher crime rates against tourists because there are as many visitors as residents, while others believe that the relaxed attitude of most travelers is the main contributing factor in these crimes. Although there are several different theories about this, one thing is certain - travelers who take precautions generally do not experience such problems during their stay.

Staying Safe

The best way to be safe during Caribbean travel is to avoid making the mistakes most vacationers make - just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be cautious. Leaving doors unlocked, leaving valuables in plain view in a hotel room or rental car, displaying too much wealth, and wearing flashy jewelry are all ways to attract thieves. Remember that you are far from home, and replacing valuables, such as a stolen wallet, will be even more difficult. Take the same precautions you would take at home or in any big city to avoid losing important items.

Another way travelers can stumble upon trouble is by walking into “bad” areas of town. It’s common sense to avoid walking down a dark alley in most cities, but vacationers may not always recognize a part of town that locals know to avoid. If an area makes you feel uneasy, or would make you feel uneasy at home, it’s probably best to avoid that area, especially at night. Women particularly should take extra precautions at night and avoid walking alone.

While some believe that tourist-heavy areas inspire more crimes against tourists, these areas have established more rigid security measures to help travelers stay safe. It is difficult to determine whether these areas are more or less safe than any other location. However, one certainty is that most travelers to the Caribbean have never experienced any sort of crime.

Travelers who return year after year to experience all the Caribbean offers rarely tell stories of vacations turning into horrible experiences. So with just a bit of caution in mind, it’s still safe to relax on a Caribbean vacation while the island governments work to put a stop to the troubles that can keep travelers from their shores.

Paulus stated that Beth and Jug Twitty were mistaken when they insisted that he said 4:00 AM on the morning of May 30/05. He claimed that he had actually stated a pick up time of11:00 PM on the evening of May 29/05. The lead detective, Roy Tromp, confirmed that Paulus changed his story. Jug Twitty could not understand why statements were not immediately obtained from all witnesses who were present on that morning. On June 5/05 Beth requested that security cameras from McDonalds be checked. As of Dec. 12/05 Aruban authorities had yet to comply with her request.

However, in the second week of Feb /07, it was revealed by the Aruban Justice Department that Paulus originally declared 4:00 AM on the morning of May 30/05 as the time he picked up Joran from McDonalds and they therefore, had justification for his detainment.

If this information was forwarded to the residing judge by the prosecutor, why was Paulus released from detention; why was he declared no longer a suspect and why was he awarded compensation for wrongful arrest?

02. THE CASINO VIDEO RECORDING

The leaked casino video recording appears to capture Paulus Van der Sloot conversing with Natalee Holloway at the Black Jack table. If it is revealed that the person is Paulus, the implication would be that both Joran and Paulus lied regarding Paulus leaving the Excelsior casino during the Poker Tournament. Another implication would be that Judge Rick Smid who released Paulus from detention; declared he was no longer a suspect and awarded him damages for wrongful detention was either uninformed or he gave one of his own preferential treatment.

ORANJESTAD – An 18-year old father to be is convicted to four months imprisonment conditionally and 60 hours community service, because he had sex with a 13-year old girl, and at the same time, impregnated another 14-year old girl.
The 13-year old girl, M.G. lived with David Regulo Henriquez in the neighbourhood. The two had sex with each other from March up till and included August of 2006. When the mother of the girl learned about this, she contacted the police. G. declared that she is in love with Henriquez and that the grandmother of the boy had encouraged her to go to the boy. Both declared having had consensual sex.
During a background investigation on Henriquez, it turned out that he also had a relation with another minor, who got pregnant from him and is due in April. Both Henriquez and G. were tested for venereal disease and the result was that he has no STD , but she does.

YOUNG

The Public Prosecutor decided to prosecute, due to the young age of the girl. “This suspect needs support and guidance. He needs to realize what the consequences are of his sexual preferences for such young girls”, said the public prosecutor.
The judge admitted having a problem. He said that only the sexual offence with the 13-year old girl will be prosecuted and not the fact that he has impregnated a 14-year old girl. “But it is important that the OM doesn’t want to consider the two cases separately.” The judge said that with his 18 years, Henriquez is too young to become a father, but his unprotected sexual relation with two minors is morally alarming.

GET MARRIED

Henriquez said that he wants to marry his girlfriend after she gives birth. He wants them to take care of their baby together. The girlfriend still lives at home with her parents and Henriquez’s parents live in the Netherlands . The girlfriend wrote a letter to the judge telling him that he loves Henriquez and wants to be with him and their baby. She also said that her parents do not approve that and want to keep him away from her.

The public prosecutor demanded a conditional imprisonment of four months and two years probation, 100 hours community service, and rehabilitation surveillance against Henriquez.

Mike: Jossy, I received an email this morning asking me about something they thought they heard in a television interview. It has to do with you having Joran Van Der Sloot followed, before the Holloway incident. Do you have any memory of such a thing?

Jossy: That question is way off base since I never had Joran followed by anyone! I never mentioned anything of the sort in any interview. People many times give reign to their imaginations and come up with unbelievable theories and ideas that do not conform to the reality. My loyalties to Aruba are unquestionable, but my loyalty with the truth has priority over everything else. I do not have any agendas, hidden or public; I just do my job as Director of the DIARIO.

Mike: There has been misinformation floating around on the internet for a long time about your background. Would you mind giving us a brief biographical sketch?

Jossy: I was born in Aruba in 1934. My father came from Venezuela in the year 1901, together with my grandfather, who emigrated from Lebanon to Venezuela in or around 1894. The exact date has not been established. They came to Aruba hidden in a fruit boat, to put as much distance as possible between themselves and the political persecutions that were going on at that time. (I believe Cipriano Castro was then in power).

I was born in Aruba and attended school at St. Dominicus College, where I finished the sixth grade. I then went to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, when I was 14, to attend high school at St. Stanislaus, of the Sacred Heart Brothers, where I graduated in 1951. I then went on to Mobile Alabama, to attend college at Spring Hill College, of the Jesuit order. I graduated in 1954. I came back to Aruba and then traveled to Venezuela to find employment. I was hired by the Mobile Oil Company and stayed with them for 9 years as Safety Supervisor. I worked for the company in Barinas, Anaco and Puerto Cabello. In 1967 I came back to Aruba and remained here until now.

When in Venezuela I used to contribute many articles (of a literary nature) to El Universal, and published quite a lot of material (short stories, essays, etc.) in the best magazines of the country (Bohemia, Elite, etc.)

I started to write for a paper called Nobo, published in Curacao, then started my own section of a paper (EXTRA) with a friend from Curacao. Then I decided to start DIARIO more than 25 years ago, and was able to make it the largest (by far!) of the papers circulating in Aruba. Today it has over 89% of the market exclusively.

I started to publish books in Papiamento, English and Spanish, and have so far published 56 of them, including 4 dictionaries, 4 novels published in Cali, Colombia, the History of Aruba, and other fiction and non-fiction books. I am considered to be the most prolific writer in the history of the Netherlands Antilles, not only because of the quantities published, but also because of the quality.

That, my friend, is a brief summary of my schooling and literary activities.

There are confirmed reports of a sighting by a Naval officer one year after Amy disappeared.

The officer told the FBI he went to a brothel in Curacao in 1999. He said an American girl leaned in and said: "My name is Amy Bradley I need your help." Unfortunately he didn't report the sighting for some time and by then the brothel had burned to the ground. (source)

Barbados will not tolerate any modern forms of slavery

As Barbados and the rest of the world celebrates the 200th Anniversary of the abolition of the Transatlantic Slave Trade in Britain, we must ensure that anyone practicing modern forms of slavery will feel the full weight of the law.

Citing an example, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office and Member of Parliament for St. Michael West, Reverend Joseph Atherley, stated that Government had the duty to crack down on the practice of human trafficking in Barbados. He noted that there are instances in which people from Europe and elsewhere in the Caribbean are being manipulated and tricked into coming to Barbados, where they are often forced to engage in prostitution.

He also mentioned that some 250 million children world-wide are forced to engage in child labour, and that instances where people were grossly underpaid for their work, which he referred to as wage slavery, were other issues we had to grapple with 200 years after the abolition of the slave trade.

During his contribution to the debate on the resolution to commemorate the occasion in the House of Assembly, Atherley also came out in support of reparations. He noted that in 1807, the British Government paid slave owners 20 million pounds in compensation for loss of property, and that Haiti had to pay reparations to France for 100 years following its declaration of independence from France in 1804.

Atherley also quoted Lord Gifford, who described the slave trade as a crime against humanity, and stated that the hardships many descendants of Africans faced today were a direct consequence of that period in our history.

The MP for St. Michael West also called on Barbados to stay away from "polarising politics", which divided countries along racial lines, stating that this practice had created major problems in other Caribbean countries over the years.

“In Aruba, when a case is considered "cold", it doesn't mean that it is permanently closed, but that it can be reopened if and when new evidence appears or is found. The Dutch team of 10 experts that is arriving today has conditioned their work so that they will only work with the police team in charge of combating drugs on the island, because they consider them the more reserved section of the police force.

The Ministry of Justice definitely wants to put an end to the investigation of the case. I think it's wrong, because there are so many declarations by the three main suspects that have to be investigated further, that you cannot close the case until that is properly ant thoroughly done. I fear that this is the last attempt by the Dutch and Aruban authorities to show that they are interested in the case to the degree they will make one last effort, and then close it.

Postscript:

Not to take away from the source of this news, because he does know much more than I as it pertains to the legal workings of Aruba and the Netherlands. But, some assumptions are being made and that leaves the possibility that things might go in a different direction. All we know for certain is that a group of ten (10) Dutch experts are on their way to Aruba to finalize their investigation into the Natalee Holloway case. Maybe, just maybe, they will be able to do more than just haze over this case and declare it cold.

Wishful thinking on my part, but wouldn’t it be extremely nice if the Holloway/Twitty families finally got a break in all of this?

Update II: Nothing to report about the Dutch team of investigators coming out of Aruba at this time and nothing expected over the weekend. Some believe their purpose in Aruba is a mixed one and involves the recent issues of bribery and corruption on the island. More should be learned in the following days and weeks.

The possible involvement of Paulus with that could then be deducted from the file with the official reports of witnesses, amongst which two people suggested a contact existed between Paulus and Natalee Holloway the night of her disappearance, and a taped report (that was given by the Prosecutor in her final note 1 to the Court).

The taped information and his declaration that he picked up Joran and Natalee by the McDonalds Palm Beach and brought them to the Holiday Inn, are clearly understood by the Dept. of Justice, and could in the judgment of this Superior Court, be considered as an indication of the involvement of Paulus in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway."

You would think an innocent man, as Joran Van Der Sloot claims to be, would volunteer to sit down and CLEAR HIS NAME before the two year limit arrives on 6-9-2007. His name is anything but clear.

The Dutch investigators are not investigating anything at all. They are tying up the remaining loose ends on the Natalee Holloway case. If they were serious about getting results, they would have re-interviewed Joran Van Der Sloot at least once over the 18 months seeing as how he has been residing in Arnheim Holland. He is relatively easy to find.

The Dutch Investigators could argue that interviewing Joran Van Der Sloot is not worth the effort. He is the World's Worst Liar, and what would be accomplished by interviewing him? He is an adult now. Interviewing him without his father sitting there holding his hand might actually get somewhere and he may have forgotten some of his initial lies and he may be caught in a flurry of lies that he is not smart enough to spin. That is all predicated on the fact that the Dutch would actually ask the correct follow up questions this time. He might also decide it's time to come clean and tell what happened and the roles played by others. We will not ever know the answer to that one because the Dutch Investigators have not and do not intend to interview the last person seen with Natalee Holloway. Nothing is assured here.

How could they ever get a conviction in the muscularly challenged Dutch Judicial System?

A conviction in this case would come from cell phone, internet and text message traffic. It would also come from video footage of the Excelsior Casino and Holiday Inn, wiretaps, from Paulus Van Der Sloot's banking records, and from the statements of those witnesses and NOT suspects. It should be a slam dunk, and it should have been a slam dunk a year and a half ago. It's really not that complicated, unless you ignore everything that has been discovered (accidentally released) to date.

Will there ever be a trial? In all likelihood, no. The reason is simple. Joran Van Der Sloot might actually get convicted. I know that sounds crazy, but in the Dutch Judicial System anything is possible. He could get convicted by accident. However, in the closed door Dutch Judicial System that operates in the cloak of darkness, it would be hard to imagine. Declarations and summary evidence would be thrown out and no one would ever be the wiser.

Few Judicial Systems in the twenty-first century operate in a closed door fashion. Only Totalitarian Systems still screw VICTIMS. That is what we are really dealing with here. A Society that portends to be open and elects officials, but in reality is still a Monarchy. This is the clash of cultures you often wonder about. There are many that miss communism in the old USSR. And there are many that miss the good old days of nepotism, cronyism, and outright corruption in Holland. Monarchies are legalized corruption.

You can be assured that the Dutch have a new respect for the Americans. They now realize we are not easily fooled. They thought this was going to be over in 3 weeks, they learned the hard way that things have changed. They never ever imagined we would kick the snot out of their System, their cronies, their repulsive way of life, their outright lying, and their outright protection of a murdering, raping psychopath and his father.

Will Joran ever go to jail? Yes, he will. There will be another VICTIM down the road. A VICTIM that never needed to become a VICTIM. If the Dutch would have done the right thing in this case, there would not have been a 'future VICTIM' for at least 15 years.

And we'll all be back to do it all again.

Lastly, remember when the Dutch sent their Investigators to Aruba in months past? Remember they never interviewed any of the suspects or witnesses. What makes anyone think at this late date they all of a sudden decided to do the right thing?

Aruba's Justice Minister Rudy Croes sent a letter last week to Netherlands' Internal Affairs Minister Johan Remkes and to another Dutch official asking the Dutch police to handle the case, saying little progress had been made, the Solo di Pueblo newspaper reported.

If Dutch police take over the investigation, they will have access to all case files and their own office, according to the newspaper, which didn't cite its source. Remkes will visit the Dutch Caribbean islands, including Aruba, next week, authorities said in the Netherlands.

Oranjestad- One more time an American press circus can be expected next month when the second anniversary of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway is approaching. As it is known, two years ago on the 30th of May it has been two years that Aruba found itself in a situation never seen before with the negative international attention when an American teenager disappeared and it brought a wave of negative activity with it that Aruba is still trying to recover from.

When the first year passed, it was to be expected that the American press would like to revive the entire episode that happened a year earlier. This indeed happened, but not in the way it was thought. One of the American TV channels that basically took over Aruba, meaning FOXNEWS, made a one-hour documentary, but others did not spend much attention to it [the anniversary].

This year, once more FOXNEWS is on its way to Aruba where they are planning a visit the second or the third week of May, to film Aruba and then show the footage on the relevant date. Many people who have been approached turned down the interest, indicating that they are not interested in the case anymore and moreover they are tired of this situation.

In the meantime there is a case against Michael Saladin pending where he signed a waiver that the American government asked him to sign so that they can use his story and create another media circus. There are indications that if Saladin’s detention has to enter in the 60 day phase next week, there is a chance that Saladin could go ahead and give his lawyer the green light to release this waiver with all its consequences. It must be said at the same time that from the other side, Saladin received an avalanche of advice to not release the waiver, because it would be deadly to Aruba. But everything resorts in the hand of Saladin who is still in the hospital.

The problem is that the timing can be somewhat tricky because if the result is that just when the American press teams are in Aruba relating to the Holloway case, Saladin can have the news of the waiver which can initiate another complete circus on Aruba. Something that the financial experts have pointed out that can be deadly for Aruba. There are many investments taking place right now that can stop if Aruba receives such a blow again.

A Brighton High School sophomore and cheerleader battling cancer will get a helping hand next week.
Brighton Township resident Yvonne DeVries is helping organize a fundraiser on Tuesday for Sarah Cromer, who has not attended high school this entire year as she undergoes chemotherapy treatment. Cromer, 16, also underwent surgery on the leg where the cancer was found.

"I'm really grateful she's donating the money to me," said Cromer from the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. She usually spends four days each week at the hospital while undergoing treatment.

She said she has received numerous cards from area residents during this past year.

"It's wonderful to have an opportunity to do something for her," said Jill March, Cromer's mother.

Cromer, who was a member of the junior varsity cheerleading team, said she missed going to school and being with her friends. She plans to return to school next year and become a cheerleader again.

DeVries created the Max to the Millions endowment to help others and as a remembrance for her son, Max, who was lost at sea while riding a personal watercraft in Aruba during a family vacation in May 2004.

Max was a popular eighth-grader at Scranton Middle School and loved playing the guitar.

A year before Max disappeared, DeVries lost her husband. DeVries has a daughter, Dom-inique, who is a student a Brighton High School.

In 2005, Max to the Millions gave money to parents of premature babies at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.

In 2006, DeVries decided to give what she calls a "gift of love" to Jeannie Seitz, a Hamburg Township woman with a brain tumor. Seitz used the money to send her two sons to music camp.

The fundraiser for Cromer will be held Tuesday at Pathway Community Church, 228 S. Fourth St. in Brighton.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per person.

During the course of the Natalee Holloway investigation there was a concerted effort by many to discredit Natalee and her family. Many came up with “conspiracy” theories that she for no apparent reason just ran off. Others, including contingents with IP addresses from Aruba and Holland made the accusations that Natalee Holloway some how asked for what occurred. Some even went so far as to state that she was responsible for her own disappearance whether it was intentional or by others actions. The attempt to discredit Natalee Holloway to some how preserve Aruba’s reputation and that of the three suspects became a cottage industry. Is there a reason why this picture and the others that claim to be of Natalee Holloway seen to be disproportionate from other pictures of Natalee with her friends? Natalee is a rather small girl. Why do the pictures of her in Carlos N’ Charlies that were nothing but an effort to show that she was out of control seem just not right? We wonder.

In July of 2005 pictures of Natalee Holloway were posted on-line from Carlos N’ Charlies depicting Natalee Holloway dancing on the bar. It was stated that they were sent to a blog by a tourist. Were they really? Or was this an attempt to discredit Natalee Holloway and use fauxtography to do so?

At first glance it looks like Natalee is dancing on the extension of the dance floor that curves over to the bar. On closer inspection it appears this photo from July 22, 2005 has been photoshopped.

I’ve brightened the two photo’s above and noted the photoshopping done.

In the highlighted and enlarged photo below, look at the square below Natalee’s arm and above the girls head. This is one area of photoshopping We believe the girl is Natalee’s friend Lee. Also look at Natalee’s top. Her top had spagetti straps, the strap here looks too wide. Also there is a vertical line which appears to be another photoshopped area on Natalee’s top.

Wikipedia History of Gilberto François "Betico" Croes (b. 1938 d. 1986).

Betico was an Arubian political activist who was a proponent of Aruba's separation from the rest of the Netherlands Antilles. This eventually occurred, but Croes lapsed into a coma after an accident on 31 December 1985 (the night of status aparte) and was never conscious to see his accomplishment. He's called the father of the Arubian nation.

The accident he suffered were questioned by many for years since a car was seen leaving the area after the accident. This conspiracy theory was never proven.

He was the leader of the political party M.E.P. (Movimiento Electoral di Pueblo) and was the person responsible for the Seal, Flag and Hymn of the island of Aruba.

In the 1980's he also told his people that are Aruba should target the tourism in order the diversify the economy since it depended mainly on the refinery.

This ambitious young politician emerged as the driving force for the next generation towards the realization of our new "Status Aparte" in the Dutch Kingdom. This was achieved in 1985 and made official as of 1st January 1986. Mr. Gilberto François Croes (better known as "Betico Croes") became the modern "liberator" of the Aruban cause, namely to become an independent partner within the Royal Dutch Kingdom.

It's hard to imagine that someone who was trying to improve the lives of the Aruban People would approve what is happening on Aruba today. How did Aruba get so far off track?

It's common in small countries when life is inadequate for a People someone emerges to take the helm and demonstrates leadership in trying times. Martin Luther King Jr. immediately leaps to mind. I have to admire someone that shows that Leadership.

Most had very little knowledge of the inner workings of Aruba when Natalee Holloway became a crime VICTIM on Aruba on 5-30-2005. We have all learned about the History, the Culture, the People, the Topography, and the System. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

When I look at the history of Aruba, I become aware that Justice is NOT for ALL.

If a conspiracy was not proven in the death of Betico Croes, I doubt there will be such a conclusion in Natalee's case. Some cases are just left at the window of The Texas School Book Depository. They seem to remain in limbo even though there appears to be ample evidence that a CONSPIRACY does exist.

If a man like Betico, who is revered from San Nicholas to Malmok can not have a conspiracy proven in suspicious circumstances, I doubt that Natalee Holloway will get the Justice we all wish would have arrived yesterday.

Today the Diario has made accusations that the M.E.P. is using LISTENING DEVICES to catch any inner workings of the Newspaper. The phones are bugged.

Now that is a damn serious allegation.

Have we all heard that allegation before? Yes, Dave Holloway implied that his phone while on Aruba was tampered. He had no other explanation as how some knew what seemed to be confidential.

As I have posted in the past, Prime Minster Nelson Oduber controls all communications on Aruba and recently declared an M.E.P. Boycott against the Diario Newspaper.

Given the fact that the Diario is Public Enemy Number One in the eyes of the M.E.P. and Mr. Oduber, it is logical that if the allegations leveled by the Diario are true, it could be tied to only one person and one party. A party Hell Bent on the destruction of Aruba. Just what are they trying to prevent from coming out? What info are they trying to hear?

Mr. Oduber prevents the son of Betico Croes from being a member of the M.E.P. Party.

In an effort to consolidate his POWER, Mr. Oduber slays the children of his enemies to prevent a future where he has no POWER. In a effort to prevent his downfall, Mr. Oduber bends laws and place Aruba in a dangerous position.

I believe if Betico Croes were alive today, Aruba would not be in the mess it created through poor leadership and decision making.

Betico realized that the Golden Goose flew in from the North and would not have killed that Goose.

The truth can hurt when it’s exposed without circumlocution! What could have led the mediocrity of the MEP party lose their heads in such an ugly manner? Could it be the bribery of 1 million guilders? Is that what made them try to look for any distraction from this most shameful anti-Aruban act known in our history? Is it because Nel Oduber is searching for a way out of the atom-bomb that the Namdar offer exploded in his face, and that has converted Neldar in another victim that “can be bought and sold”?

Gentlemen, go ahead with your attempts to distract the attention from the offered bribery of the most shameful 1 million guilders that exists, and the delivery afterwards of our port to the same foreign group that put that money under the table! Is this or isn’t this the greatest demonstration of anti-Arubanism known until now? Must the Aruban continue on the path of the cross to get his rights, while the foreigners with money can just wave a few bills in their faces to at once get the permits or properties they want? Just consider all the cases that the most anti-Aruban government has lost in court so far! Two great doctors, real Arubans, Lacle and Posner, had to take the path of the cross to get their rights, and even so, are being politically persecuted until this day! Is this, or isn’t this one more demonstration of the most pathetic anti-Arubanism that exists?

Then Henny Eman and Otmar Oduber, another two Arubans with a long history of political persecution coming from the same Government and members of the MEP party, hungry for vengeance, moved by hate and rancor They too had to suffer years of political persecution, to finally obtain in Court for the truth to conquer the lies, the slanders, the ridiculous accusations, thrown at them by a Government that has characterized itself as mediocre and totally anti-Aruban! And we could go on and on to fill this whole paper with the long list of politically persecuted Arubans, just because they think different and want the good of their people and their island.

To expose the truth in a newspaper, on the radio or on television, has become for the anti-Arubans in power the cause for unbelievable hysterics, a drowning in a glass of water, and an attempt to hide the bribery offer of 1 million guilders with shouts coming from the handful of mediocrities at their disposal. Mister Neldar can turn and turn, trying to find any motive that can help him extract himself, but the 1 million guilders hang over his head like the accusation of a judge.

The day I said that Nel Oduber’s government is anti-American too, I came with the proofs to demonstrate it, but I left out a couple very painful for Nel, but since he again lost control over his tongue, here are more proofs: Natalee Holloway (American) and the American girl that his son mistreated and then wanted to rape in his own home! The father, a man from Panama, send me all the proofs, including clinical reports of physical abuse, and I didn’t publish them for discretions sake and for consideration of a person that does not deserve it.

What did Nel’s government do in the case of Natalee? Hide their heads in a hole like ostriches so as not to see the truth of what was happening, try to fire Jan and Karin because they did not belong to the group of political yes-men of his government; put the interest for American tourism money above the value of a human life; try to throw the blame on the family of the girl that disappeared, instead of going all-out against the three suspects who are responsible for the bad name Aruba got in other countries, and rightly so because those in power did not lift one finger to defend the victim, but went all out behind the curtain to make the family responsible for the negative image Aruba got, and not against the three suspects in whose company the girl disappeared. She too is an American!

Then his unbelievably stupid anti-American statements; the case of his own son who tried to rape an American girl in his own home! Now there is another American arrested because he pulled a gun against a person that attacked his wife, then committed destruction against her property. A government that has characterized itself as an Anti-American one with unquestionable concrete proofs.

But, the worst is that this government is principally an Anti-Aruban one that obliges the sons of this island that do not belong to the privileged few of the MEP, to go through a truly torturous process to find their rights! For the foreigner with money? Everything! All they have to do is…let everyone complete the sentence for himself or herself, considering the bribery offer. And for the poor foreigners who come to Aruba with his or her work specialization, another road of the cross! A merciless persecution; an extraction of the little money that they have or can borrow, to obtain the papers for a permit that often never comes! Another inhuman persecution of those that did not come to commit acts against the law (like those that many of the delinquents around Nel did commit, some with judge’s sentences hanging over their heads!), but who came to Aruba to look for a better life and to contribute to our labor market with their talents and know-hows!

Nel Oduber has become a synonym for political persecution, for implacable hatred, for “can be bought and sold”, of 1 million guilders offered to a traitor willing to deliver our port in the hands of foreigners! This is a handing-over of the worst kind, of a dictatorial attitude never before seen on an island that always held its impeccable democracy in front of the eyes of the world for it to understand that in Aruba the empire of the Law is in command. We can no longer say that! Now our island has become, in the hands of Nel Oduber and his anti-Aruban and anti-American government, an island of the abuse of power, of nepotism, of favors to the small group of privileged MEP fanatics, and political persecution against the rest of the population that do not subject themselves to his amens!

By Court Order, Aruba is First in Caribbean for Gay Marriage

Settling a six year dispute between a lesbian couple and Aruban officials, the Dutch Supreme Court on Friday told the island that they must recognize a same-sex marriage performed in the Netherlands.

Aruba, formerly a Dutch colony, remains part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (where gay marriage is legal) and therefore must follow the ruling by that nation's highest court.

Shortly after moving to Aruba, the women wanted to register as a married couple but were told that Aruba would not recognize a same-sex marriage.

According to Caribbean Net News, "The Supreme court ruling, published on the internet, stated that a marriage certificate signed by an official of the Netherlands, carried the 'same force of law' in Aruba. 'The couple can insist that they be registered as married in the municipal registry,' the court added."

More news from “One Happy & Safe” island, this time human traffickers are sentenced. For the OM to believe that this was a result of a human trafficking network the sentences seem to be rather light. If one really believes that human trafficking is a serious crime would not the penalties be more severe?

The human trafficking problem seems to a real issue; however, do not remember hearing the ATA mentioning this at the travel trade shows.

Amigoe, April 16, 2007: OM surmises network of human traffickers

Two human traffickers, Hector Ramon Rojas Acosta and Henry Gonzales Henao are taken back to prison after they had heard their sentence.

ORANJESTAD – A captain and a sailor, who had transported 18 persons from Venezuela early January, were sentenced to 16 and 20 months imprisonment, for being involved in human trafficking.

On January 6th of this year, the coastguard detected a small boat on the radar that was making conspicuous movements, didn’t have lights, and was not registered. The coastguard stopped the boat near the harbour of Barcadera and arrested the 20 persons on board. The e persons on board said the two of them, the 36-year old Venezuelan citizen Hector Ramon Rojas Acosta and the 44-year old Colombian Henry Gonzales Henao were respectively the captain and the sailor. The two were locked up separately in San Nicola and the others were also locked up awaiting deportation. Purpose of the journey was to seek a new existence in Aruba . The reason they came in a small boat is that the persons had no passport and no money for an airplane ticket.

MONEY

The judge said that airline tickets would have been cheaper, considering the fact that Gonzalez had paid 6400 dollars for the boat, including the motors. The group of person on board came from Colombia to Punto Figo (Venezuela ) and paid Rojas 320 dollars each for the trip to Aruba . The people that didn’t know how to swim were promised to be put on the beach, but that they will have to swim if things do not work out.

NETWORK

Due to the economic situations in Colombia , people leave their country to seek better existence elsewhere, in this case in Aruba . The captain of the boat made it appear that the boat was purchased by all the person on board for this purpose, but he forgets that the people have paid for the trip and not for the boat. The OM presumes that an organized human trafficking gang is behind this transport, because close to shore, the boat made a light signal to somebody that was on the shore. This means that there is a network and that the boat with people on board was expected to arrive.

Gonzales was already deported before and he has no legal papers. The OM demanded three years against Gonzalez and 18 months against Rojas.

IMPRISONMENT

The judge said that this is not the first human trafficking case. The Court considers human trafficking a very bad offence. He said that Gonzales shows no respect for the law in Aruba . He was deported before, and still tried to come back to Aruba . He said that it is proven that Rojas accepted money for the trip and that he was the captain. He still was of the opinion that the OM demanded a very high punishment.

Even though her teenage daughter was apparently murdered on a trip abroad, Beth Holloway Twitty said she would never advise parents to keep their children from taking international vacations.

Those trips should be a wonderful experience for their children, she said, and parents can still have peace of mind while their young travelers are away if they follow precautions. She will share those precautions Thursday at the fifth Child Safety Conference at Decatur Baptist Church.

Twitty, of Hoover, will be among several guest speakers who also include Sheriff Jeffrey Dawsy of Citrus County, Fla. He will present information about the kidnapping, assault and murder of Jessica Lunsford in 2005.

Twitty became a household name in America in May 2005, when her daughter Natalee disappeared while on a senior trip to Aruba. Her body was never found, and law officials have not prosecuted any suspects.

Twitty said she will share Natalee's story, which she described as "a story of faith and hope," but she wants attendees to leave with knowledge of how to make their children's overseas trips safer.

It starts by visiting www.safetravelsfoundation.org., which provides updated information on preparing to visit specific locations.

Twitty advises parents to activate the international calling signal on their cell phone before embarking on the trip, so the young traveler can make calls in case of emergency. Second, check with health insurance providers to see if it covers a medical evacuation should the young traveler be admitted to a hospital in a foreign country.
Third, get the police precinct numbers for the cities the youths will travel to and enter them into their cell phones. This will be a big help should the child find their itinerary disrupted or passport stolen, Twitty said.

Also, make sure they know what type of transportation system they will use, such as taxis or subways, and make sure they understand the currency exchanges, she said.

'Be proactive'

"Those are some basic ones to start with just to give some parents a little more peace and assurance that their traveler's trip will be brought full circle," Twitty said. "A parent doesn't want to be reactive, they want to be proactive. That's the bottom line."

Twitty's time will include an Auburn University graduate student, who will discuss new curriculum the school is developing to prepare international travelers on legal, safety, customs and medical issues.

As for justice in her daughter's case, Twitty said there is a wrongful death case against two of the former suspects, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, pending in a California court. The judge is deciding whether to dismiss it upon the defense attorney's request.

If the lawsuit stays in court, Twitty said, she hopes more interrogating and questioning will unveil what happened to Natalee.

No closure

"We don't have any closure or anything final at all," she said. "But I think what's helpful for me, is if it's about protecting our teens, then I want to be part of that and I want to help. If it helps in some way by sharing Natalee's story or sharing a Web site for parents to better prepare their travelers then I'm just grateful we're able to do that."

The conference costs $35, and includes lunch. Twitty will lead off the event at 8:30 a.m. It concludes at 3 p.m. Other speakers representing mental health, law enforcement, social services and education groups will discuss topics such as:

Identifying gang-related crimes and gang culture and lifestyles in North Alabama.

At-risk behavior and mental health of school-age children.

Prevention of sexual exploitation of children, identification of child sex offenders and Internet safety.

Trends in methamphetamine manufacture, distribution and use in the region.
