A letter dated supposedly in September 2005 is written claiming to be about NATALEE HOLLOWAY being alive. The letter is, supposedly, received at the Murder Suspects SLOOT’s home. Current Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT wait’s until December 2005 before informing the ARUBAN Police and giving them the letter. Forensic tests later determined that only Current Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT ’s DNA is present on the letter (was the envelope’s adhesive area tested for DNA?)
On December 10, 2005 the “… The second lead concerns a letter received by Paulus van der Sloot in September. He just this week turned it over to Inspector Dompig. It tells a tale, supposedly by Natalee Holloway herself, of running away and becoming pregnant. The letter is very close in content to several web postings. It has been turned over to the forensic lab in Holland.”
Here is the letter: (Thank You and Hat Tip to "Scared Monkeys" blog and “Debbie”)

August 1, 2005To whom it may concern,The problems for the people of Aruba has gone on long enough.Natalee is alive, well and safe from Jug. We are staying with my family where Mrs. Holloway cannot find her and she is protected from Jug's sexual advances.First Natalee and I would like to apologize to the people of Aruba for the troubles that they have endured, we did not believe that Mrs. Holloway and her husband would carry things this far just to get attention for themselves. We sent a letter to Mrs. Holloway before leaving to explain what we were doing and why.We believe that she must have received the letter shortly before Natalee was reported as missing since she made such a quick trip to Aruba and started looking for some one to blame right away, to take the responsibility away from Jug.We are certain that you will understand why Natalee had to do this when Mrs. Holloway and Jug finally admit to truth and allow it to come out to the public. We are requesting that the reward for Natalee's safe return be given to the people of Aruba when Natalee comes back. But several things will need to take place and change before that happens. We had this planned for several weeks, but did not believe it would work this well.It most likely would not have if the boys had not mistakenly claimed that they had picked Natalee up in the morning of her disappearance and Mrs. Holloway had not jumped on too that and held on like a bulldog, sending the Police and other search teams off in the wrong direction.Natalee got into a car with me and the two persons that aided us in getting off Aruba after leaving Carlos and Charlie's. We apparently succeeded in not being seen together before we left, although we were seeing each other almost every day to complete our plans and make final preparations.Natalee did not want to spoil the trip for the rest of her classmates by leaving any sooner although we were ready earlier. You can try to locate us if you want. But we are sending these letters through five different friends in different areas in sealed, preaddressed and prepaid packages with instructions for each to send the next package of envelopes to the next person, so only the first person will know where the original was mailed from and no one will know if he/she was the first. The final person will then send the individual letters to Aruba, Holland and the United States.Since three persons have suffered the most at the hands of Mrs. Holloway and her husband we want to reward the information of Natalee's location to go to these persons.Joran and the two other boys made a mistake by saying that Natalee was the person that they were with. At the time that they were describing as being with Natalee we were completely off Aruba and on our way home, although their mistaken identity and Mrs. Holoway and her husband's persecution of innocent boys definitely helped as we were held up for eighteen days trying to get out of the country we went to, we were afraid that we would be found at any time.Except for Mrs. Holloway's persistence to cover the fact that Natalee had left on her own that led the Police in the wrong direction the Police would have been able to find when, where and how we left Aruba and we would have most likely been located before we got back into the United States, and then to our present location. We were very glad to see that two of the boys were released and hope that the third boy will be released soon.If any of the reports of statements alleged to have been made by Joran are true Aruba has a problem with Joran but it does not involve Natalee. If you will pay attention to Natalee's friends and classmates you might get the message that Joran and the two other boys are not involved in Natalee's disappearance. In every interview that they have taken part in they have all said that they have not seen Natalee and Joran together, only that Natalee left in a car with three persons. Please advise if these conditions are acceptable to Mrs. Holloway and her husband. When Natalee is ready to let you know where she is we will send another letter, although is will most likely be after she delivers what she believes to be Jug's baby by rape. The baby is due in mid December. Natalee is doing well and has a good doctor. To assure authenticity you will find Natalee's finger prints and a sample of her DNA on some if not all of the twenty letters we sent. We know for certain that the letters to the Police labs in the United States and Holland contain these items.David & Natalee

On January 22, 2006 DAVE HOLLOWAY answered questions asked him by “Blogs For Natalee” founder “Debbie”: (DAVE’s answer is in bold)

Any results on form the NFI on the Paulus letter? Paulus's DNA on the letter. No others. It is a hoax.

On 9-1 ANITA VAN DER SLOOT claimed the “AP” her son was innocent of new allegations that he and three friends took pictures of another girl in "tempting poses." AvdS said the new allegations showed prosecutors were desperate and did not have evidence to link her 18-year-old son to Holloway's disappearance. "It's a desperate attempt to get the boys to talk," she said. "But there is nothing to talk about. Nobody takes this nonsense seriously." AvdS said her son and his friends were present when the photos were taken by another friend, whom she did not identify. She denied the photos were of a sexual nature or that her son and his friends had sexual contact with the girl. "It's a lovely picture of a young girl in a bikini," she said. "I believe in the judicial system of my country. I believe in my son's innocence," AvdS said. "If the decision is not in his favor, we'll just take it from there."
As of 9-1 attorneys SOUSA and MOHAMED were only representing DAVE HOLLOWAY.
On 9-1 CARLO told the “AP” that prosecutors introduced two allegations of a "sexual nature" against Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT during the hearing 8-31 on whether to keep him detained for another 30 days. Carlo did not specify what the allegations were.
On 9-1 the "AP" reported,

A judge on Thursday ordered the release of a Dutch teenager who has been jailed for nearly three months in the disappearance of an Alabama honors student and said he would be freed this weekend, the youth’s father and attorney said.
Paul van der Sloot said the judge ruled there was no reason to hold his son, Joran, any longer on suspicion of murder but the youth remained a suspect in the sexual assault of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway.
Reached by phone later, defense attorney Antonio Carlo disputed part of the father’s statement, saying van der Sloot, 18, remains a suspect in Holloway's murder but will be released Saturday pending the outcome of the investigation.
The decision to release van der Sloot “only has to do with the pretrial detention. The primary condition is he has to remain available to Police,” Carlo said.
The judge in the case issued two rulings: In the first, he agreed with prosecutors' request to extend the period of van der Sloot's pretrial detention by 30 more days.
But later Thursday, the judge issued another ruling that sided with the defense — an order to immediately suspend the execution of his earlier pretrial detention order.
No comment from prosecutors
In a statement, the prosecutors office declined to comment on the ruling, saying it hasn’t received all of the decisions from the judge.
Joran van der Sloot was arrested June 9 along with two friends, Surinamese nationals Satish Kalpoe, 18, and Deepak Kalpoe, 21, on suspicion of involvement in Holloway's disappearance.
The Kalpoe brothers were released on July 4 but were re-arrested last week.
A judge ordered Satish Kalpoe to remain jailed eight more days, government spokesman Ruben Trapenberg said, without giving further details.
The judge was still to rule on whether to continue holding or release Deepak Kalpoe. Murder Suspects can be held for 116 days without charge in the Dutch Caribbean island.
Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Ala., was last seen May 30 leaving a bar with the Kalpoes and van der Sloot, hours before she was to end a vacation celebrating her graduation. No one has been charged, and extensive searches have produced no sign of her.
The announcement came a day after a hearing in which Carlo argued that prosecutors have produced no evidence that his client was involved in Holloway's disappearance or that a crime had been committed.

On 9-1 the “AP” later wrote, “A judge has ordered the conditional release of a Dutch teenager in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, but he must remain available to Police and is still a suspect, his attorney said. Joran van der Sloot, 18, could be released as early as Saturday (9-3) and remain free pending the outcome of the probe of the missin' American girl, said Antonio Carlo. The judge's decision ‘only has to do with the pretrial detention. The primary condition is he has to remain available to Police,’ Carlo said. The announcement came after Carlo argued in a hearing that prosecutors have produced no evidence that his client was involved in Holloway's disappearance or a crime had been committed. The prosecutors office declined to comment, saying it hasn't received the entire order for the release, but expected it Friday.”
On 9-1 SOUSA told the “AP” that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT could still be tried in the case. "It doesn't imply there will be no trial. It's a sort of bail without money. There are conditions instead of money," SOUSA said.
On 9-1 CNNHN reported:

NANCY GRACE, HOST: I'm going to quickly take you to breaking news out of Aruba. Chief suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, the Alabama girl, is set to be released from jail. Tonight, in Aruba, Twitty family attorney Helen LeJuez. Jossy Mansur is back with us, from "Diario" newspaper. In Houston, Natalee's uncle, Paul Reynolds. In New York, defense attorney Jason Oshins and psychotherapist Caryn Stark. Also with us, CNN correspondent Susan Candiotti. Susan, is it true? SUSAN CANDIOTTI, CNN CORRESPONDENT: It is true. The judge says that Joran van der Sloot gets to go home on Saturday. The judge agreed to free him, despite motions by prosecutors to keep the teenager behind bars for another 60 days as a suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, despite the fact that prosecutors presented 300 pages of documents.Obviously, the judge didn't buy it. The defense arguing there was no evidence to tie the young man to the disappearance and to hold him any longer. But the judge technically agreed to keep him in pretrial detention for another 30 days, but then turned around and suspended that order, granting the defense motion to let him go home. However, the judge set conditions. He said that van der Sloot must remain available to the ongoing investigation, meaning they can call him in for questioning at any time. GRACE: Right.CANDIOTTI: He cannot go to college, as he had planned, in Florida, where he was accepted. And the defense attorney, at this time, however, said he did not want to reveal what the other special conditions were. GRACE: OK. CANDIOTTI: However, I would think, Nancy, it's unlikely he'll be able to stray far from Aruba. GRACE: Helen LeJuez, Twitty family attorney, response from Natalee's family?HELEN LEJUEZ, TWITTY FAMILY ATTORNEY: I cannot hear you. GRACE: Is there a response from Natalee's family, Helen? LEJUEZ: Yes. They are very, very upset and very sad tonight. GRACE: To Jossy Mansur, welcome back, Jossy. We missed you. I'm glad to see you. Jossy, I'm stunned. I am stunned. LEJUEZ: By this news, so am I, and so are many people. I mean, I understand that he did get an extension of 30 days, and the 30 days was suspended. The Satish lawyer told us that Satish will get another eight days. And from Deepak, we don't know anything yet. Freddy, the other guy, that he wants to be called Zedan, instead of Arambatzis, is still in jail and got another eight days, also. But it is stunning. GRACE: To Jason Oshins, did you believe this day would come? JASON OSHINS, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: You know what, Nancy? It was a little bit telling that it would. I mean, the Kalpoes were released initially. And then the prosecutors went after them again on some different charges. So, Nancy, there's no body. There's no physical evidence. I mean, surely, you know, as a prosecutor, you need some aids to assist you in a prosecution. Here, they can hold them before charging, but there's nothing to work with. And, obviously, the judge agreed that the mound of evidence didn't amount to enough. GRACE: Paul Reynolds, you're Natalee's uncle. You must be stunned tonight. PAUL REYNOLDS, NATALEE HOLLOWAY'S UNCLE: Well, Nancy, obviously, we're very disappointed. You know, we cannot understand how there could be such a lack of evidence that would release him. You know, but we're not giving up. You know, the Kalpoe brothers are still there. We certainly think lesser charges need to be considered against them. And they need to understand that these -- there are charges that are available against them, which would give them incentive to give us some information as to what happened that night. GRACE: Very quickly, everyone, to tonight's "All-Points Bulletin."FBI and law enforcement across the country on the lookout for this man, Jason derek Brown, wanted in connection with the 2004 murder and robbery in Phoenix of 25-year-old Robert Keith Palomares, an armored guard outside a movie theater. Brown, 36, 5'10", 175 pounds, blond hair, green eyes. If you have info on Jason derek Brown, call the FBI, 602-279-5511. Local news next for some of you, but we'll all be right back. And remember, live coverage of our live trial, 3:00 to 5:00 Eastern on Court TV's "Closing Arguments." Please stay with us, as we remember U.S. Army Major Gregory Fester, 41, an American hero.(COMMERCIAL BREAK)GRACE: Welcome back. Breaking news out of Aruba. The chief suspect in the case of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway's disappearance is set to be released on Saturday, Joran van der Sloot. To psychotherapist Caryn Stark. Caryn, a lot of people are speculating that somehow this will make the Kalpoe brothers talk. Are they kidding? They'll think they're next in line to be released. CARYN STARK, PSYCHOTHERAPIST: I would agree with you, Nancy. I believe that they're not going to talk. No one's talked yet. And as a result, we see that he may be leaving on Saturday and never accused. So I think the Kalpoe brothers are wise to not say anything. And eventually, they may be released as well. GRACE: Is there a way, Jason, for van der Sloot to be charged yet? OSHINS: Sure, he can be charged, just like the Kalpoe brothers. They can re-arrest him on other charges. And certainly, the whole process could go and start again, just as it has with them. GRACE: And to Jossy Mansur, Jossy, there's been a lot of talk that, well, van der Sloot is a party boy. He'll go out, and drink, and yak. You know what? I wouldn't count on that to make a murder case. MANSUR: I wouldn't, either, because I don't think he's going to talk. I think he's going to be extra careful as to what he does and what he says. His father will make sure of that. GRACE: Jossy, what's the response there in Aruba to this? MANSUR: You know, so far, I don't think too many people know about this yet, because it was just something that came out in the afternoon. And I don't think the news has gotten out yet. GRACE: Caryn Stark, it's already been bad enough on the family to lose Natalee, but now this. STARK: Think about it, Nancy. Take the fact that they've lost their daughter, the debilitation. It will never be ending. And at this point, they have absolutely no resolve. So the loss is exacerbated by the fact that they may never, ever know what happened to her or who did it. So there's nothing worse than that. GRACE: Repeat, breaking news out of Aruba. The chief suspect, Joran van der Sloot, set to be released on Saturday.

On 9-1 CNN reported, “the judge technically agreed to keep him in pretrial detention for another 30 days, but then turned around and suspended that order, granting the defense motion to let him go home.”
On 9-1 HELEN LeJUEZ told CNN of the reaction of NATALEE’s Loved Ones, “Yes. They are very, very upset and very sad tonight.” LeJUEZ also said she was stunned, and, “By this news, so am I, and so are many people. But it is stunning.”
On 9-1 PAUL REYNOLD’s stated to CNN, “…obviously, we're very disappointed. You know, we cannot understand how there could be such a lack of evidence that would release him. You know, but we're not giving up. You know, the Kalpoe brothers are still there. We certainly think lesser charges need to be considered against them. And they need to understand that these -- there are charges that are available against them, which would give them incentive to give us some information as to what happened that night.”
On September 18, 2005 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated to FOX News, “September 1st at 1pm I received a phone call from my attorney, and from the prosecuting attorney information was coming out of those interrogations. On September 1st, these young men had divided. They were not denying a crime anymore. The interrogations were unfolding, things were really moving along.”
On September 13, 2005 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated to CNN, “there was absolutely no -- no grounds for them to be released. And I spoke with the Dutch interrogators. And even as of September the 1st, things were really progressing well, and Joran and Deepak and Satish, they had -- these young men had divided, and they were not denying a crime anymore. They were merely implicating each other.”
On December 9, 2005 TV station “NBC13” in BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA reported “While on the (MSNBC) show Friday, Twitty also heard some new information about her daughter's case. An Aruban official revealed that the three prime suspects in the case could be interrogated again and that the attorney general has placed a new prosecutor in charge of the case. Twitty also learned that back in September, one of the suspects' fathers, Paul van der Sloot, received a letter that was allegedly from Natalee Holloway. Officials said the letter will be sent to a lab in Holland to be tested.”
Current Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT waited a month before informing the ARUBAN Police and giving them the August 1, 2005 dated letter. Forensic tests determine that only Current Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT ’s DNA is present on the letter (was the envelope’s adhesive area tested for DNA?) Here is the letter: (Thank You and Hat Tip to "Scared Monkeys" blog and “Debbie”)

A DUTCH judge on 9-2 ordered the conditional release of Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE and Current Murder Suspect SATISH KALPOE , their lawyers said. The two will be freed 9-3. The judge ruled that Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE and Current Murder Suspect SATISH KALPOE could go free on condition that they not leave ARUBA and remain available to Police, said lawyers Ruud Oomen and David Kock.
The DUTCH Judge who ruled 9-1, 9-2 that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT , Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE , and Current Murder Suspect SATISH KALPOE would be freed from jail under restrictions was R. SMID.
On 9-2 the prosecutors office released the following statement:

THE DECISIONS
The prosecutor filed a notion to prolong the detention of J.v.d.S with a period of 30 days. This motion was granted by the judge of instruction, but at the same time the judge of instruction has ordered the suspension of the detention of the suspect. This means that the suspect will be set free. There are conditions associated with this suspension that J.v.d.S has to comply with. If he does not comply with the conditions set upon his suspension by the judge of instruction, the prosecutor can petition the judge of instruction to suspend the suspension of his detention.
In the case of the two brothers S.K. and D.K. the prosecutor filed to motion to prolong their detention with a period of 8 days. The judge of instruction has decided to prolong the detention of the brothers S.K. and D.K. with 8 days. At the same time, he has ordered the suspension of their detention. This means that they will be set free. In their case the judge of instruction has also set conditions S.K. and D.K. have to comply with. If they do not comply with these conditions set upon them by the judge of instruction, the prosecution - can petition the Judge of instruction to suspend the suspension of their detention.
TODAY FRIDAY
The prosecutor has appealed the decisions of the judge of instruction in which he suspends the detention of the three suspects S.K., and D.K., and J.v.d.S.
Now it’s up to the Court of Appeals to set a date for the hearings.

On 9-2 PAUL REYNOLD’s said, “Obviously we are disappointed and shocked that any potential charges against Joran are being released. We are hopeful that a certain level of charges are still being considered. We hope the continued interrogation of the Kalpoe and Joran friends can give us more information. We believe the father has information. There were statements implicating such. We think it is appropriate to bring him in for additional questioning.
We are not giving up.
Those are responsible will be held accountable.
We are not going away.”
Sometime before 9-2 a person or persons in ARUBA painted an “anti-Alabama wall” in downtown Oranjestad. (scan saved) Someone(s) on eBay is auctioning a photograph of the wall, accompanied by the following descriptions, (auction title) “Anti-Alabama Wall in Aruba - NATALEE HOLLOWAY” (item description) “This is a 5x7 print of a digital photograph that was taken of the Anti-Alabama wall in downtown Oranjetad (sp), Aruba. This wall was put up by locals in Aruba to protest the bad things that Natalee Holloway's mom was saying about Aruba and its legal system after her daughter disapeared (sp) there. This was put up by locals to point out that Aruba is actually a far safer and more civilized place then Alabama is.”
(apparently, ZEDAN was discretely released by the ARUBAN Police the evening of 9-2)
On October 9, 2005 FOX News asked BETH, “How about your reaction to the news that when they searched the Joran's apartment, they failed to search the main house that was connected to his apartment that of course he had access to?,” BETH replied, “Oh, that bombshell was dropped the first week of August when I had a meeting with the prosecuting attorney. When I asked if the primary residence was searched, her response was ‘No.’ I could not believe it because Jug, Dave and I had known early on that in one of Joran's statements he specifically states he brings Natalee to his home at 1:40 am on the 30th.” When FOX News asked BETH “What is your thought on seeing Joran in Holland attending college like Natalee should be doing now?,” BETH replied, “My mind goes back to the judge that released Joran van der Sloot. I also think of now when I am hearing that it was the judge that the primary residence didn't need to be searched. I am wondering just how deep and just how far does Paul van der Sloot political connections go? Does it go to the judges that fly in from Curacao? Does it come from the Hague? Who are these people who are lobbying for Joran van der Sloot?"
On 9-2 the National Enquirer” reported:

TEEN CLAIMS JORAN DRUGGED AND RAPED HERBy DAVID WRIGHT A 16-year-old girl has told police she was drugged and raped at a party by Joran van der Sloot — heightening fears for the nightmarish last moments of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway. And The National Enquirer has learned that the girl's evidence is likely to prevent van der Sloot's release from prison in Aruba.Investigators were stunned by the story the teenager finally poured out on August 25 after months of soul searching. The new witness' identity is being closely guarded but we have learned that she's a slim, popular, above-average student at a public school and lives in a middle class neighborhood close to Oranjestad, the Caribbean island's capital. Her ordeal began, she claimed, this spring in a private home at a party attended by Joran and his friends."Many of the youngsters were drinking," revealed an insider. "Toward the end of the evening, the 16-year-old suddenly felt woozy. From her description, investigators believe that a date rape drug or maybe Ecstasy was slipped into her drink."She passed out and the next thing she claims to remember is coming back to consciousness and realizing she was being sexually assaulted by Joran."The drug detail is particularly telling because cops believe that Natalee, 18, was also slipped Ecstasy or a similar drug before she left a nightclub on May 30 with Joran and two friends. Former U.S. Secret Service agent Arthur Wood, who's been working unofficially on the case with Aruban authorities, told The National Enquirer: "The girl went to a police station and reported the alleged attack afterward... but apparently no action was taken."Since then she has been too frightened to even tell her parents what happened."Then, in late August, with the possibility looming that Joran might be freed, the frightened teen felt unable to keep her secret any longer."She went to a girlfriend's mother she trusted and confided the whole story to her," said Wood. The mother persuaded the girl to go with her to the office of local attorney Helen Lejeuz on August 25.Said Wood: "The police have now talked to her — and I'm told that she says she has two girlfriends, also age 16, who claim the same thing happen to them."The girl's testimony dramatically strengthens the case against Joran. Her charges came just one day before another breakthrough in the case. On August 26, prosecutors re-arrested the two men who were last seen with Natalee and van der Sloot — 21-year-old Deepak Kalpoe and his brother Satish, 18 — on suspicion of rape and murder "together with one or more people" in the Natalee case. The same day police also arrested Joran's close friend Freddy Arambatzis, 20, who they believe helped give him a false alibi early in the case. The Kalpoe brothers — who told police they left Joran alone with Natalee on a beach near the Marriott hotel before 2 am — were first arrested with Joran but were freed from prison in July."They were picked up again after a jogger came forward," revealed a source. "The jogger was out for a run the morning Natalee disappeared — and was able to corroborate the testimony of a previous witness, a gardener, who said he saw Joran, Deepak and Satish in a car near the beach between 2:30 and 3 am. That blew their stories out of the water."Sources says Arambatzis was detained on suspicion of criminal activity not connected with Natalee. But more importantly, says Wood: "Investigators desperately need somebody to talk — and Freddy may be the weak link the cops have been looking for."

Murder Suspects in teen’s disappearance released
Dutch youth, Surinamese brothers leave jail but must be available to police
All three suspects in the disappearance of an Alabama teenager were released from jail Saturday in a setback for the prosecution and the biggest blow yet to Natalee Holloway's family.Joran van der Sloot, an 18-year-old Dutchman, and two Surinamese brothers, Satish Kalpoe, 18 and Deepak Kalpoe, 21, were released on condition they remain in Dutch territory and be available to Police for questioning. The Kalpoe brothers emerged from prison dressed in jeans, carrying black plastic bags and accompanied by their lawyers."It's a happy day for the Kalpoe family," said David Kock, an attorney for Satish. At his home later, van der Sloot came out smiling, flung an arm around his father's neck and squeezed his mother's shoulder. He did not address reporters."We would like to express our happiness to have Joran back in our lives," said his mother, Anita. "His life has been turned upside down."She said her family had been the victim of "slander based on rumor and gossip. It is easy to destroy the lives of people, especially through the press."Van der Sloot's lawyer, Richie Kock, said the teenager would soon be going to university in Holland: "Joran will be trusted to be on his own in Holland and to do as he pleases," he said. "We do not have a parole system."As a Dutch citizen, van der Sloot is allowed to leave Aruba but must remain in Dutch territory, said Richie Kock. The Surinamese brothers must remain on the island because they have different visa requirements for traveling to other Dutch territories, said David Kock. The missing teen's mother, Beth Holloway-Twitty, renewed her criticism of the investigation."If the investigation had been handled properly during the first 10 days, the world would not have witnessed and experienced the pain and suffering my family and I have endured," Holloway-Twitty said. "For the rest of my life, I will continue to be the voice for my daughter, seeking justice in Aruba. Every parent would want the same justice for their child."The Holloway family has insisted that all three young men know what happened to the Alabama honors student, who vanished May 30 on the last day of a vacation to celebrate her high school graduation.Despite Saturday's releases, Police insist the investigation into Holloway's widely publicized disappearance will continue.
"The investigation continues. The case of Natalee Holloway has not concluded with these releases," Adolfo Richardson, the Police officer in charge, told The Associated Press on Friday. In fact, NBC News reported Saturday that Police and firefighters were at the scene of a "major dig," at the beachside area where van der Sloot said he last saw Holloway.
But legal observers in Aruba say the releases signal that the government had no case, more than three months after the disappearance.
"The prosecution doesn't know what criminal act occurred — acts which might be murder, kidnapping, rape," said attorney Arlene Skipper, a legal observer of the case. "It is still a missing-person case. ... The prosecution has a strong suspicion of foul play but no proof of it. ... If they had solid proof, they could close the case."
The missing teen's mother, Beth Holloway-Twitty, said Friday she was devastated by the news of the releases. The Holloway family has insisted that all three young men know what happened to Natalee —and family members have been critical of Aruban authorities' handling of the case, especially the initial investigation.

On 9-3 CNN reported that the prosecution is appealing the release of all three suspects.
On January 19, 2006 STEVE COHEN, member of the ARUBA “STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS TASK FORCE,” admitted to “Dr. Phil” "I opened the jail door for all three of them. It was nobody else. It was me. And my feeling was that we had lost. And then we didn't lose because we all sat together and said, 'We can figure this out.’" “I'm actually paid by the tourism industry, which is the Aruban Tourism Authority, and also a group called AHACA, which is an association of hotel owners on the island." When Dr. Phil acknowledges Beth's frustration with COHEN and asked what he would like to say to her, COHEN responded "I regret the rollercoaster of December. I think it was a mistake. I don't think our expectations were that it was going to yield that much, but I really do regret it. The last thing we want to do is be part of any of the emotional trauma that you've experienced up to this point.” “Forensic materials continue to be collected. I think we've got our hands on some forensic material now that may actually open up the doors to the final results of this case." Dr. Phil asks him, "From your opinion, based on what you know, do you believe that these boys are guilty of wrongdoing here?" Steve says that he does. "Do the prosecutors believe they are guilty of wrongdoing?" Steve says that they do. "Do you believe that [the boys] have available, intimate knowledge of what happened to her that night?" Again, Steve confirms that he does.
On 9-3 “Riehl World View” reported that based on a reliable source in ARUBA, there is a “major dig attended by Police and firefighters was going on at the location the Kalpoe brothers were said to have left Natalee Holloway and Joran van der Sloot on the night of her disappearance.”
TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that he was at the dig but nothing was found. TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that “we couldn’t ask questions, otherwise we would be whisked away” and “we could stay, take pictures and later ask questions.” TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that “they found some jeans, clothing, a machete, and some more things.” TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that he “asked all the lawyers this morning if their clients (the suspects) may have declared something these last few days, that made them suddenly dig again today, they said, ‘no way.’” TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that “I wasn’t told that they had found anything, so until then, I take it that nothing was found worth mentioning, but of course, this could be something for the appeal, which they might not share at this time with us.”
On 9-3 TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that “Janssen at this point is doing everything possible to have a case brought forward. If it were for her there would be one. At this point, there still is going to be a case.”
On 9-3 TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that “consider their freedom as temporary, without having to pay bail. It (pay-for-bail) does not exist within the Dutch system. The charges still apply, and they are still suspects, only, they can be at their homes instead of in jail.”
On 9-3 TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that there was an ARUBAN Police car in front of the Murder Suspects SLOOT’s home. “They received ‘official’ death threats according to law enforcement. That’s the reason for the Police car.” “Paulus told me he is very worried for his sons safety, based on the threats.”
On 9-3 TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that the prosecutor is appealing the court decisions to release all Current Murder Suspects, “so you can expect them all back in court as soon as next week” then he said they “might be in court next week.”
On 9-3 TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that the “the American press is packing.. most are leaving next week.”
On 9-3, when asked if he is surprised Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT is going to HOLLAND, TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that “I am, and others are too, suspecting that Joran may have left for Holland as early as tonight.” When asked If the judge rules in the prosecutions favor and decides to bring Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT back in to the KIA prison how hard will it be to get him back from Holland?, TITO LACLE reported to FOX News that “It would be on the next available flight.. that’s the condition.. they would go to his place, and arrest him.”
On 9-3 “Riehl World View” wrote “that another detainee, Freddy Arambatsis-Zedan was previously released discreetly without any charges being brought as it seems there was nothing substantial to the allegations for which he was thought to be a suspect. It's my understanding that Arambatsis-Zedan will likely leave the island, if he hasn't left already.”
On 9-3 Beth made a brief statement to the media in Palm Beach, Aruba. TITO LACLE was at the press conference, and later said, “I was at the conference.. she seemed very stressed at the beginning.. halfway thru it, she broke down.. and mentioned Natalee's writing on her embarkation card.. where her trip was only to be 4 days, but were.. 90 something days.. and that was 90 something too long.” Here is a transcript of what BETH stated….

Four and a half hours after Joran can der Sloot’s parents and defense attorney notified the international press on Thursday that Joran would be released Saturday, I received word that this was, in fact, true. I then learned that the Kalpoe brothers would also be released. So the suspects who took my daughter from Carlos and Charlie’s on the last night of her senior trip, who were the last to be seen with her alive, who offered at least a dozen different versions of what they did with her, and who admitted to committing or witnessing sexual assaults against her while she was unable to defend herself, are now free. Under the judge’s ruling, the Kalpoes must remain on the island, while Joran van der Sloot is permitted to travel to other countries. If the investigation had been handled properly during the first ten days, the world would not have witnessed and experienced the pain and suffering my family and I have endured - - and perhaps I would have the answers I have so desperately sought…for more than three months. I certainly hope that the fight for justice for Natalee Holloway has not ended in Aruba, because it’s just beginning from our home front in the United States.Natalee’s handwriting on her immigration card stated that the duration of her stay here would be four nights. She has been gone for 97 days; that’s 93 days too long, and I have painstakingly counted every one of them. Natalee’s family and the world expect Aruba to return her to her country. The reward offered is still active: one million dollars for her safe return, and 250,000 dollars for information on her whereabouts.I want to thank the Aruban citizens and Investigators who have supported us, as well as the Dutch interrogators from Holland. I especially want to thank all of the millions of people from all over the United States and many other countries who have sustained us with their prayers. And we still need your prayers. Without the support of our family and friends, as well as the international press, we never could have stood this long. For the rest of my life I will continue to be the voice for my dau'hter seeking justice in Aruba. Every parent would want the same justice for their child. Thank you.

9-4-05
On 9-4 CNN reported, “The prosecutor’s office said it would appeal.” “The attorneys for the Kalpoes said they had not read the terms of the release order, but a prosecutor said there were conditions. He did not say what they were.”
On 9-4 the “AP” reported that BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated she is leaving ARUBA. “I will never allow my daughter’s voice to be silenced, but I have exhausted all my avenues in Aruba,” BETH stated. BETH says she will visit ARUBA frequently. On 9-4 TILLMAN was pictured with BETH packing their luggage in preparations to leave ARUBA.
On 9-4 ANITA VAN DER SLOOT claimed the “AP” in a telephone interview, “We’re looking at the options. We’re taking it easy, day by day.” ANITA VAN DER SLOOT claimed he would not leave immediately.

9-5-05
On 9-5 the “AP” reported, “Prime Minister Nelson Oduber, who has previously said Aruban authorities made mistakes in the early part of the Holloway investigation, added that he could appreciate the ‘dismay’ of the missing teen's mother. ‘But, the case is not concluded. And we will continue to demand that the search for answers into what happened to Natalee will not cease.’”
On 9-5 FOX News reported that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT and Current Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT have left ARUBA and flown to HOLLAND.
On 9-5 the “AP” reported:

Dutch Murder Suspect in Holloway Case Leaves Aruba
ORANJESTAD, Aruba Sep 5, 2005 (AP)— A Dutch suspect in the disappearance of an Alabama teenager left Aruba to attend college Monday, while the country's leader pledged the investigation "will not cease" despite the release of the three suspects.
One of them, Joran van der Sloot, a Dutch youth who has acknowledged spending the evening with Natalee Holloway before her disappearance but denied any wrongdoing, left the island to attend college in Holland.
Van der Sloot is allowed to leave the Caribbean island but must remain in Dutch territory under terms of his release.
Prime Minister Nelson Oduber, who has previously said Aruban authorities made mistakes in the early part of the Holloway investigation, added that he could appreciate the "dismay" of the missing teen's mother.
"But, the case is not concluded. And we will continue to demand that the search for answers into what happened to Natalee will not cease," Oduber said in a statement released Monday.
The remarks from the prime minister, who is running for re-election this month, are the first since the release Saturday of van der Sloot, 18, and two Surinamese brothers.
Van der Sloot's mother, Anita, pleaded for the media to leave him alone.
"He's a good boy. It's enough," she told The Associated Press. She also expressed sympathy for Holloway's family in the telephone interview.
"I pray for Natalee and the Holloway-Twitty family and I'm still convinced she is alive," she said.
Holloway's mother, Beth Holloway-Twitty, left Aruba for her home in Mountain Brook, Ala. on Sunday, saying she had "exhausted all my avenues" after pressuring authorities since shortly after the teen disappeared on the final day of a high school graduation trip to the Dutch Caribbean island.
Holloway was last seen leaving a bar with van der Sloot and the two brothers, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe early on May 30. The three young men were released on condition they remain available to Police for questioning.

9-6-05
On 9-6 the girl who claims that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT date-rape-drugged then raped her has contacted “Court TV’s” Catherine Crier, and Crier gave some information about her situation today. The girl is still claiming that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT raped her after drugging her (this has nothing to do with the provocative bikini photos)
On 9-6 the prosecutors office issued the following:

Summary proceedings by file Public Prosecutor's Office in Natalee Holloway Case Oranjestad -- In the afternoon hours on Monday, September 5, 2005, the Public Prosecutor's Office started summary proceedings with the judge of instruction in the case of N. Holloway with regards to the scheduled departure of one of the suspects to Holland that same evening. The three suspects, S.K., D.K. and J.v.d.S., who were released conditionally by the judge of instruction on Saturday, September 3, 2005, received a request from the investigative team to voluntarily report to the members of the Police team investigating the disappearance of N. Holloway for further questioning. One of the conditions set by the judge of instruction was that the suspects must remain available for further investigation. On Monday, September 5th, the two brothers, S.K. and D.K. voluntarily reported themselves to the Police for further questioning. The third suspect J.v.d.S, was requested to report to the Police on Tuesday, September 6 2005. Yesterday in the afternoon hours the Public Prosecutor’s Office found out that the suspect J.v.d.S. was planning to leave Aruba for Holland that same night. The same afternoon the Public Prosecutor's Office started summary proceedings with the judge of instruction to prevent J.v.d.S. from traveling to Holland and to petition the judge of instruction to order the suspect to report to the Police for further questioning in the case.

On 9-6 SOUSA told Court TV that the ARUBAN Police Interrogators had scheduled a re-questioning of Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT for 9-6 (SOUSA stated that the questioning was scheduled for September 6, 2005, then, Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT was quickly scheduled to leave ARUBA for HOLLAND on that same September 6, 2005 evening flight). When ARUBAN prosecutors learned of Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT plans to leave ARUBA, there was a rapid prosecution appeal made September 6, 2005 to a DUTCH judge to restrict Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT to stay in Aruba. On September 6, 2005 the DUTCH judge declined the prosecutor’s appeal, and Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT left ARUBA for HOLLAND.

9-7-05
On 9-7 ARUBAAN's news-source "Amigoe.com" reported that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT “is going to study international business and management studies, an English-language, hbo-education” in The Hague.
On 9-7 ARUBAAN's news-source "Amigoe.com" reported, “The Revenue Service has asked the National Detectives to conduct an investigation on who has made the tax information of (Jossy) Mansur public. Mansur is the chief editor of Diario. Somebody had spread pamphlets with information on the 6-million florins tax debt that Mansur has. This happened during the hearing of the lawsuit that Prime Minister Nel Oduber (MEP) had instituted against Jossy Mansur and Diario.” “Besides a print-out of the revenue service, the pamphlets also showed requests for long-lease land in the hotel zone.”

9-8-05
On 9-8 MAMMANA stated to CNN, “I just want the people of Aruba to know that Natalee Holloway's mom, Beth Twitty, and Joe Mammana are coming back to Aruba. Hell is coming with them. We did not forget Natalee Holloway.”
On 9-8 BETH was back in ARUBA.
On 9-8 legal analyst WENDY MURPHY stated on Court TV about Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT and Current Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT :

Hey!, you didn’t have to book it to Holland.
You did!
Obviously, you're trying to run away, and that’s what guilty people do.
That’s why we're all suspicious.
I don’t care what the judge said.
I don’t care if they said it was okay.
The point is he could have stayed.
He didn’t.
He ran.
What a bunch of cowards.”

On 9-8 ARUBAAN's news-source "Bon Dia" reported about the 9-3 digging at the pond near the “Marriott Hotel,” “At around 7.30 in the morning, firemen started to drain the water in a pond north of the Marriott, next to the fishermen’s huts. This was done at the request of Jansen, who heads the team investigating the case of Natalee Holloway. The reason why they decided to conduct a rigorous search was because this is the last place that suspect Joran v. d. Sloot was with Natalee Holloway. After draining 80% of the water, they used a crane to look through the mud and found different items. There was a handbag in which there was a headband. Aside from this, the bag was full of rocks, which indicates that the person who threw it in the pond didn’t want it to be found. Aside from the handbag and the headband, they found 2 cloth bags, a machete, 2 items of drug paraphernalia and a shoe. All the articles were in the mud and had to be washed to determine if they had anything to do with the investigation. The work lasted until nightfall. All articles were confiscated and now they will be further looked into to see if they are related to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Yesterday during the day a few divers dove in the vicinity of the fishermen huts again to look for clues.”
On 9-8 GERALDO RIVERA opined on FOX News that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT was probably released because the DUTCH government ordered the DUTCH judge in ARUBA to do so (unconfirmed).
On 9-8 the ARUBA “Strategic Communications Task Force” issued the following:

Official Statement from the Aruba Tourism Authority Regarding the Natalee Holloway Investigation
The three suspects in the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway were released from Police custody in Aruba on September 3, 2005. The case is not closed, in fact, a thorough
investigation is still underway in Aruba. The suspension of detention for all three suspects does not speak to their guilt or innocence, but to the detention status only. This suspension can be compared to bail in the U.S. legal system, however in Aruba conditions of release are required rather than money.
As residents of the island of Aruba and not citizens, all three suspects face restrictions on their movement following their release from prison. Dutch-born Joran van der Sloot will be allowed to travel only within the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Surinamese-born Satish and Deepak Kalpoe face visa limitations that prohibit them from leaving the island.
A thorough investigation has been underway for over three months with the support of both local and international authorities. The massive island-wide search has taken place on land and sea. The extensive investigation continues, as this is still a missing person case.
The Government and the good people of Aruba remain completely committed to supporting Natalee Holloway's family.
Thousands of Aruban citizens have aided in the search for Natalee from the beginning, and the community-at-large have opened their hearts to the Holloway and Twitty families. This tragedy has affected the island deeply as it comes as a complete shock to Aruba where crime is nearly non-existent.
“We want the Holloway and Twitty families to know that we understand and share their dismay that they leave Aruba without the answers they so dearly want. I pledge to them that there will be a conclusion, and that the efforts of all Arubaans during this period will not have been in vain,” said Aruba’s Prime Minister, Nelson Oduber.
The island of Aruba continues to extend its sincerest thoughts and most heartfelt prayers to Natalee Holloway's family and friends.

9-9-05
On 9-9 a court hearing was held before a DUTCH judge where ARUBA Prosecutor KARIN JANSSEN appealed the release of Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT , Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE , and Current Murder Suspect SATISH KALPOE. Afterwards, TITO LACLE and Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s defense lawyer CARLO appeared on ARUBA radio 96.5 FM and said the results of today’s appeal will be announced 9-13 at 2:00pm. CARLO stated that he felt confident that the suspension of his client’s detention, Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT , will not be overturned. They also said that if by some far chance the judge rules in favor of the prosecution that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT has to return to serve the remainder of his 30 days in Jail, and, Current Murder Suspects KALPOE brothers will have to serve the remainder of their 8 days of detention. They also reported that the prosecutor has re-asked for DNA samples of Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT , and Current Murder Suspects KALPOE brothers. In order for the Judge of Appeals to decide, the prosecutor had to present valid reasons to compare the results to.
On 9-9 NATALEE’s Grandmaother ANN REYNOLDS stated:

'GIVE US OUR ANSWERS:' GRANDMOTHER VISITS ISLAND WHERE NATALEE DISAPPEAREDBy Judy Normand/OF THE COMMERCIAL STAFFFriday, September 9, 2005 8:56 AM CDTOn Aug. 15, the morning after their arrival in Aruba, Ann Reynolds of Pine Bluff and her niece, Kay Fisher of Little Rock, began trying to shake off the jet lag by taking a walk on the beach."It's such a beautiful place to be hiding such a terrible secret," they say and are begging the Dutch government to "just give us our answers, and we'll leave your island."The island, as described by Reynolds and Fisher, is "a poor and dirty place" -- something a television camera does not reflect, they said.Reynolds sat in the living room of her home at Pine Bluff recently, remembering her trip to Aruba. She was surrounded by images of her family that included dozens of snapshots and portraits of her granddaughter, Natalee Holloway, the missing Alabama teen who disappeared three months ago while on a graduation trip to the island."When we arrived," Reynolds said, "I saw a lot of young people leaving on another plane and I just thought, 'Maybe they'll get away safely.' I thought about Natalee getting off the plane in Aruba and not getting back on."Reynolds and her niece finally made the long trip to the tropical island on Aug. 14. They waited, she said, because that's when "Beth had the time for us."She spoke of Beth Reynolds Twitty, her daughter and Natalee's mother, whose dogged determination to find answers to questions about her daughter's disappearance has been met with sadness, frustration and, finally, anger. Two suspects -- Satish and Deepak Kalpoe -- thought to have had something to do with Natalee's disappearance, were taken into custody for the second time and released again after her visit, Reynolds said. The chief suspect, Joran van der Sloot, has now been set free. This situation, Reynolds said, has devastated her family."The Dutch government thinks they can do anything since the release of those boys and since that terrible tragedy with the hurricane. They think they can get her (Beth) off the island now," Reynolds said. "They're wrong."During their three days in Aruba, Reynolds and Fisher were given a tour, accompanied by Twitty, to places they'd only viewed through a television screen for the past three months -- the van der Sloot home, the lighthouse, the fishing huts, the sand dunes -- all the places identified as possible locations where Natalee was last seen. They also visited the police station and the jail where van der Sloot was then incarcerated."It put reality to these places, but it also hurt," Reynolds said, adding that Twitty was extremely busy all day, carrying two phones and "usually on one of them," attending meetings and taping television news interviews -- anything she needs to do to find her daughter. Reynolds indicated that Twitty had, out of necessity, become extremely organized in what she called a state of "bedlam.""When we arrived at the Wyndham, Beth said, 'Mom, you get to iron; Kay, you get to read mail,'" Reynolds said. "I hardly saw Beth the first day and, with all the phone calls and other things going on, you can hardly get a meal, but, in this world where we see so much hatred, the letters are uplifting. The letters are incredible and the amount is amazing. To have so many people praying for us, praying for Natalee, will just bring tears to your eyes."As strong as she seems, Reynolds said, her daughter stated emphatically that she was not OK."I asked her, and she said, 'Of course I'm not OK. I'm in terrible shape. I'm just so mad.' It's just been a nightmare -- up and down, up and down. But, Beth is not afraid, and she's working to have a boycott of Aruba. She just wants them to give her Natalee, alive or dead, and she'll leave and never say another word about Aruba and will never want another camera in her face."Reynolds said she attended Natalee's graduation in Mountain Brook, Ala., shortly before the fateful trip to Aruba."I watched her walk across that stage in those high heels, so strong and confident. And before she left, she'd already written and mailed most of her thank-you notes for her graduation gifts. I just don't know. When I go to church now, I sit near a doorway because a lot of times, because of the music that reminds me of Natalee, I can't sit there. I have to get up and leave. It's just so sad."

On 9-9 it was announced there will be 5 new DUTCH judges joining the common Court of Justice of the DUTCH protectorate NETHERLAND ANTILLES and ARUBA in the future. Their names are: - Mr. F. M. Wieland, vice-president district court in Groningen- Mr. C. Van den Noort, judge district court in Groningen- Mr. P. A. H. On 9-9 the “Pine Bluff Commercial” newspaper wrote, “A benefit concert for the family of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday (9-12) at First Presbyterian Church, 717 W. 32nd Ave.” “Music will be provided by Nashville recording artists, "Downhere," a Christian rock group from Canada. According to event organizer, Bruce Roberts, Twitty has indicated she will attend the benefit. The concert is free, Roberts said, but donations will be accepted to help offset expenses incurred by the family as they continue the search for Natalee. Details: Call (870) 718-3673.”
On 9-9 the “National Enquirer” reported:

EXCLUSIVE! NATALEE MOM'S HORRORBy DAVID WRIGHT Natalee Holloway's mother confronted her daughter's suspected killer, Joran van der Sloot, just minutes after he is believed to have dumped the honor student's body at sea.And when a frantic Beth Twitty begged a Policeman to search the trunk of his pal Deepak Kalpoe's car, the cop refused — passing up an opportunity to detect clues that could have cracked the case right then and there.Detectives in Aruba, where Natalee vanished on May 30, have been investigating this explosive new theory. The line of inquiry was fueled by yet another lie told by 18-year-old Joran, the prime suspect in the case, The National Enquirer has discovered. On September 1, a judge ordered Joran to be released from jail after being held for questioning since June 9. He still remains a suspect.Beth Twitty's drama began when she and her husband Jug flew to Aruba after learning that Natalee, 18, had failed to make the flight home with the rest of her graduating class from Mountain Brook High School, Ala.By the early hours of May 31, Beth had convinced a reluctant cop to help. He went with her to the "Holiday Inn" where Natalee and her classmates had stayed. There, they met a young man who brought up the names of Joran and Deepak and Satish Kalpoe — all later arrested on suspicion of rape and murder.Retired U.S. Secret Service agent Arthur Wood, who has been working with Aruban Investigators, said: "The kid agreed to lead the Twitty's and the officer to Joran's house. They got there around 3 am on May 31."Joran's father Paulus came out and the Policeman told him that the Americans were searching for their missing daughter, who'd last been seen leaving a nightclub with Joran around 1 am the previous morning."Paulus said he'd get Joran. Then he came back and said, 'He's not here.' He called Joran's cell phone and after speaking to him said, 'He says he's at the Wyndham hotel playing poker.'"They all headed for the Wyndham. But there was no sign of Joran in the casino. Since then I've questioned just about everyone at the hotel, and there is no indication Joran was ever there on the 31st."Paulus called Joran again, then told everyone, 'He's home now.' It was 4 am. The group went back to the house and found Joran and Deepak at the gate next to Deepak's Honda — the car in which Beth knew Natalee had left the nightclub the night before."Beth demanded: 'Where's my daughter?' Joran replied in a surly voice: 'I dropped her at the "Holiday Inn." What do you want me to do?'"Beth then begged the boys to open the trunk of the car and let the Policeman search it. Deepak didn't respond — and the Policeman wouldn't make him do it. We'll never know what clues Police might have found inside the car or the trunk because the Honda wasn't seized for several days."The belief is growing that Joran and Deepak may have just been coming back from getting rid of Natalee's body when Beth arrived at the house the second time."The theory is that they didn't have time to do it on the 30th — they needed someone with a boat, and it took them a day to arrange it. When Beth was at Joran's house the first time and was told he wasn't there, he may well have been disposing of her daughter's body just a few miles away."The latest Police theory also accounts for a fisherman's hut being broken into on the beach near where the three suspects say they last saw Natalee. The only items missing were a knife and some rope.Later the same day, another fisherman reported that one of his large wire mesh fish traps had been stolen — leading Investigators to believe that it may have been weighted down and used as a "casket" for Natalee's body.Said Wood: "It would have been very easy to hide her body in the dunes for 24 hours. And until Natalee's mom arrived in Aruba, no one was looking for her."

On 9-9 BETH stated to “CBS“ “Inside Edition”:
(Thank You and Hat Tip to “HockeyMom”)

Says prosecutors took advantage of the hurricane to release the suspects.Says Anita is in denial about her "good boy" Joran. The reporter asked Beth if she felt afraid on Aruba - she said that there was someone following her when she was there...

It was only a 5 minute interview. She watched, in disgust, the video of Joran arriving in the Netherlands. That woman with him (the one that looks like Anita) is his grandmother. (surprised me a little when the reporter said that, I thought it might be his Aunt). She seems to think the Dutch government took advantage of the destruction from Katrina to pull a fast one, letting the suspects go and allowing Joran to leave Aruba. It was also mentioned that she was in the processing of moving back to Alabama, but continuing to search for Natalee and to get answers.I felt like there was more she wanted to say, but couldn't. I think she wanted to remind folks about Natalee, so that the fact that she is missing is not forgotten amongst everything else that is going on.

On 9-10 the ARUBAAN's news-source "Bon Dia" reported:

Mother of Natalee Holloway Moves Back to The United States, But Will Be in Aruba Every Week
ORANJESTAD- Beth Twitty is back in Aruba, but tomorrow already she’ll go back to Alabama. Nevertheless, as she told American media, she’ll be coming to Aruba regularly to see what is happening with the investigation. Even more, it is her intention for her to come back every week.
The mother of Natalee Holloway is disappointed in the judicial system of Aruba. She does not hide this thought, not even for the local press anymore. Beth Twitty says that based on the comments that she saw, declarations of the three suspects that she read, that she finds it totally impossible for a judge to suspend the detention of Joran van der Sloot and the siblings Satish and Deepak Kalpoe. Even more, the lady told Bon Dia Aruba that the suspects were set free, just when they were starting to talk against each other.
Beth was met in her suite at the Wyndham Hotel, the suite that was her house for all these times. She is going to send the majority of her things back to Alabama, and she herself will return to Aruba “every week for a few days”, only with a suitcase. She already has a good understanding with the management of the hotel, who will keep on giving her accommodations.
Mrs. Twitty said that she saw the documents signed pa the three suspects, where specifically Joran van der Sloot admitted to have had sexual relations with Natalee, while the youngster [Natalee] was going in and out of unconsciousness. This according to the mother of Natalee Holloway is sufficient to show that Joran had sexual relations with the youngster without her consent, and as such, she thinks Joran must be sentenced for this. “This is rape”, Mrs. Twitty said.
The mother of the youngster of Birmingham, Alabama does not talk of murder , but she is convinced that a crime took place, based on the declarations of the three suspects. “I can’t say with assurance that Joran killed her, but I think that I have enough motive to think this. And my lawyer said, that on September 1st, the suspects were not denying that a crime had been committed.
Documents that she had access to, according to his own declaration, show that Joran van der Sloot changed his story at least 4 times, and not twice as he declared during his interview with “Exclusive.” [an ARUBAN local news show and news magazine].
Beth Twitty also says that she isn’t saying that Natalee didn’t drink alcohol during this trip. But “Natalee had the age to drink. She was 18 years old, and she didn’t break any laws. Joran did break the law, by being in a night club, in a casino without having the age.”
I’m Not Staying Quiet Anymore
Beth Twitty said that she has a lot of information and out of respect for the Investigative Corps, she didn’t talk. But now she has no trust anymore. For two weeks already, she has no contact with Karin Janssen, who also gave the order to Eric Soemers to avoid talking to the family of Natalee. “It was very hard to stay professional, and to keep information confidential. But now I can’t say quiet anymore. Why was I protecting the integrity of this investigation?” the lady said, adding that the Police ignored many aspects of this case, that eventually hindered the investigation. All these constant errors, make her think about a ‘cover-up’ and she keeps on thinking this.
The lady tells that where there were mistakes made, starting with her own declaration taken by the Police, the night that they went to Joran’s house at Montanja. Beth Twitty tells that she signed a document of her declaration and trusted that everything would be right. The document was in Dutch. After a time she was able to get copies, and sent these to the U.S. to be translated. And when the translation arrived, three days later, she lady noticed that the declarations were not what she had given.
Beth Twitty has heavy criticism against the Aruba judicial system, but does not know who to blame. She is aware that the judges make the decisions, but she thinks that there is inconsistencies in the documents, as it was the case in her own declarations, and these make it so that the judges took the decision to suspend the detention.
On the other hand, both lawyer Anthony Carlo and Joran van der Sloot insist that there was not a change in declaration, except the first time when he lied that he left Natalee at the "Holiday Inn" Hotel. Also, Joran insists that he is innocent, and that he hopes that the investigation can go on so that he show that he is free of guilt.
Pressure of the United States
Beth Twitty stands on the fact that Aruba authorities took advantage of Katrina and its effects on the United States to let the three youngsters go, since it was known that the attention of the U.S. media would be on New Orleans and other areas. Just like she also criticizes the fact that the DTZ [Department of Technical Affairs] suddenly raised the price for a ’satellite up link’ from $800 to $4000. She feels that these were attempts of Aruba to chase the American press away.
Also, she herself has received a call from one of the members of the Strategic Group (she did not mention specific names, but she did talk about John Paulie, Bob Dilella, and Steve Cohen), that asked her “what day will you finally leave Aruba.” This question created a determination that Twitty must keep on coming.
And this time she has another group that will help her in her search, Joe Mamanna. Mamanna is a philanthropic millionaire, who believes in vengeance and said in the U.S., that “hell will come with him to Aruba.” When Beth Twitty was asked what she thinks this makes Arubaans think, she answered: “I cannot comment on what other people think.”

On 9-11 BETH returned to the UNITED STATES.
On 9-11 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated to FOX News:
(Thank You and Hat Tip to the “Scared Monkeys blog")

GERALDO: On Tuesday, Sept. 6th, the Dutch teenager, Joran van der Sloot , the prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, arrived in the Netherlands following his release from prison a couple of days earlier in Aruba. van der Sloot , who has acknowledged spending the evening with Natalee before her disappearance but has denied any wrong doing arrived in the Amsterdam airport with his dad, another potential suspect in the case. He /they ignored all questions from the reporters and quickly departed the airport. Our next guest, our dear friend, believes that the government in Aruba took advantage of our intense, very necessary and appropriate focus on Hurricane Katrina to make this dramatic move and let van der Sloot sleaze his way off the island of Aruba. Beth joins us tonight from Little Rock. So, first of all hi, how’s your spirits? BETH: Hi Geraldo. Well it’s pretty tough hanging in there with all that has happened, and you are exactly right, Geraldo. It was a PR dream for the Dutch government to take advantage of such a catastrophic event in the United States in order to release these suspects. Geraldo: Were you down there kind of screaming don’t forget us as they got to the airport and got on the plane? BETH: Well, it’s just incredible that they chose to act under these circumstances. I think it just shows the world that . . . what all that we have been put through, . . . and when there’s involvement with the Dutch government, as we have been in Aruba. GERALDO: It shows the world, Beth, but never the less the prime suspect in the disappearance of your daughter is now free, although technically I guess he remains a suspect. After the arrest of that other guy and the Kalpoe brothers on that rape tape of the 14 year old I thought they were going to be in for awhile, or at least they would be in, but they are out too, aren’t they? BETH: Oh, yes, Geraldo. You know when I heard you state that Joran is still stating that he had no involvement with her disappearance but something that Jug and Dave, Natalee’s father and I have had knowledge of since early in July, so we have Joran’s statements. We have had them translated for us, and we have at least five. You know, Geraldo, what has been so difficult for us is that we have had this knowledge that Joran has admitted to having sex with Natalee AT HIS HOME as she is coming in and out of consciousness. You know we have protected the integrity of the investigation because we felt that was the professional way to handle this but you know when we have been slapped in the face by the Dutch government and . . . GERALDO: You say that van der Sloot admits in his Police statement that he is having sex with your daughter, whom I believe was a virgin before she went to Aruba, as she lapses in and out of consciousness? BETH: Absolutely Geraldo. GERALDO: Isn’t there a law , as I recall, one of the things the Kalpoe brothers were suspected of in the porno tapes that they did with the 14 year old was having sex with someone with whom did not have the capacity to give consent. Its seems to me that if your daughter was phasing in and out of consciousness she can not legally consent to have sex. BETH: Absolutely, Geraldo, that’s why we were so shocked on Sept. 1st because even the Dutch interrogators that have knowledge of these statements, the lists of inconsistencies are there, the reasonable doubt is there. We were just trulyshocked that the sudden release of these suspects. We just can not fathom how this has happened and how rape is not a crime within the Dutch government. GERALDO: It is outrageous, Beth. I really didn’t know about those statements. You say there are more. You should really share them with me and I will, not necessarily now, but I will blast them, believe me. I told you I would be there to the end with you and I will be. I think it is really wretched, it really is. So what are you going to do now? BETH: Well, Geraldo, I think that we have had so many millions of people that have supported us in prayer and have sent of cards and emails. The main thing that we would like to ask right now is to please, please just consider not traveling to Aruba or within the Dutch Kingdom and territory until Natalee is returned to her country, because they can absolutely make this happen, Geraldo. GERALDO: Make happen what? What do you want? Do you want a boycott on Aruba? BETH: I would please like for them to consider not to travel to Aruba until she is returned, and the Dutch Kingdom territories, Geraldo. You know if we did not feel that they knew exactly where she was we would not be seeking this, but we have been such slapped in the face by the present government that is in place that its just hard for us not to begin to make this request now. GERALDO: How is your boy faring, starting school, he’s 16 right? BETH: Well, actually Geraldo, he is 17 now. I am going to see him Tuesday. I just flew in from Aruba this morning. I am going to spend a week in Birmingham and I am looking forward to that. We are gong to be re-grouping. This is not over. We are going to continue, Geraldo. GERALDO: Save your strength. You know we love you. Courage. Regards to everybody. Really, call me with that data because I will use it, I will whack them with it. BETH: Ok, Thanks Geraldo.

I wanted to share with you all, it was in the local language and i translated it as is: Steve CroesFor curiosity i got myself locked up and after that without a job.It was a name that travelled around the world as one of the suspects behind the Natalee Holloway case. For 10 days Steve Croes was locked up at the polisstation in Playa, sleeping on a concrete bed, thinking about how God can help him for somebody to believe that he didn't know anything about the Holloway case.About 6 years ago Steve Croes came to Aruba to live. In Curacao he was a dj at a night club and it was till 3 years ago he got the job he wanted. I always said that my job as a discjocky on the boat Tattoo was unique, because they paid me to do what i liked and to "have fun". His taste for music is nothing strange considering that his mother is a singer and his father has a band and also was a dj in his younger years. Steve's envolvement in the Holloway case started when he visited an internet cafe at Playa. There was where he heard Deepak talking on the phone with another person making comments about how they dropped of the American teenager at a hotel and she fell. The girl didn't want any help but they helped her to get up. Deepak also said that even that he knows his phone is tapped he doesn't worry because he knows he is telling the truth. What Steve just heard made him curious and decided to go to Deepak and decided to lie to him saying that he was in the neighborhood of the hotel and that he saw them dropping of the girl. I told Deepak this just to see what else he might say to me but when Deepak realized what i said he told me that i could be a witness for him and his friends then. I backed out but obviously they used my lie to protect themselves to the polis what resulted in my arrest for 10 long days. Steve was asleep when hard knocking outside waked him up. Several polis were outside and they informed him that he is arrested in connection with the Holloway case.10 days of reflection on a lie that did cost a lotThe 10 days that Steve stayed locked up at the polis station were everything but not nice. The bed of concrete, solitaire, mosquito's and the darkness where my biggest problems to deal with. I prayed everyday asking God to please let somebody believe me that i had nothing to do with this case and to let me go. There were moments that i lost faith of being released. Finally when i got my liberty it was a moment of joy and sadness at the same time as my lawyer informed me that the lawyer of my ex-boss had informed him that they wanted to end my contract. I had given the boat Tattoo a bad name and i am not the appropiate face to keep working for them. As i am not a problematic person i accepted their decision and took a 1 month salary and my vacation days they had offered me. Today Steve is happier. He just got a job at Carlos & Charlies, as a discjockey again, the job the he loves. What he learned: Curiosity kills the cat!

9-12-05
On 9-12 there was a fundraiser in PINE BLUFF, ARKANSAS that BETH attended.

9-13-05
On 9-13 a Wheeling, WV TV station reported that “Wood believes Natalee's body is in the water. He believes Dutch authorities have orchestrated a cover-up, including evidence against the Prime Murder Suspect in the case, Joran van der Sloot. Wood claims pieces of evidence are missing including phone records and a belt he found in the sand dunes sent to Dutch authorities. He claims no d-n-a tests were ever done.”
On August 25, 2005 ART WOOD reported he talked with the ARUBAN Police about the pants belt found near the “California” lighthouse by GOLBA. ART WOOD was told by ROY TROMP that the ARUBAN Police determined--on their own, without any forensic testing ever even being completed--that, in the ARUBAN detectives opinions, the belt was “too old” to have been Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s, and that is the reason the ARUBAN Police have never sent the belt to HOLLAND for forensic testing.
From page 3 of the early November 2005 letter sent by NATALEE’s Loved Ones to ARUBAN law enforcement in which the family asked for specific persons to be replaced: “Art Wood states that Jacobs and Police Chief Dompig discarded potential evidence discovered near the lighthouse: belt and some plastic items. A shoulder bone with meat on it was found near the California lighthouse and discounted by Dennis Jacobs as a donkey bone. Art Wood contends that it is a human bone.”

On 9-13 CNNHN reported:

(MUSIC)NANCY GRACE, HOST: That's right. Him. Joran van der Sloot. He left Aruba. He's in college now. I don't know if he's going to return for Police questioning or not. In the chaos and the disaster of Hurricane Katrina, did Joran van der Sloot slip through the cracks? With us tonight, a very special guest, Beth Twitty. Beth, thank you for being with us. What is your response to these three, the three chief suspects, being released? BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY'S MOTHER: Well, you know, Nancy, I was thinking, I knew there was corruption and cover-up involved. But I certainly didn't know they were cowards either, and to hide beneath the cloak of Hurricane Katrina is just reprehensible. And you know, I think -- I think of the Dutch government, and I want to keep the focus on this political party in place, NEP (ph). I think of this judge, Rick Smid. And I can't imagine putting the suspects' rights or the suspects, you know, before the victim of Natalee, and that why should he choose to be concerned about Joran attending university in The Hague? It just is unbelievable. GRACE: That's why he let him out, so he could go to school? TWITTY: Well, I think that the judge was concerned about Joran beginning college and wanted to have him pursue that. GRACE: What about Natalee starting college? Is anybody worried about that? TWITTY: Evidently, they're not. GRACE: What was the grounds? Why did they release them? TWITTY: You know, Nancy, there was absolutely no -- no grounds for them to be released. And I spoke with the Dutch interrogators. And even as of September the 1st, things were really progressing well, and Joran and Deepak and Satish, they had -- these young men had divided, and they were not denying a crime anymore. They were merely implicating each other. And the list of inconsistencies was presented before Judge Smid. The reasonable doubt was there. I don't have any idea why he fled the island and then faxed a reversal decision. It just is incredible. GRACE: Beth, where were you when you got the news that van der Sloot was going to be released? TWITTY: I was in my hotel room. But Nancy, you know, here's another example of how the defense attorneys and this judge and Paulus van der Sloot are running the show, because do you know that Anita and Paul van der Sloot were bragging to -- and Antonio Carlo were bragging to international media four and half hours -- four and a half hours -- before they had the decency to tell me. The FBI didn't know. The American consulate didn't know. My attorney didn't know. You know, it just shows they're running the investigation. GRACE: I want to go to Jossy Mansur, managing director and editor of "Diorio" newspaper. Jossy, I am stunned that these three have walked. Not only that, one's off the island. One is back at his job at the Internet cafe, running the cash register. But Jossy, what do the residents of Aruba have to say about this? JOSSY MANSUR, EDITOR, DIORIO: You know, it wasn't a very happy reception by the people. The people were as flabbergasted as we are that this happened, the more so because the arguments that the judge used, if that Mr. Joran van der Sloot expresses desires to continue his studies, and he gave that preference over everything else. GRACE: Where is van der Sloot now? MANSUR: He's in The Hague, in Holland. GRACE: So he can travel freely between Aruba and other Dutch territories? He can get on a plane and just leave? MANSUR: Yes, ma'am, he can go to Holland, he can go to Aruba, Curacao, Bonair (ph), St. Martin, Saba (ph) and San Bestaces (ph). GRACE: Debra Opri, response? OPRI: I'm flabbergasted too, but let's look at the facts. The judge is the ruler here. He said there's no evidence to further hold him beyond that September deadline, and he released him, and he let him stay within the jurisdiction. However, my heart breaks for Beth. And if you're listening, all I can tell you is, you may have to face the fact that you may never know what happened to your daughter. And these gentlemen, unless the guilt eats away at them at a point later in life where they eventually talk, this may, in fact, become an unsolved crime. I mean, even if -- even if that body were to wash ashore today, what's left of it. GRACE: You know, Debra Opri, I'm not quite ready to give up on the investigation and accept that it's all done, just because some judge makes an erroneous ruling, for Pete's sake. You know, this doesn't have to be the end of the story. I want to go back to Beth Twitty and ask you, Beth, is there anywhere to go at this juncture? TWITTY: Well, Nancy, I actually think there is, and I've had five of Joran's statements that are printed in Dutch translated for me. You know, he states specifically in one of his statements, he prefaced it with, well, now, my third statement was not true, now here's the truth. We drove -- I drove Natalee to my home at 1:40 a.m. on May 30th. He says he has sex with her. You know, if kidnapping -- and she's coming in and out of consciousness when -- as he's describing her in these statements. You know, if kidnapping and rape is not a crime within the Dutch government, well, then there is -- then the Dutch government is serving no purpose. GRACE: Beth, what do you have to say to people that suggest you just have to accept this laying down? TWITTY: Well, Nancy, I just don't feel that we have to accept this. And you know, we'll hopefully -- you know, hoping tomorrow that maybe some of these rulings will be appealed and that Joran could possibly be reincarcerated, you know. I just can't give up hope on this, Nancy, because the evidence was presented before the judge -- the inconsistencies, the reasonable doubt, it was there. GRACE: Marc?KLAAS: Me?GRACE: Yes.KLAAS: Well, I'll tell you, this is -- it's a sleazy and corrupt system, justice system, and sleazy and corrupt systems exist all over this world. And people have to understand that if they're going to foreign countries or if they're sending their children to foreign countries, they're going to be subject to the laws of those countries. And there's very little that the United States government will do to help anybody. I think that they've probably helped more in this case than almost any other international case that I've ever been witness to. But still, she's standing there with fewer options every day. GRACE: Beth, the way you described Joran van der Sloot's statement to me is overwhelming evidence of guilt.TWITTY: Absolutely, Nancy. And [Jug] and Dave and I, Natalee's father, have had knowledge of these statements since before July. But we have been so respectful of the system and trying to allow it to work. But as we've seen, that it, you know, this present political party in place has just failed Natalee greatly. GRACE: Beth, I'm stunned at the judge's ruling. You talked about appeals coming up. What are they? TWITTY: Well I know that one of them is seeking for the re- incarceration of Joran van der Sloot. And also for the three young men to submit DNA. So of course...(COMMERCIAL BREAK)GRACE: This beautiful girl, Natalee Holloway, went missing on her high school senior trip. Last seen with three locals. They have now been released. With us tonight, Natalee's mother, Beth Twitty. Beth, how do you keep going? That's my question for you tonight. TWITTY: Well, Nancy, the support group in Birmingham is just incredible. And, you know, from there, it just spread throughout the world. I mean, whether in California or Florida, people are coming up to me, and they are just, you know, everyone is expressing genuine -- that their thoughts and prayers are with us, and they're supporting us. And that's what keeps us going every day. GRACE: Beth, do you think we're ever going to know what happened to Natalee? Where she is?TWITTY: You know, Nancy, that will be unbelievable if we don't know, because there are so many individuals within her -- that involve involvement with her crime that know exactly where she is. And it can be - - it can happen. They can let us know. This is not something that should be a secret there, Nancy.GRACE: You know, Beth, it amazes me that justice is left up to the possibility that one day Joran van der Sloot may get drunk or inebriated and tell someone what happened. That is not justice. This is not justice. TWITTY: And you know, Nancy, I keep thinking, you know, what would happen if? What would happen if Joran van der Sloot met the judge's daughter one night, and she were to wind up missing the next day with all these sexual assaults committed against her? I mean, you know, people have to stop and think of the what if. And you know, when you stop and you put yourself or your daughter in Natalee's shoes, then you begin thinking a little differently. GRACE: With us tonight, Natalee's mother, Beth Twitty. Beth, I know you've heard this so many times. But our thoughts and prayers are with you still and with Natalee. TWITTY: Thank you, Nancy.

On 9-14 the DUTCH Superior Court ruled on the prosecutors appeal of the release of Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT , Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE , and Current Murder Suspect SATISH KALPOE “The Superior Court terminated the suspended detention completely for all three suspects. The Superior Court is in the opinion that there is not strong enough evidence or serious motive to continue the detention.” The DUTCH Superior Court also ruled that the Murder Suspects can travel anywhere in the world. Separately, the DUTCH court also rejected a request by Investigators to take another DNA sample from the Current Murder Suspects KALPOE’s, citing insufficient evidence, said RUUD OOMEN, an attorney for Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE. The lawyer said the brothers had no plans to leave ARUBA and would cooperate with authorities.
On 9-14 SOUSA said to the “AP” about the DUTCH Superior court (appeals court) decision to not re-arrest Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT and the Current Murder Suspects KALPOE’s, “Of course, it's not what we were hoping for, but I'm convinced that this is not the end of the investigation.”
On 9-14 the prosecutor’s office said in a brief statement that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT , Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE , and Current Murder Suspect SATISH KALPOE all remain suspects in the 5-30 disappearance of NATALEE HOLLOWAY.
On 9-14 MSNBC reported:

RITA COSBY, HOST: And there is shocking news tonight in the Natalee Holloway case from Aruba. The main suspect writes us an exclusive letter. We‘re going to tell what you he said. This comes as the judge made a major ruling only a few hours ago that could put an end to the whole saga. We‘re also going to talk to Natalee‘s mom.

And still ahead, everybody, we‘re going to switch gears just a little bit. The main suspect in the Natalee Holloway case in Aruba, Joran van der Sloot, writes us an exclusive letter. Find out what he has to say. This comes on a day of a major decision taking place. And Natalee‘s mom, Beth Holloway Twitty, is going to join us live to tell us what she has to say.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
COSBY: And while we have been here in New Orleans talking about Hurricane Katrina, we have received some very interesting mail. Joran van der Sloot who is the prime suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance sent us a handwritten letter. It was written while he was still in prison in Aruba and after our NBC News crew visited him in jail. In it he said, quote, “I don‘t think it is the best idea for you to come visit me here in KIA,” which is the prison there in Aruba, “because you‘re only allowed visits once a week. And I would like to use that time with my parents and friends.”
He also said, quote, “When I‘m released, we will talk one way or another, I promise you that.”
The letter was signed, quote, “Regards, Joran van der Sloot.”
And you can see his handwriting right there.
Well, we got Joran‘s letter on the heels of a major hearing today in Aruba that basically cuts right at the heart of the prosecution‘s case. The judge saying that Joran van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers could no longer be held because of, quote, “a lack of sufficient evidence.”
The three men remain suspects in the Holloway case, however. And to catch you up on the case, Joran van der Sloot was released from the Aruban prison just a few weeks ago. He‘s now attending college in the Netherlands flying there just days after being set free.
Joran‘s friends, the brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe were released the very same day.
And with us now on the phone from Aruba is Antonio Carlo, Joran van der Sloot‘s attorney. Antonio, the prosecution basically was totally undercut today. The judge saying that there wasn‘t sufficient evidence. I‘m sure you and your client have to be happy with the news.
ANTONIO CARLO, JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ‘S ATTORNEY: Yes, of course, I spoke with my client today in Holland. And he was very happy to hear the decision of the court of appeals.
COSBY: Now, the ruling does still say that they‘re still calling them suspects. So, they‘re not eliminating that other evidence could come down the road. Is that correct?
CARLO: No. This ruling has no bearing whatsoever on whether they remain suspects or not. It only—the court of appeals only terminated the pretrial detention. That‘s what the only decision taken by the court of appeals today.
COSBY: But it certainly sends a strong signal when they say that there was not sufficient material. What do you think of the prosecution‘s case against your client, Antonio?
CARLO: No. Again, I‘m not going to speculate about—this is now up to the public prosecutor to decide what further steps to take.
COSBY: Did your client have anything to do, Antonio, with the disappearance of Natalee Holloway or anything in a possible cover-up?
CARLO: I have said it many times before. My client maintains his innocence.
COSBY: And Antonio, what is your client doing now? Because a lot of people were wondering why he left the country so quickly. What is he doing?
CARLO: No. He left not quickly. But he had to go to Holland on short term because the course he is attending—he‘s attending a college in Holland. And he is following the course in international business management. And he had to be in time so he can enroll and be part of the classes that have begun like two weeks ago.
COSBY: All right, Antonio, thank you very much. We appreciate you being with us.
And joining us now is Beth Holloway Twitty. Of course, the mom of Natalee Holloway.
Beth, you know, last time you and I spoke, we were both in Aruba. It was before the decision was made. All of the men were behind bars. It looked like they were rounding up some more. This has got to be heartbreaking for you today.
BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY‘S MOTHER: Oh, it‘s just devastating, Rita. But, you know, Rita, you were on the island with me. You know, I don‘t even think any of us are surprised by the appeals being denied. I think we‘ve known early on, since as early as June 1 where this was going, Rita. And that‘s what is so sad about this whole tragic ordeal is we‘ve been dragged through it, not only the family but the entire world has been dragged through it.
And I‘m so grateful that they‘ve been able to, you know, I‘m not alone in experiencing and witnessing everything that they‘ve done to us.
COSBY: What do you make of Joran van der Sloot? I don‘t know if—
I‘m sure you heard at the beginning. He wrote us a letter, Beth, saying that he would talk to us soon. We‘ll see if he keeps true to his word. But here he is, we just heard from his attorney. He‘s going to school in the Netherlands, moving on with his life.
Are you concerned? He‘s out of the country. He‘s out of jail. Are you worried that this is falling apart now?
TWITTY: Well, Rita, like I said, we‘ve been worried as early as June 1 when we saw torn statements at a police station. We‘ve had falsified documents. I mean, we‘ve seen key elements omitted from uniformed police officers‘ statements. We‘ve had a D.E.A. whose statement was never taken.
You know, I think the handwriting‘s been on the wall early on. We just chose to take the high road and really tried to remain respectful of the Dutch government and allow it to work. But as you can see, it has not worked. It has failed terribly.
COSBY: You know, now when you and I were in Aruba, Beth, there was a sense that they were closing in on the folks and trying to use leverage on one another. I cannot think of the timing of it all. Suddenly, the American press leaves because of a disaster in our country and all three boys get led let out. What do you make of what is happening in the Aruban government?
TWITTY: Oh, you know, September 1, the interrogations were going well. The Dutch interrogators were getting information from—these young men had divided. Joran and Deepak and Satish had divided. They were not denying a crime anymore. They were implicating each other. And, you know, the prosecuting attorney, the defense attorneys are there. You know, everyone was absolutely shocked when the judge reversed his ruling. You know, it was just perfect timing. It was a P.R. dream for the Dutch government to release these suspects.
COSBY: Yeah. And I tell you, my jaw dropped when I heard the news too. Because there was a different climate when I was there just a day or two before.
Beth is the search still going on? And what are going to plan to do now?
TWITTY: Well, you know, I‘ll be forever grateful for Jossy Mansur, who is there. And he has been so instrumental. And he‘s just a hero to all of us. And his son, Eduardo Mansur, you know, they‘re always coming up with different places and areas to search. I believe that they were trying to get together a dive group and were concentrating on a specific area to search.
And, you know, he‘s my only hope on the island. And we‘ll be forever grateful to him.
COSBY: Are you, Beth, planning on going back to Aruba? What are your plans?
TWITTY: Oh, absolutely. We will keep going back to Aruba over and over again. This is far from over. They know—they have the answers there on the island. and what is so strange when I hear Joran‘s letter that he is written to you all is when he‘s released. Know, it‘s not if, but it‘s when. So, the defense attorneys have been running the show since the beginning.
COSBY: Well, Beth, we thank you. We continue to keep you in our prayers. And I know you‘re going to be back with us on Monday night with also “America‘s Most Wanted” host John Walsh. And we‘ll talk with you more then. Thanks so much, Beth. It‘s good to talk with you.

On 9-14 MSNBC reported:

DAN ABRAMS, HOST: And Joran van der Sloot is in school in the Netherlands, the key suspect in Natalee Holloway‘s disappearance out of jail and out of Aruba. We‘ll talk with Natalee‘s mother live.

there is breaking news out of Aruba. A judge has issued a big ruling in the case of missing Alabama teen, Natalee Holloway. This after Joran van der Sloot was released from jail almost two weeks ago. Natalee‘s mother joins us next.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY‘S MOTHER: The suspect who took my daughter from Carlos N‘ Charlie‘s on the last night of her senior trip, who the last to be seen with her alive and who offered at least a dozen different versions of what they did with her and who admitted to committing or witnessing sexual assaults against her while she was unable to defend herself are now free.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ABRAMS: While the nation geared up for Hurricane Katrina about a week and a half ago, there was stunning news in the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway in Aruba. On September 3, all three suspects in her disappearance released from jail. They remain free today.
There was a ruling today that the three suspects do not have to give DNA samples and that Joran van der Sloot does not have to return to jail. The other suspect, the Kalpoe brothers, Satish and Deepak, had been jailed, released once, then rearrested August 26 on rape and murder charges. Now they are free again.
Joran van der Sloot jailed since June 7, also now a free man. He returned home to cheers from friends and family.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(APPLAUSE)
ANITA VAN DER SLOOT, JORAN VAN DER SLOOT‘S MOTHER: What happened to Joran from being a happy 17-year-old teenager could have happened to any other 17-year-old boy here in Aruba. It is an eye-opener for a lot parents who have teenagers. Joran looked at a very bright future, just graduated, accepted at a lot of universities and was ready to go to Tampa to study. His life has been turned upside down completely.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ABRAMS: Days later, van der Sloot boarded a plane for the Netherlands where he‘s taking classes at a local university. Natalee Holloway was supposed to go to the University of Alabama. Classes started there three weeks ago today.
Joining me now is Natalee Holloway‘s mother, Beth Holloway Twitty. Beth, thanks. Good to see you again. All right, so what is your reaction to this ruling today?
TWITTY: Well I was just listening to Anita van der Sloot and how she was describing Joran and that you know what happened to him could happen to any other Aruban 17-year-old male and you know that‘s simply not true, Dan. And you know no other 17-year-old Aruban young man would have abducted and raped a young female American tourist. You know I just—it‘s just incredible that this Dutch young man chose to, you know, commit this horrendous crime against Natalee.
ABRAMS: You are obviously convinced that he is responsible. What do you think happened? I mean why was he ultimately released and the Kalpoe brothers?
TWITTY: You know, I‘ve seen several of Joran‘s statements and I don‘t know why he was released. I hope that these statements were not withheld from evidence presented before the judge of instruction because they are hugely, hugely showing his involvement in this crime against Natalee. I mean he has her coming in and out of consciousness, repeatedly throughout his statements. You know he admits to bringing her to his home and even gives a date and a time, 1:40 a.m. on May the 30th, and has sex with her in his home. You know, I just hope those statements made it before the judge of instruction.
ABRAMS: Yes, because it does seem hard to believe. I mean you can understand—I haven‘t seen these statements, but if this is in those statements, it does seem hard to believe that a court would have released them and so anything else out there? I mean, there‘s got to be something else that led it them to say, look, we just don‘t have it on him.
TWITTY: Well, they do have it on him. And you know, this is—I think that they‘ve just shown the world in how that, you know they‘ve chosen to hide underneath the cloak of Hurricane Katrina. And I knew there was corruption, but I had no idea that they were going to be cowards involved in this and take advantage of the situation.
ABRAMS: I should say that we asked the attorneys for Joran van der Sloot to come on the program tonight. They declined. Look, this—you—this story has gone to the backburner as a sort of news story in the last week and a half as a result of Katrina. Are you concerned that it is not going to stay in the public consciousness and as a result that it‘s really going to be over in terms of the investigation?
TWITTY: No, Dan, I‘m not. And you know, no matter where I am,
whether I‘m in Florida or I‘m in California, you know people have Natalee -
they are carrying her so safely in their thoughts and prayers. And you know I‘m not concerned about that, Dan, and you know we will continue to fight to search for truth and justice. But the media has been just absolutely wonderful to Natalee. As you—as everyone can see, it takes just—it takes that amount of pressure on this Dutch government in order for them to you know have some accountability in what has happened to a female tourist on their island.
ABRAMS: Do you plan to go back?
TWITTY: Oh, yes. I will return as possibly as early as the middle of next week. So we will continue doing this until we have answers, until they step forward and have some responsibility for what has happened.
ABRAMS: Do you blame the prosecutors or you blame the judges? I mean are you happy with the work the prosecutors have been doing?
TWITTY: Well I think first and foremost, I blame this Dutch government that is involved on the island right now, the MEP Party (ph). I mean I think they have failed Natalee greatly. You know, I can‘t imagine this Judge Smith (ph) ruling—you know choosing to release Joran from prison when he has all this evidence presented before him.
You know something now that concerns me, Dan, is I gave a statement to a detective on June 1 and of course they‘re printed in Dutch and translated to English for me, and I signed it. Well that same day, the same detective brought me another statement and asked me to sign it because they had to change the date and I did. Well I just found out a week ago, Dan, that it‘s not my statement. It had been altered greatly. So it‘s just hard to tell what all has happened since the beginning. It‘s just been unbelievable.
ABRAMS: Yes. All right, Beth, thanks a lot for taking time. I can just tell you that even in the aftermath of the hurricane we were still getting a lot of e-mails from people saying please have Beth back on. Please update us on the story. Let us know what‘s going on. Good luck, Beth. Thanks for coming back.
TWITTY: Thank you, Dan.

"My daughter disappeared on May 30th. My first reaction was sheer panic. Within six hours after hearing that Natalee was missing, I was headed for Aruba.”
Beth Twitty has experienced the horror that every parent fears: The disappearance of her only daughter. In the three-and-a-half months since Natalee went missing, Beth has dedicated her life to unlocking the mystery behind her daughter's disappearance.
Natalee was last seen around 1:30 in the morning on May 30th getting into a car with three young men. Witnesses say 18-year-old Joran van der Sloot along with two brothers, 21-year-old Deepak and 18-year-old Satish Kalpoe departed from a local bar with Natalee in a small four-door vehicle.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2738/?id=2738&slide=2&null=null
"The boys say they left Carlos 'N Charlie's, drove around to the lighthouse, then they dropped her off at the Holiday Inn at 2 a.m.,” says Beth, yet she is skeptical. "You can't be the last three men to be seen with a young girl alive and not have any information about where you left her. And I knew that my daughter had never been brought back to the Holiday Inn lobby. I knew that was a lie.”After 10 days Police arrested the Kalpoe brothers and Joran. While in custody, the young men changed their story to say Natalee spent time alone with Joran at the beach at the end of the night, and that he left her there alone. Days later Joran's father, Paul van der Sloot, was also arrested, though he was released 48-hours later. In the coming days, the Kalpoe brothers would be released, as well.Investigators searched the ocean, and they searched the local dump. "A witness told Police that he'd seen these three young men placing Natalee's body in a landfill,” says Beth. A tip from another witness led them to drain a nearby pond.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2738/?id=2738&slide=3&null=null
"It's tough when you walk in there at night and you see her clothes and her mother grabs her clothes and starts hugging them crying,” says Beth's husband, Jug.
The Kalpoe brothers were arrested a second time " but then released a second time along with Joran, leading Beth to tell the press, "So the suspects who took my daughter from Carlos N Charlie's, who were the last to be seen with her alive and who admitted to committing or witnessing sexual assaults against her while she was unable to defend herself, are now free.”Now, Dr. Phil has joined the search. He teams up with Jamie Skeeter, a retired chief of Police and former commander, currently president of the California Association of Polygraph Examiners, to help Beth get some much-needed answers.
Beth's Secret
Natalee's mother, Beth, has been holding back an important piece of information she uncovered during her summer in Aruba. Find out what she discloses to Dr. Phil. Plus explosive evidence that never made it to the courts.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2736/?id=2736&null=null
In the three and-a-half months since the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, three suspects in the case have been arrested, released, re-arrested and now released again. Now Joran van der Sloot and his father have fled Aruba for the Netherlands.Natalee's mother, Beth, has told Dr. Phil about a piece of information she has never made public before. Dr. Phil asks her to disclose it now.
"Well, when I hear them speaking of they're trying to decide whether Natalee has been raped or kidnapped,” Beth says "I have read, I've had translated to me Joran van der Sloot's statements. And one of his statements that I found was huge, and this was the one that he gave on June 13 at 8:30 in the morning, and he now states that this is the truth, quote, this is Joran saying 'Now here's the truth."
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2736/?id=2736&slide=2&null=null
Beth continues with Joran's testimony. "Now I want to tell you the truth. I drove Natalee " We drove Natalee to my home at 1:40am. I want her to come in. I have sex with her. Next' " and remember in all his statements she's coming in and out of consciousness " next he says that then he took her to the beach, he took her to the Fisherman's Hut. And then he calls Deepak at 3:30 a.m. to come pick him up from the Fisherman's Hut. Deepak comes. And Deepak says ‘Don't f**k with the b**ch. Let's go.' Every statement that he gives, like I said, so sexually explicit and graphically detailed of what he does to her. It just is amazing to me that he can even admit to having sex with her. And that's not a crime?""He's released,” says Dr. Phil. "Which is just amazing. I mean it's absolutely amazing to me. Now, we also have an affidavit signed by four Police officers, correct?"
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2736/?id=2736&slide=3&null=null
He introduces Ingmar, a cameraman who is an Aruban resident, and who has helped with the case. Dr. Phil asks Ingmar to tell him about the affidavit.
Ingmar says through a thick accent, "This is a statement where the four Policemen that were doing the investigation at the time put on paper what Joran just told them and where Joran was telling that he was with Natalee at the fisherman hut. They laid down on the beach together. On a certain moment she fell asleep and he walks away, leaving her alone on the beach. And the next statement that he gave is that he can point to the Policemen where is the place that Deepak buried the body. So he was like telling that he knows that Deepak did it. He says that he can point to place exactly where Deepak Kalpoe buried the body. So actually ... so this was signed by all four Policemen.”"And given to the prosecutor for the justice system and not given to the court,” Jamie adds.
Witness: Angelina
For the first time ever, the boss and good friend of one of the suspects in Natalee's disappearance reveals what he told her about the night the teen vanished.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2730/?id=2730&null=null
Deepak Kalpoe's boss and good friend, Angelina, has never spoken to anyone about the case until now. In an exclusive interview with Jamie Skeeters, Angelina tells what Deepak revealed to her about what happened the night Natalee was last seen."He was working that night. Sunday night," she says. "And he never goes out on a Sunday night. Deepak was supposed to go home. His brother has to pick him up at 11:00 ... But, I think, Joran called him. "'OK,' you know, 'I'm here with girls from the States at Carlos 'N Charlie's ... do you want to come too? I need a ride.' And that's how he went there.
"Deepak wanted to leave with Satish, and then Joran asked if Natalee was going to come. And then they both got into the car ... and um ... she wanted to drive. She just wanted to drive on the beach. And she was drunk."
Angelina says Natalie's friends screamed for her to get out of the car. But Natalie resisted. "And then they just drove around. They dropped her at the Marriott ...They went home."Jamie asks how Joran got home, according to Deepak.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2730/?id=2730&slide=2&null=null
“Walk. He told him he was going to walk.”"How did he get " really get home?”Angelina says Deepak doesn't know.
"Let's leap forward to the next day ...”
Jamie says. "Deepak and Joran arrive at the van der Sloot residence ... So what happens? What do you """What I heard is they all had a big mob attacking them and 'Where's my daughter? La, la, la.' Of course, again ... because the mother's getting, you know, upset. And, um ... And then they told the story about the Holiday Inn. That they dropped her at the Holiday Inn.""Why would they do that?”Angelina replies, "Deepak did it to cover him up. To cover Joran. Just to help his friend. Because they thought 'You know she'll be back in an hour or something.' You know that.”
"I mean, girls get lost a lot,” she says. "But Joran was the last one with her alone." And so, Angelina says, he asked Deepak to back up his story. "And then Deepak told him, like, 'OK. I'm going to do this for you, for a few days, but if this thing's going to get worse, I will have to tell the truth," she says.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2730/?id=2730&slide=3&null=null
"What would've been wrong with the real story, that he just dropped her off..." Jamie asks.
"Yeah, yeah. That's a stupid mistake that he made,” she replies.
Angelina continues. "Nobody knows if they raped her. There's no evidence of rape, murder, nothing. There's not even a body.
"What does Deepak think happened?” asks Jamie."He just doesn't know. And I so believe him. He just doesn't know,” says Angelina.
Dr. Phil thanks Jamie for the work he has done on the case, and then returns his attention to what they've just heard. "What about this Angelina?" he asks Jamie.
"Angelina is an unwitting type of a witness,” Jamie says. "She appears to be a very honest woman, owns a business, the employer of Deepak, and a close friend of the family's, I mean, almost like a daughter. So she's very knowledgeable. I know she knows more than what she's telling. But she did say some things as you saw in the video. I'm still in contact with her. There's going to be more information coming out.
Landfill Sighting
Days after Natalee disappeared, a witness came forward to say he saw three young men putting her body in a landfill. But was he telling the truth? See what a polygraph test reveals.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2731/?id=2731&null=null
Expert polygraph examiner Jamie Skeeters sat down for an exclusive interview with a witness who says he saw three boys bury Natalee's body in a dump. Rescuers searched the dump for three days but never found a body. Jamie gave the witness a polygraph to verify his story. The interview was conducted through a translator, because the witness doesn't speak English.
"This individual convinced investigators that he had witness Natalee being buried," Jamie says.He asks the translator, "Did he see an actual body or did he see something wrapped up that looked like a body?”"The body was in black plastic ...” the witness responds through the translator. "The part of the body that I saw was naked and purplish.
"What part of the body did you see?” Jamie asks."The hair, the hair ...” he replies, making gestures to indicate long hairs coming off his head."Would he call it a blond?” asks Jamie.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2731/?id=2731&slide=2&null=null
"No. A light brown,” says the translator. "He said it looked like... a... coconut ... coconut strings.”
"Did he see a face?”"No, I only saw her hair.” The witness gestures again.Jamie explains, "The polygraph measures the fear in an individual when he is challenged to a specific issue. If that individual is less than truthful the heart will react when the body gets into what we call fight, flight or freeze mode. If someone's lying, it will make my polygraph look like we're cooking popcorn over the oven stove.”
"I don't want him to hold his breath,” Jamie tells the translator. "I want him to breath just like he is always. I'm going to ask him those questions here...”Jamie says he gave the witness a polygraph on the question, "Are you lying to me when you said that you saw Natalee or any dead body being buried at the dump on that day.” "No. No,” says the witness.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2731/?id=2731&slide=3&null=null
Jamie reveals his conclusion: "We did the test four times with the same results all four times. This particular testimony with this individual had a lot of red flags. We come to find out he's a cocaine addict and has been for 30 years.Jamie tells translator and witness, "What the polygraph shows is that you really did not see the body being buried on that day. It was a week later when he read in the paper and then he remembered.” He continues, "This individual is not just deceptive, he's extremely deceptive. He's lying. He's lying through his teeth.Dr. Phil explains that the polygraphs Jamie administers take from three to five hours. "They are extremely scientific,” he says. He then asks Beth how she felt when she found out the witness was lying.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2731/?id=2731&slide=4&null=null
She says, "It was a huge relief to me to find out that he was lying because ... I think of all the resources and energy that we were about to put into the dump and some of the things that had already occurred from that. I mean, the people that had been in it were becoming ill, and so I looked at it as it was just huge information to uncover that he was lying and that we were wasting all that effort into this landfill."Do you hold out hope against hope that Natalee will be found alive?” he asks her."There have been so many things that had happened over this investigation,” she replies. "I don't even go there anymore. I just don't even " I don't even try to even go whether she will be alive or not, Dr. Phil, I think I'm just so wanting an answer " that's all I can think about is … I just have to know where she is.”
In a Mother's Words
Catch an exclusive interview with the mother of suspects Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. Find out what she reveals, and why she attempted to keep what she said from airing on Dr. Phil.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2732/?id=2732&null=null
Natalee Holloway was last seen on May 30th with three young men, Joran van der Sloot and two brothers, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. Two of Dr. Phil's investigators, Harold Copus and John Weeks sat down for an exclusive interview with Deepak and Satish's mother, Nadira. She requested that her face not be revealed and after the interview made several attempts to keep what she'd said from being aired on Dr. Phil. For the interview, Nadira sits face-to-face with the two investigators."I want to bring you up to the night that Natalee Holloway disappeared,” an investigator begins. "What time did you get home that night?""Twelve. After twelve," Nadira says.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2732/?id=2732&slide=2&null=null
"What time do you think they got in?"
"I assess that it was not four in the morning,” she says. "It's, like, before three or maybe three o'clock. How I know they were home? Because I leave my room door always open when they step out, so when they come they just close my door. And that's the sign that they are home."
"Once Deepak and Satish got back, they had been arrested. They told you about not telling the truth about the Holiday Inn," the investigator probes.Nadira responds, "Come on, we all lie. We all lie. As big people I know that I lie sometimes."
"There's now pretty strong sexual assault charges being leveled against the boys," he says."No. They say that they didn't even touch her," she says. "I think that she had hard feelings for them also because they were black."
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2732/?id=2732&slide=3&null=null
"What do you think happened to Natalee that night?" an investigator asks."It's really a mystery," Nadira says. "Maybe she gone away, or she run away with somebody else, or she still lives here, or she's kidnapped by another person.”"If you could meet with Natalee's mom, what would you say to her?”"At this moment,” says Nadira, "I don't want to meet with her. It's her daughter but it's my two sons too, you know? They are all our kids. I will always say and keep saying that my kids are innocent ... If she's dead then we have to find the body. It's thousands of questions that, you know, all of us are waiting for a solution. And I am begging the Lord, 'Let this girl come out alive.'”
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2732/?id=2732&slide=4&null=null
Dr. Phil turns to Natalee's mother, Beth, and asks what she has heard that she finds significant.
Beth says, "Something that surprises me is how she says, 'They lie. We all lie.' I can't imagine her just saying that on television. And then also she's destroying their alibi herself. She's saying that they were not home at 3 am.”
Dr. Phil agrees. "I mean the whole position that they've taken and they've lied about this before they've said, ‘OK, it was 2:00 in the morning' that they were home everything was done. They had dropped her back at the hotel and gone. Then later they said, 'well, no that's not right. We dropped her with Joran at the beach.'” He turns to Jamie Skeeters. "Clearly, their own mother could not confirm their lies and that's why she wanted this interview back after the fact she realized what she had done. Correct?”"That's correct,” Jamie confirms. "She's tried everything that she could do with advice on her attorney, Angelina and others trying to get the tapes back.”
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2732/?id=2732&slide=5&null=null
"When you hear that,” Dr. Phil asks Beth, "does it infuriate you?”
"You know they have put me through so much,” she says, "the government and the authorities on that island. That I " It's hard for me to even react. I think they have hardened me so." She pauses, fighting back tears. "It's become different. Because you just have to. And even when things are glaring, they're not recognized."
Deepak Kalpoe Speaks
None of the suspects in the disappearance of Natalee Halloway have ever talked to the media — until now. Find out what Deepak Kalpoe says about the case in his own words.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2735/?id=2735&null=null
Three young men were last seen with Natalee Holloway on the night she disappeared: Joran van der Sloot and brothers Deepak and Satir Kalpoe. All are suspects in her disappearance. None of have ever spoken to the media until now. One of the suspects, Deepak, met with Jamie Skeeters in the lobby of his hotel.Jamie tells Deepak, "If you did it, don't take a poly from me or anyone else, because you won't pass it. If you did not do it, you're foolish. And the question I will ask you is if you intentionally killed her.'""No," Deepak says."If it was an accident, I can help all of you. And if you guys were partying, even if somebody had given her a date drug,” says Jamie.
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2735/?id=2735&slide=2&null=null
Jamie continues his line of questioning. "For $25 you can pay a bartender to slip your date a date rape drug in her drink. Does that happen?" Jamie asks."I never drugged someone.”"I'm not saying you. But I mean have you heard of that happening?"I haven't heard the bartender story,” Deepak says. "I know there is a drug called Ecstasy. I heard they slip that into drinks.”Next Deepak gives Jamie his impressions of Natalee: "To tell you quite frankly, dressed like a slut, talked like one. Would go in a car with three strange guys and her mother claiming her to be the goody two shoes. Enough of the BS already.”
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2735/?id=2735&slide=3&null=null
Deepak begins on another issue: "The person that saw something in the morning hours.”
"That's the gardener,” Jamie clarifies. "The gardener is the one that definitely saw you guys 3:00 when statements were made. This guy remembers exactly what time it was because he couldn't sleep that night. He identified every one of you in the lineup except for one of you " I don't know which one, you or your brother.”
"My brother,” says Deepak."But he didn't. He says because the brother was lying in the backseat and that's going to kill you,” Jamie says. "Sometimes your closest friends, if they're worried, and this thing is that big, they'll burn you.”Deepak says, "I don't have any close friends anymore. They're all gone.”"Really? Because of this?” asks Jamie."Everything is empty,” he replies. "If I knew where the body is I would tell them a long time ago. Let them start a trial and get this over with. I don't care.”
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2735/?id=2735&slide=4&null=null
Dr. Phil asks Beth for her reaction to what Deepak has said. She says, "When I hear him speak of Natalee, I want to make it perfectly clear that... Natalee is a virgin and she had never had any of these sexual experiences. When I hear Deepak stating you know how her mother is describing her as a goody two-shoes I mean " Natalee is just a decent young lady who has just " has an impeccable record and just sets high standards. And it all makes sense when I hear Deepak and the bartenders. Yes, these bartenders. Yes, they do slip this Ecstasy into these young girls' shots. It's just unbelievable what they have been allowed to get away with.""I want to make an observation that I think is important here," says Dr. Phil. "The shrink in me listens to this, and I've studied this young man in news footage and seen how he conducts himself and what he does. Think what kind of unprincipled individual you would have to be to, knowing that a young woman is missing, knowing that her mother is there looking for her and then describe her in that way."

Dr. Phil continues his observation. "To say, you know, 'She's dressed like that, she's acting like that, she's doing those things.' To even say those things knowing that you're talking about someone that may have met with foul play, knowing that family members are upset and worried about it, and then to go forward with those kinds of comments tells you that you're dealing with somebody here that is without conscience, without the ability to appreciate the consequences of their actions. The authorities know what we know. They know that there is this alleged pattern of drugging these girls and then taking advantage of them before they leave the island. So this is not some new revelation. But I want us to be very clear about this. Natalee's history, up to this point, the manner in which she had lived her life. The kind of citizen she was in school, the kind of citizen she was in her community, the kind of citizen she was with her friends and socially and family-wise is absolutely inconsistent with everything that was just said on that tape. There is not one shred of history or behavior to support the ridiculous things that were just said on that tape.""Absolutely not.""So let's be real damn clear about that," Dr. Phil says emphatically.
Power in Numbers
When it comes to the loss of a child, there is no way to prepare for it. No way to cope. Dr. Phil has some advice for Beth, and for all Americans, on how to keep the investigation into Natalee's disappearance moving.

Dr. Phil offers his to Beth, and to the nation, about how best to move forward with the investigation into the Natalee's disappearance."What is needed at this point … is information. I mean there has to be some accountability. Somebody needs to assimilate the information that can lead to answers from the people that have them and hold them accountable in that way. And it seems to me the ridiculous inconsistencies and everything, that has to be continued to be brought to light, and I think you've got to have a dog in the fight. I just cannot imagine that the American government or the American people, if they get a full understanding of what's going on down here, are going to sit by and let this happen to an American citizen."Somebody clearly victimized this young woman in some way. How bad, we don't know. We do know this, it does appear that she was in an altered state of consciousness. It does appear that she's been raped, that people have had carnal knowledge of her, given information that they couldn't have if they didn't. That alone is actionable even without knowing the other. And they're not responding to that. And that can't be OK with Americans. And I can tell you as one American to another, we need to say that."
http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slideshow/2737/?id=2737&slide=2&null=null
Dr. Phil continues his observation. "We need to say, ‘That's not OK.' We need to tell these people, ‘We will never set foot on Aruban soil again until you stand up and do what you have to do for this young woman. You just have to understand that.' And if that means writing the State Department, if it means writing the President, if it means writing the Aruban government, they just need to know, ‘There's 270 million people over here that are going to forget you people exist as a destination and see how that works for you. If you're not going to treat Americans with dignity and respect, then you're not going to treat them at all.'"Now that's my attitude about it and I think when you start getting in their pockets in that way then they may just decide where their allegiance is lying and do this thing straight up. And I think we need to bring pressure to bear."
Dr. Phil's Tip of the Day

I want to talk to you today about your role as an American citizen.
Often times when we are part of a much bigger whole we sometimes feel like an individual voice can’t make a difference. But I’m a strong believer that we each create our own experience, we each paddle our own canoe through this river of life and we have to hold ourselves accountable. The silent majority cannot be left to watch life go by and create whatever is served up on a day to day basis. You can make a difference, your voice can make a difference. Individually and collectively you can be heard. The biggest danger we face is if we leave it for someone else to do.If there is something that you feel strongly about, something that you feel passionately about – take action, use your voice and make a difference.

**NOTE** In a FOX News report by GERALDO RIVERA on December 1, 2005, after the “Skeeters tape” of Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE aired on “Dr. Phil,” GERALDO claims that he spoke directly with DOMPIG on November 23, 2005, and DOMPIG told GERALDO that the “Dr. Phil” version of the “Skeeters tape” was altered--presumably by person(s) on the “Dr. Phil” show--from the original version that SKEETERS made available to the ARUBAN Police. (video here of GERALDO on O’REILLY)
On 9-15 “Ocala.com” reported that ART WOOD is planning on writing a book about the facts regarding Natalee’s disappearance, and the official and private investigations afterwards.
On 9-15 DAVE HOLLOWAY returned to ARUBA for a planned 4 or 5 days. He wants to meet with his attorney SOUSA, ARUBAN Police Investigators, and the prosecutor, ARUBA Prosecutor KARIN JANSSEN. He is still suspicious of the pond/”Marriott Beach”/”Aruba Racquet Club” area where the gardener witness said he saw the Murder Suspects, and the landfill. DAVE HOLLOWAY stated he was present when the landfill witness, JUNIOR, passed a voice-stress polygraph test.
On 9-15 BETH appeared on the NBC TV show, “Dr. Phil.” Within the past month the show hired its own Investigators and has conducted its own investigation. She said that in one of Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s statements to ARUBAN Police Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT claimed, "Well, when I hear them speaking of they're trying to decide whether Natalee has been raped or kidnapped,” Beth says “I have read, I've had translated to me Joran van der Sloot's statements. And one of his statements that I found was huge, and this was the one that he gave on June 13 at 8:30 in the morning, and he now states that this is the truth, quote, this is Joran saying 'Now here's the truth. Now I want to tell you the truth. I drove Natalee — We drove Natalee to my home at 1:40am. I want her to come in. I have sex with her. Next’ — and remember in all his statements she's coming in and out of consciousness — next he says that then he took her to the beach, he took her to the fisherman's hut. And then he calls Deepak at 3:30 a.m. to come pick him up from the fisherman's hut. Deepak comes. And Deepak says, ‘Don't fuck with the bitch. Let's go.’ (BETH actually said "Don't 'f' with the 'b'") Every statement that he gives, like I said, so sexually explicit and graphically detailed of what he does to her. It just is amazing to me that he can even admit to having sex with her. And that's not a crime?"

Here is a transcript of Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE's statements recorded on the SKEETERS video tape. (Thank You and Hat Tip “Roger”)
On January 22, 2005 DAVE HOLLOWAY answered questions asked him by “Blogs For Natalee” founder “Debbie”: (DAVE’s answer is in bold)

Has the FBI returned any results on the tapes from the Dr. Phil show? No results from tapes from FBI.

On 9-15 the “Riehl World blog” reported:

Natalee Holloway: Breaking ArubaOriginal Reporting by Dan RiehlI'm getting as yet unconfirmed reports from Aruba that the DNA tests which were thrown out actually did show that none of the DNA from the suspects matched the DNA on a toothbrush recovered from Natalee Holloway's room. Additionally, as I have mentioned previously, I have been told by one source that the toothbrush itself having male DNA on it might have more to do with a simple mix up, than anything related to the case. Also, and it does need to be said, I realize many have gone on about statements alleged to be those of suspect Joran van der Sloot - information from way back suggests these statements are more the work of interrogators, than the suspect. It is not uncommon for interrogators to write out a statement of a version of events they wish to get a suspect to confess to, as they think it a possible scenario for the crime. The lack of the suspects signature on any of these statements suggests that is likely the case. Additionally, the leaking of any such statement, were it signed, would immediately render it moot as to any resolution of the case. It is far more likely that someone, perhaps Jossy Mansur came into possession of basically worthless documents, which were then passed onto Beth Twitty. In my opinion, the sharing of these documents could easily result in an internal investigation as to how they came to be leaked. Lastly, and unfortunately, if these alleged statements are as postulated above, and are not the statements of primary suspect Joran van der Sloot - then any responsible journalist portraying them, or allowing them to be portrayed as such, is doing a terrible disservice to what any decent person would call justice under any flag.

On October 18, 2005 SOUSA told FOX News that today, DAVE HOLLOWAY, SOUSA, and MOHAMED met with ARUBA Prosecutor KARIN JANSSEN and ARUBAN Police commissioner GERALD DOMPIG, and ARUBA Prosecutor KARIN JANSSEN/ARUBAN Police commissioner GERALD DOMPIG told them that the investigation is moving forward, and old and new “persons of interest” are being interviewed. SOUSA also stated "The minute that the show aired on Dr. Phil and these statements by Deepak were heard on Dr. Phil's show, Mrs. Janssen being the chief prosecutor and the head of the investigation requested those tapes. I know that they were requested through Mr. Skeeters and from what I understand a copy was turned over to the FBI. A formal request was made by the chief prosecutor to the F.B.I. and the F.B.I. promised to have a copy or have the tapes delivered to the Aruban authorities. They haven't received a copy yet.” When SOUSA was asked “Without saying what the evidence was, is it physical evidence or is it statements that one of the suspects might have made?,” she stated to "We're talking about statements where, as you know, everybody is still looking for physical evidence as to where Natalee's whereabouts are. If there is any other physical evidence, I can't elaborate on that either.”
