Just after midnight on 6-11 CNN reports that a suspect has confessed to killing NATALEE and NATALEE was buried near the “Marriott Hotel.” Aruban authorities later deny a confession was made.
On 6-11 the BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA NBC TV channel 13 reported:

Aruba Police: Murder Suspect Leading Us To Scene
POSTED: 11:57 am CDT June 9, 2005UPDATED: 12:52 am CDT June 11, 2005Police in Aruba say a man who took Natalee Holloway to the beach has confessed that "something bad" happened to the missing teen.Deputy Police Commissioner Gerold Dompig told The Associated Press that one of the three men arrested earlier this week was leading Police late Friday night to the scene. He refused to identify which young man had made the statement in the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway, who was in the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba to celebrate her graduation from a Mountain Brook High School, near Birmingham.A lawyer for the two Suriname suspects — Satish Kalpoe, 18, and his brother Deepak, 21 — said they told Police they took Holloway to Arashi Beach, on the northern tip of the island, in the early hours of May 30.According to their Police statement, they didn't get out of the car, defense lawyer David Kock said. Instead, Holloway and the Dutch teen, an honors student at Aruba International School, "were in the back seat kissing."They further told Police that they dropped Holloway at her Holiday Inn Hotel around 2 a.m., and last saw her being approached by a man in a black security guard uniform before they drove off, Kock said. The brothers told Police the young woman was drunk and refused to get out of the car when asked to, said Noraina Pietersz, who is representing 30-year-old Nick John, one of the two former security guards. The three young men said Holloway stumbled in the parking lot of the hotel but refused help from her Dutch escort, Kock said.Kock said the brothers told Police they last saw Holloway being approached by a man in a security guard uniform before they drove off.Holiday Inn employees say security cameras did not record Holloway's return. In addition, a Holiday Inn guard who worked the overnight shift the day the young woman disappeared said he did not see her, said Pietersz, who said she reviewed the guard's testimony to Police. While the AP is reporting that one of the suspects had made an incriminating statement to Police, Holloway family members are still unclear about the current state of the investigation.NBC13 was told by a Holloway family spokesman they had been assured by the Aruban Prime Minister that "there is no recovery effort currently underway for a body."While the family is being assured early Saturday that no body has been recovered, they did tell NBC13 that the FBI had reportedly discovered some type of blood evidence in one of the cars impounded as part of the investigation. Results of a DNA test are not yet available.

On 6-11 the “UPI” reported:

Aruba suspect makes murder confession
Jun 11, 2005, 11:10 GMTORANJESTAD, Aruba (UPI) -- Police in Aruba say one of three suspects arrested in the disappearance of an Alabama teenager has confessed to killing her.Brothers Satish Kalpoe, 18, and Deepak Kalpoe, 21, and their friend, 17-year-old Joran van der Sloot, were arrested, but police did not indicate which of them confessed to killing Natalee Holloway. The 18-year-old vanished May 29 after leaving an Oranjestad nightclub. Police said van der Sloot first met Holloway the day she disappeared at the casino in the Holiday Inn where she was staying with about 40 classmates who were celebrating high school graduation.CNN said the three suspects told police they went with Holloway to a beach after leaving the bar before taking her back to her hotel at about 2 a.m.The men claimed they visited a lighthouse, and according to police statements, the Kalpoe brothers described her as stumbling on the way into the hotel, possibly as a result of alcohol.

On 6-11 “All Headline News” reported:

Possible Development In Missing Alabama Teen CaseJune 11, 2005 9:00 a.m. ESTHector Duarte Jr. - All Headline News Staff ReporterOranjestad, Aruba (AHN) - Authorities say one of the three men held in the disappearance case of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway, tells them something bad happened to the 18-year-old during her visit.Late Friday, Deputy Police Commissioner, Gerold Dompig, tells The Associated Press the man is leading police to the scene. On Friday, Prime Minister Nelson Oduber makes a national radio address, saying if anything happened to Holloway it would be bad for the island, long considered one of the safest Caribbean nations to visit, whose main industry is tourismNBC reports Friday, FBI agents meet with the girl's parents, telling them the agency could not yet determine if the girl is dead.Three men; two from Suriname, one, the son of a high-ranking Dutch judicial official, were arrested Thursday, while two former security guards are also being detained; none of the five has been formally charged.According to a police statement, one of the Surinamese men say they took Holloway to Arashi Beach, on Aruba's northern tip, during the early morning hours of May 30, her last night on the island. Holloway and the Dutch teen stay in the back seat of the car kissing. At 2 a.m., they drop the girl off at her hotel, where they last see her being approached by a man in a security guard uniform as they drive off. An overnight security guard on duty confirms he did not see her that morning.Natalie Holloway vanished May 30 during a five-day trip to Aruba, celebrating her recent high school graduation; she was joined by 124 classmates and seven chaperones. After she failed to make her flight, a sweep of her hotel room turned up her packed luggage and passport in the hotel room.

From 1991 to 2004 ROSA PALMER was a friend of the Murder Suspects SLOOT's, and ROSA’s son attends the same school in ARUBA as Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT.
On July 23, 2005 the CLARION, MISSISSIPPI “Clarion Ledger” reported:

Jim Dooley, a personnel recruiter from Charleston, S.C., told the AP he referred the FBI's Birmingham office to Palmer after she shared with him details of the case she said came from Paul van der Sloot during a phone conversation shortly after Joran van der Sloot's arrest.Dooley said he struck up a conversation with Palmer while waiting while his wife tried on clothes in the store where Palmer works. He said Palmer quoted Paul van der Sloot as saying Holloway died after falling and hitting her head on a rock at an Aruban beach.…
Palmer said she believes officials at the International School of Aruba, which her son attended with Joran van der Sloot, know more than they have said.

__:__ AM or PM (?) = On some date in June 2005, while the 2 security guards were under arrest (and before their late evening release on June 13, 2005), Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s lawyer, ANTONIO CARLO, spoke to one of the security guards, despite the fact that the security guards already each had an attorney.

On June 11, 2005 Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE gave the following statements to his ARUBAN Police Interrogators:
(Thank You and Hat Tip to "Scared Monkeys" blog and “Debbie”)

PROCES-VERBAALWe, Clyde Anthony BURKE and Shaniro Baldrik KELLY, respectively sergeant first class and sergeant with the Korps Politie Aruba and both attached to the section Often Occurring Crimes District II, declare the following. On June 11th 2005 at about 12:10 hours, we, the reporting officers, interviewed the suspect D.S. KALPOE, for further information. Before the interview/interrogation started the suspect D.S. KALPOE was informed that he was not obliged to answer the questions. and that his statement would be recorded on videotape. The statement he made in dutch was transcribed and goes as follows."I am now willing to make a statement that is in accordance with the truth. Several details were missing from my last statement. I am going to tell you exactly what happened that night. On Sunday May 29th 2005 at approximately 21:50 hours, I was called by my friend Joran. He said that he was in the vicinity of the Mc. Donalds on Palm Beach and that he was waiting for his father. He further told me that he had met girls in the casino and that these girls would be going to "Carlos & Charlie's" and whether I wanted to go with him. I said that it was OK/fine and that I was going to go home for a short while and that after that I would pick him up at his place. I was picked up by my brother Satish at the place where I work. We then went to the "Taco Bell" in Santa Cruz. There we bought something to eat and after that we drove home. On the way home I was bitten by ants in the car. I had told my brother that when we got back home, we should clean the car because if there were going to be girls in the car they would be bitten by ants too. To your question whether we had agreed that there were going to be girls in the car, I can say the following. We had not agreed anything, but I just thought that just in case that would happen. After we ate me and my brother cleaned the car. I was called by Joran again at approximately 23:10 hours. He asked if we were still coming. I told him that we would be there shortly, I took a bath and then me and my brother went in the direction of Joran's place. I was sitting behind the wheel. Having arrived at Joran's we had to wait for him. We arrived at Joran's at approximately 24:00 hours. Joran was still busy printing a school assignment..To your question as to whether Joran, while we were sitting there, commented or made any remarks about the girls he met in the casino, I can say the following. Joran had said he met a few girls in the casino, that they were pretty and that he would meet them inside "Carlos & Charlies".To your question whether he mentioned the names of the girls, I can say the following. He named no names. We left Joran's place between 00:15 and 00:20 hours for "Carlos & Charlies". At that time my brother was driving. I was in the front seat and Joran was in the back. We arrived at "Carlos & Charlies" at approximately 00:30. My brother had parked the car on the parking lot behind "Carlos & Charlie's". We then walked towards "Carlos & Charlies". In front of "Carlos & Charlie's there was a group of girls. Joran had noticed that these girls were also part of the group he met at the casino. Joran had greeted the girls and then we walked into "Carlos & Charlie's. When we got inside we walked to the bar. At the bar Joran talked to a boy I know by face only. He had bought a drink for him and the boy. The drink is called "Carribean Motherfucker".To your question as to what kind of drink that is, I can say the following. This drink is beer with a shot of "151" vodka in a small glass inside the glass of beer. Joran had asked us if we wanted one too, we hadn't taken him up on his offer. Then he had bought us three "Yards" with whisky coke. He payed for the drinks. We then walked towards the stage/podium. We stood in front of the podium. On the podium there was a group of girls that were dancing. One of the girls made a hand gesture towards Joran, inviting him to come and dance with her. Joran gestured back no. After about three minutes the girl came down from the podium towards Joran. I heard her ask him why he hadn't come up and danced with her. Joran answered something but I hadn't heard what he had said. The girl took him by the hands to get him onto the dance floor. But Joran pulled back his hands. Then they stayed and talked to each other. I didn't hear the conversation, because at that moment a friend of mine came over to talk to me. I had turned around and talked to my friend. After a while I turned around and noticed that Satish, Joran and the girl Natalee were no longer where I had last seen them standing last. I then searched for them in the club but without a positive result. Then I went to look near the bathrooms. I also didn't find them there, I then used the bathroom myself. After I walked out of the bathroom, I called Joran on his mobile phone. He did not answer. I walked to the parking lot where my car was parked. When I arrived at my car I sat on the ground next to my car, because my brother had the keys. I then called my brother on his mobile phone. I had very few minutes left on my pre-paid phone so I called him in a manner that produces what in English is called a "miss call". After that my brother phoned me back, I asked him where they were and he said that they were still inside and that he would come. After a while Satish came walking, I asked him where Joran was and he said that Joran was still inside. I told Satish to give me the keys and to go find Joran. Satish left and I got into my car. I stayed inside of the car with the door open. I had one leg outside the car and I was playing music and adjusting my radio set-up. After a while I heard the door on the passenger side open. I saw that it was Satish getting into the car. Joran opened the door behind Satish and also got in. I cannot remember if the girl got into the same car door. I do know that she sat down behind me. I briefly turned around and introduced myself to the girl. She had told me that her name was Natalee. To your question whether Satish was introduced to the girl or whether he introduced himself, I can say the following. He did not introduce himself to the girl and also wasn't introduced to her. I had turned back and switched on the lights of my car. After that I turned around again and asked Joran in Papiamentu: "kiko nos ta hasi" (loosely translated by reporting officer to the "what are we going to do now"). Joran had answered in Papiamentu "Core rond". (loosely translated by reporting officer: "drive around"). I had driven past the front of "Carlos and Charlies" twice. When we came to the end of our second drive around I saw the people of the "Visibility Team" stand on the corner of the road that lead in front of the afore mentioned establishment. I decided to turn left into the Weststraat in the direction of "Choose a Name". On the corner of L.G. SMITH and the Weststraat I saw a group of people standing there. The girl stuck her head out of the window and yelled something. I had not heard what she had yelled. As to your question if I recognised anyone from this group, I can say the following. It was the same group I had seen outside of "Carlos & Charlie". I also remember a boy that walked up to the car and said to Natalee in English "Get out of the car. What are you doing there. Are you crazy" (loosely translated by reporting officer: Get out of the car. What are you doing there. Are you crazy). I then drove a little further and stopped in front of the pedestrian crossing near the "Royal Plaza". I had then said to the girl that if your friends think it is better that you go with them, you'd better do that. The girl had said to me that no I am staying with you guys. I then called Joran by his name. He did not answer. He was talking to the girl. I called out to Joran again but now a bit louder. He then said, keep on driving. I then drove in the direction of "Caya G.F. Betico CROES". After that I drove in the direction of the "Renaissance Hotel". There I turned onto L.G. SMITH Boulevard. I proceeded to drive in a Westerly direction. I drove on until we got to the intersection where I had last seen her friends. When we arrived there I saw that they were no longer there. I asked Joran what were were going to do now. The girl said at some point something about "Sharks" and "Lighthouse". That is what I had heard. Joran then said "Lighthouse". I knew at that moment that I had to drive to the "Lighthouse". I rolled up the windows and put the air conditioning on and drove towards the "Lighthouse".On the way to the "Lighthouse" me and my brother sat in front and talked and Joran and the girl were in the back and talked. I could not hear what they were talking about. At approximately where the "La Cabana Hotel" was, Satish popped in a DVD that had nude scenes in it. The girl said in English "Oh my God, whats that" (loosely translated by reporting officer: Oh my God, What is that). I then said to Joran in English: "Now she is going to think that we're perverts (loosely translated by reporting officer: Now the girls is going to think we are perverts). After a while Joran said to Satish in Dutch. "Switch off the DVD, she has had enough of it. Satish had done what he requested/asked. I had been driving on, towards Arashi. When I arrived at Arashi I stopped the car on the asphalted section. I got out because I had to take a leak. After that I got back in and we drove towards the "Lighthouse". Having arrived at the "Lighthouse" I drove into the road and drove past the front of the restaurant. When we drove past the front I said, here we are this is the "Lighthouse". Nobody answered me. At some point I looked into the rear view mirror and saw that Joran and the girl were French kissing. I had not seen that Joran's hands were under the girls skirt. I only saw him kissing her. I looked at my brother Satish. He said keep on driving. After that I continued in the direction from which we just came. I saw a little farther up the road, at about where the Lighthouse is, a green jeep and a four door, white car. After that I drove down the road towards Arashi. Having arrived on the Smith Boulevard, on the section of road that has no street lights, I asked Joran if I should head back to town. Joran said no, no, let me out here. That was in the vicinity of the "Marriot Hotel". I asked, where is here. He said here. I turned into a side street. To your question as to what kind of a road it was, I can say the following. I am not sure if it was a sand/dirt road or a paved road. I am willing to show you where the street is that I just mentioned. To your question as to how far I drove into the afore mentioned street, I can say the following, I think I drove about 55 yards into that street. Joran said that I could leave him there. After that I brought my car to a full stop. Joran got out first and then the girl. He said: Fine, I will see you tomorrow. I then asked him how he would get home. He said that he would find a way to get home. I said, and the girl. He answered, I will drop her off at the "Holiday Inn Hotel", we will walk along the beach and it is very close by. I had asked him, are you sure. He answered yes, I will see you tomorrow. I do remember that I saw them walking away hand in hand. I drove out of the street to get back onto the road and then drove towards my house. I do remember that in front of the "Marriot Hotel" Satish asked me to stop for a minute. I did what he asked me, Satish rolled down his window and threw out the two "Yards". After that we drove until we got to the roundabout near "Texaco Sasakr". At the roundabout I headed due east towards my house at Hooiberg. To your question as to how late we got home, I can say the following. We arrived home approximately 02.20 hours. When we got home Satish immediately went to bed. I had switched on the television. I had also turned on the computer in my room. I went and chatted with a friend of mine on "MSN". His name is John Charles CROES. I had told the afore mentioned CROES during the chat that we had gone out and that I was waiting for a friend of mine because I had dropped him off on the street together with a girl.To your question as to why I was waiting for Joran, I can say the following. We always do that if one of us has stayed on the street, we wait. To your question as to what does that waiting comprises of, I can say the following. Waiting means that we call each other and say everything is fine. After having chatted with John I went into the living room and watched TV. Between 02.45 and 03.15 hours, I cannot remember the exact time it was, Joran phoned me. He asked me what I was doing. I answered that I was watching television. I asked him, and you? He answered that at moment in time he was walking home. I then said to him, you see if you had stayed with me, you could have gotten a ride home. I then asked him, and how did it go. He said to me, no man, we just briefly went into the water. After that according to Joran the girl had fallen asleep on the beach. He said he had left her there. He did not say to me where this all took place. At that point I got angry at Joran and asked him, why he left that girl on the beach. After that he said that he was walking home barefoot. I then said, what do you mean, you are walking home barefoot and I asked him where his sneakers/sport shoes were. He answered that he had left his sneakers/sport shoes at the beach. I had told him that at that moment I didn't understand what he was talking about, but that if he got home he should call me. After that I sent him a message via the M.A.S. System of SETAR. The message said: when you get home you should come online. I am waiting for you and after that I am going to sleep. To your question whether Joran had told me if they had gone into the water or just walked along the water's edge I can say the following. He did not tell me.To you question as to how long me and Joran talked when he had phoned me, I can say the following. I estimate that we talked about 4 to 5 minutes. We also talked about whether I would go to work the next day and other stuff. After that I went back to "chatting" on the computer with my friend John. I had told John that I needed to wait up for Joran and that he was walking home.. John had noted that it was good for Joran because if he had driven with me, he wouldn't have to walk home now.I went to the bathroom for a while. When I got back I could see that Joran had been "online". He had sent me several messages. The messages were, I am already here and thanks for waiting, I will see you tomorrow..After a while I went to sleep.
To your question whether I had been in contact with Joran that day, I can state the following. On that day, after I woke up, I had called Joran at approximately 18.00 hours. I just asked him how he was. Joran was at that moment in time together with a friend of us named Guido in the casino at "Wyndham". I said that it was OK and that I would talk to him later. Before I finished working, I had called him again. He said that at that time he was in the casino of the "Radisson Hotel". I said that I would come bye there. Satish came and picked me up from work at approximately 23:10 hours at my place of work. I had brought Satish home because he had school the following day and also because my mother had been angry because we had stayed out late that day and that Satish hadn't gone to school. I then went to the "Radisson Hotel". When I arrived there I met up with Joran, Guido and Andre. Joran was playing in a poker tournament. I sat and watched. Joran was pretty inebriated that evening. We stayed there and played for about 2 hours after I arrived. I had arrived there at approximately 00;00 hours. At some point there was an verbal altercation between a tourist and Joran. The tourist was of the opinion that we were helping Joran. We said to Joran that it was better if we left. We then left. Guido left to take Andre home and me and Joran went to the "Wyndham" hotel11. I wanted to play blackjack. When we arrived at the "Wyndham", while I was parking Joran received a telephone call on his mobile. He spoke to a person. I heard him say the name Paul. I assumed that he was talking to his father. Because I know his father's name is Paul. After the conversation Joran said to me that it had been his father calling and that he told him that there was Police at their house and that it was about the girl that we had been out with the previous night. Paul also said to Joran that we should stay put and that he would come to pick us up. Joran had misunderstood that and we drove to his house. At that moment I heard Joran say "What the fuck is up with/wrong with this bitch". Then he said to me that if the Police should ask anything that we should say the following: That we left together with the girl from "Carlos & Charlie's", that we drove around, that Joran kissed and fingered her, that she fell asleep in the car and that we had taken her to the hotel. When we arrived at Joran's house nobody was there. At that point I then used Joran's mobile phone to call my brother. I had told my brother Satish what he should tell the Police if they came over there. Meaning the story that Joran had just told me.When I got home I told Satish about the security guard. Meaning that he should add that piece to the story. To your question as to where the story with the security guard came into the picture, I can say the following. I had made-up that part of the story. To your question whether I had thought about telling the truth that night, I can say the following. I had not told the truth because first of all Joran had asked me not to, he is my friend and I was afraid of the Police because I thought that I would get into trouble with the Police. To your question as to how Joran was on the day that we went to "Carlos & Charlies", I can say the following. He was sociable, not aggressive. In one word sociable. I do not know how much he had to drink. To your question how Natalee was that night in "Carlos & Charlies", I can say the following. She danced beautifully, I had lied in my previous statement about her being unsteady on her feet when she stepped off the podium/stage. That was beside the truth. She had a steady walk. In my opinion she was reasonably sober/"with it".11(footnote reporting officer: at approximately 13:25 hours the interview was halted because the suspect had to be arraigned with the District Attorney and this had to be review by the Judge Commissioner) I just remembered something. If Joran says that we took him home, then that is not based on the truth. Because he had sent me a message that said that he when he got home he would get online. You should check my mobile phone to see if the message is still in there. I also have to tell you that Joran was wearing white sneakers/sport shoes that night. If you search his home then you will see/find that the shoes aren't there. He had told me that he had left them on the beach. To your question whether I know if Joran told the story to someone else, than I can say the following. I know Joran told his story to his friend named Freddy ZEDAN. Freddy lives behind Joran. His mobile phone number is in my mobile phone. To your question whether Joran told me what he had told Freddy, I can say the following. Joran told me that he had told Freddy the truth and the made up story. I know that he trusts Freddy more because they have known each other for a long time. If you go and talk to Freddy, he will tell you the made up story and maybe also the truth. To your question as to what I think the part of Joran's fathers was in this case, I can say the following. Truth be told I think he believed the story we had told him. He had then looked for a lawyer for me and my brother. To your question as to what Joran's father had advised us, I can say the following. He told us that if we were to be arrested that we should remain calm and not come up with a different story. I am also prepared to drive with you the route we drove that night in question. I am also prepared to show you the spot where we dropped off Joran and the girl.To your question whether I can make detailed statements about the conversations that were happening while we were driving this route, I can say the following. I did hear some things. I heard the girl say something about sharks and "Lighthouse". The comment she made about the videoclip. Joran had told me two days later that the girl had asked him whether me and my brother had been his slaves. The girl had told Joran that she was from Alabama, and that she didn't like people of dark colour and that they owned a farm and that the people working on their farm were all of dark colour. To your question whether the girl had made racist comment to us, I can say the following. The girl had not made a comment along those lines to us.To your question as to how I think about Joran making statements against me and my brother, I can say the following. I think he that he did this to blame the whole thing on us. To your question as to what I think happened to the girl or what Joran did to her, I can say the following, I think that he raped her and is afraid to state that. I don't think he murdered her. To your question as to why I think he has raped her, I can say the following. I think that because he doesn't want to tell the truth. That is the only reason I can think of.To your question whether Joran could have been involved with a rape some time before, I can say the following. I do not know. My brother told me once that a girl had said that she had been impregnated by Joran. I do not know what happened after that.To your question whether the statement I have just made is entirely in accordance with the truth, I can say the following. My statement is in accordance with the truth. I swear to you that this is the truth. My wish is that before I sign my statement, I am allowed to read through it with my lawyer. After the suspect D.S. KALPOE read the above transcribed statement, he said he would persist in that statement and signed the statement. Of which, we, the reporting officers on our oat as officers have made his proces-verbaal, closed and signed in Oranjestad on June 11 2005.

On 6-10 or 6-11 the now called “Aru-Bay video” is filmed (by whom??, exactly when??).
The video may show the ARUBAN Police personnel recovering a dead body among some rock outcroppings within the sand dunes close to the “California“ lighthouse--the same lighthouse where the 3 Main Murder Suspects initially said they took NATALEE.
Later rumors claim the body that was recovered was of a 7-year-old illegal COLUMBIAN immigrant.
Additional rumors claim that this same-located body was originally found (by whom??, exactly when??) a year or so earlier.

On 6-11 FOX News reported:
(Thank You and Hat Tip to “Heli”)

Jonathan Soerri (sp?) Yes Bob, this is not what we wanted to report, but Fox News has confirmed that Natalee Holloway is dead. The Aruban Ministry of Justice, confirming to Fox News that Natalee Holloway is dead and at this hour her parents are being taken to the location where Investigators found her body. Now, earlier in the day the Associated Press reported that one of the suspects in custody, one of the three young men who were arrested on Thursday was helping Investigators; that he had told them: " that something very bad happened", referring to the time that he and his two friends were with Natalee the night before her disappearance. These three young men, whose names are Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, a pair of brothers, as well as Joran van der Sloot, the 17 year old son of a high ranking official with the Justice Ministry on this island. These three young men were with Natalee drinking in a bar and then took her out to a beach where there's a lighthouse. Originally, the young men had claimed that they dropped her off at her hotel, although Police say they believe that Natalee never made it back to her room. Now, one of these young men, according to the Associated Press, and authorities not naming which one it is , telling authorities that something very bad happened during that evening and then offering to take Investigators to the scene where this happened. Now, earlier in the day the Justice Minister flatly denied these reports, but now he is confirming to Fox News that Natalee Holloway is dead. So, apparently it was not an issue of the facts of the case being wrong, but merely being an issue of protocol, that a Police source initially talking to the AP had not conferred with his higher ups before but it appears the facts were correct all along. Whatever the facts of this case and regardless of who was responsible, Investigators now telling Fox News that Natalee Holloway is dead. Now, as we speak these three young suspects in the case are about to appear before a Judge for a previously scheduled Hearing. Before we knew Natalee was dead, we knew this Hearing was going to take place today. This is a Hearing that Dutch Law mandates take place within 48 hours of an arrest to determine whether there is enough probable cause to keep these suspects in custody and in light of these recent reports of Natalee's death, it appears this Hearing will be a formality and that at least these three suspects will remain in custody as the investigation progresses. Page and Bob, back to you. Bob: Jonathan quick question, do we know what happened, you were talking about that they took her to the beach, to a lighthouse. Do we know anymore at this point what happened there? Jonathan: No we don't, officials are not saying what the cause of death was, only that Natalee did die, that they have confirmed that she is dead, but they're not releasing the cause of death yet. Bob: So we don't know, remember when they called for a dive team also, we don't know whether they found her in water or land at this point either, do we? Jonathan: That's correct, we don't know if they found her in water or on land however, if this initial AP report is correct and that it was one of the young suspects who led (her) to her body, it would suggest that it was in a place that body would not have easily moved, suggesting she wouldn't have been out in open waters, carried away, that she was either found on land or in very shallow water, again, this is all speculation. Page Hopkins: Jonathan, it's Page, what about those other two men that were detained last week, those two security men who are still in custody? Jonathan: Yes, those two men are Mickey John and Abraham, Abraham, I can't remember his last name, in any case they were both security guards working at a hotel very close to the Holiday Inn where Natalee had been staying. They were the first two suspects arrested in this case and initial reports were that these three young men who were at first just considered witnesses or persons of interest in this case had somehow implicated or possibly implicated these two young men. Well their attorney has told us yesterday that he was very optimistic that at least one if not both of these initial suspects would be released sometime today, but it's our understanding is that they both remain in custody, Investigators probably wanting to get to the bottom of these recent developments before they let anyone go.

Man Says 'Something Bad Happened' to Teen
NewsMax.com WiresSaturday, June 11, 2005
ORANJESTAD, Aruba - Police investigating the disappearance of an Alabama honors student in Aruba arrested a man at dawn Saturday, hours after one of three young men already in custody admitted "something bad happened" to the woman after they took her to the beach. It was unclear if the 6 a.m. arrest was related to the admission. The same team of officers who arrested five others in the case during the past week went to a home just outside Oranjestad, the capital, and came out with a handcuffed man who looked to be in his 20s.
Saturday morning, Police refused to comment on the arrest or say if they had discovered anything overnight that solved the mystery of what happened to Natalee Holloway, 18, who was last seen in the early hours of May 30.
Late Friday, Deputy Police Commissioner Gerold Dompig told The Associated Press that the man who made the statement was leading Police to the scene. He refused to identify which of the three young men who took her to a beach the night she went missing made the statement.
The three young men arrested Thursday - two Surinamese brothers and the 17-year-old Dutch son of a high-ranking island judicial official - were expected to appear before a judge Saturday, government spokesman Ruben Trapenberg said. Authorities have refused to say on what grounds they were being held. The judge would decide whether Police have sufficient grounds to continue holding them.
Police also have detained two other men - former security guards at a hotel near the one where Holloway was staying. No one has been charged in the case.
Island-wide searches by Aruban Police, Dutch marines and hundreds of volunteer islanders and tourists continued Saturday, Trapenberg said.
Holloway, vanished during a five-day trip to the Dutch Caribbean island with 124 classmates and seven chaperones celebrating their graduation from Mountain Brook, Ala., High School, near Birmingham. Police found her U.S. passport and packed bags in her hotel room after she failed to show up for her return flight that day.
Family Believes Alive
Holloway's family continues to believe she is alive, said Jar Twitty, the teen's step-uncle. Rumors that she is dead are "an aggressive interpretation" of what Police are saying, he told The Associated Press.
Prime Minister Nelson Oduber said on national radio Friday night that if something happened to Holloway, it would damage the reputation of this island of 97,000 people, which depends on tourism and is considered one of the safest spots in the Caribbean.
In Holloway's hometown, her friends gathered after midnight at a church where people have been holding prayer vigils for her. Some hugged and cried; one woman left a flickering candle at the base of a wall decorated with messages to Holloway, who had earned a full scholarship to the University of Alabama, where she planned to study medicine.
Antonio Carlo, an attorney for the Dutch minor, told The Birmingham, Ala., News: "I believe my client 100 percent, and I believe there is no probable cause" for his arrest.
Holloway's mother and stepfather told the News they discovered the Dutch boy's connection to their daughter within 24 hours of her disappearance by talking to other students on the trip. They then found surveillance videotapes showing him playing poker with other Mountain Brook teens in their hotel casino two days before she vanished.
A lawyer for one of the Surinamese - Satish Kalpoe, 18, whose brother, Deepak, 21, also is in custody - said they told Police they took Holloway to Arashi Beach, on the northern part of the island, in the early hours of May 30.
According to their Police statement, they did not get out of the car, defense lawyer David Kock said. Instead, Holloway and the Dutch teen, an honors student at the Aruba International School whom she had met at the casino in her hotel, "were in the back seat kissing."
They also told Police that they dropped Holloway at her Holiday Inn at about 2 a.m. and last saw her being approached by a man in a security guard uniform before they drove off, Kock said.
The brothers told Police the blond, blue-eyed young woman was drunk and refused to get out of the car, said Noraina Pietersz, who is representing Nick John, 30, one of the two former security guards. He and Abraham Jones, 28, have been detained since Sunday.
The three young men said Holloway stumbled in the parking lot of the hotel but refused help from her Dutch escort, Kock said.
Holiday Inn employees say security cameras did not record Holloway's return. A Holiday Inn guard who worked the overnight shift that day said he did not see her, said Pietersz, who said she reviewed the guard's statement to Police.

Dave HOLLOWAY reported in his book, “Aruba: The Tragic Story of Natalee Holloway and Corruption in Paradise” (page 110):

By June 11, 2005, we had searched most of the public ground areas. So, we rented a helicopter and flew over the island for approximately five hours. We covered all of the areas of the island that were visible from the air. We located some specific spots that required more attention. During our flight, we suddenly realized that a police chopper had been following us the entire time. I rented the helicopter on two other occasions and, both times, the police chopper shadowed our every move. The last time I was with Tim Miller from EquuSearch, and he was amazed by their intrusive actions. Less than fifteen minutes into the flight, we decided to make a 180-degree turn and race back to an area we had missed. Upon receiving permission from the air traffic tower, we spun the chopper around and raced forward. In a few seconds, our helicopter and the police shopper were about to crash head-on. The police chopper took evasive action, and we slowed down. But the shadowing continued. I wondered why they felt the need to follow our every move. If we found something significant in Natalee's case, what would they have done? Were they afraid that we would find evidence that would implicate them, or were they more worried that we would solve the case when they were unable to?

On 6-11 the “UPI” reported:

ORANJESTAD, Aruba, June 11 (UPI) -- Police in Aruba say one of three suspects arrested in the disappearance of an Alabama teenager has confessed to killing her.
Brothers Satish Kalpoe, 18, and Deepak Kalpoe, 21, and their friend, 17-year-old Joran van der Sloot, were arrested, but Police did not indicate which of them confessed to killing Natalee Holloway.
The 18-year-old vanished May 29 after leaving an Oranjestad nightclub. Police said van der Sloot first met Holloway the day she disappeared at the casino in the "Holiday Inn" where she was staying with about 40 classmates who were celebrating high school graduation.
CNN said the three suspects told Police they went with Holloway to a beach after leaving the bar before taking her back to her hotel at about 2 a.m.
The men claimed they visited a lighthouse, and according to Police statements, the Kalpoe brothers described her as stumbling on the way into the hotel, possibly as a result of alcohol.

Twice during the afternoon on 6-11, Justice Minister RUDY CROES told FOX News reporters that one of the classmates arrested was in fact talking, and the discovery of NATALEE's body would come soon.
(a Dutch police report quoted later by a Dutch paper said that Aruba Minister of Justice Rudy Croes denied Aruba Prosecutor Karin Janssen's request for expert Dutch help early in the Natalee Holloway investigation)
On 6-11 ANITA VAN DER SLOOT claimed she was confident her son had told authorities everything and that he was innocent. "He was willing to help with anything, and he had a kind of quiet resolve -- I mean he said, 'Mom, don't be upset because everything will be fine. I know I am innocent, I didn't do anything,'" AvdS told CNN. "And in a very almost naive way he was very open with us, told us everything what happened," she said, adding that he has offered to speak with the Holloway family.
On 6-11 an ARUBA radio station reported that authorities are searching the Canashito River for NATALEE’s body.
On 6-11 the radio stations are also reporting that ARUBAN Police are heading to recover NATALEE’s remains. First it was lighthouse, then it was Bubali Plas (shallow lake), now it’s Canashito, at the rock quarry.
On 6-11 BIEZEN said, “the investigation was at a very crucial point.”
(sometime during the second week after NATALEE vanished it was reported by local Aruba media that a boat cover, tape, rope, and an anchor(s) that were near the fishermen’s hut were reported stolen)
On 6-11 ODUBER said no one had informed him of a confession, but noted that type of information is not something he would learn of during this stage of investigation. He said early Saturday that there was no search for a body or remains. "Investigators will continue early in the morning doing their job," Oduber said.
On 6-11 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated to FOX News, "the only thing that they divulged is that they were not so sure she was still alive.”
On 6-11 “The Aruba Tradewinds Times” wrote, “ORANJESTAD-In the yearly financial report published by the Central Bank of Aruba and released on July 1st 2005 mention is made that the amount of gross tourism receipts reached US$ 1.1 billion in 2004 an increase of 23 percent in comparison to 2003. It is the first time that the amount of tourism receipts has surpassed the billion-dollar milestone. In 2004 a total of 728,157 stay-over arrivals were welcomed on the island the highest ever recorded in Aruba. The average hotel occupancy rate rose further to 80.7 percent in 2004 in comparison to 74.4 percent in 2003, an increase of 6.3 percentage points and well above the Caribbean average of 67.9 percent in 2004. The amount of cruise arrivals grew by 6 percent in 2004 in comparison to 2003 to a total of 576,300 cruise arrivals. Adding the amount of cruise-arrivals and stay-over arrivals, tourism surpassed 1.3 million visitors in 2004 responsible for US$ 1.1 billion dollars in gross tourism receipts.” “ *Gross tourism receipts from stay-over visitors and cruise tourism related incomes as recorded on a cash basis in the balance sheet of payments.”

American Press Misleading, No Confession Say Aruba PoliceORANJESTAD, Aruba: Law enforcement officials in Aruba are calling recent reports coming out of the USA in relation to the disappearance of an Alabama teenager as "untrue and misleading." 18-year-old Natalee Holloway vanished May 29 after leaving an Oranjestad nightclub.According to US reports, police in Aruba arrested a man on Saturday morning, after one of a trio that was previously held reportedly told police "something bad happened to her".How can a killing be 'retracted' ?How can a burial location become "misinformation"?CNN's 2:00 pm report on Saturday (June 11, 2005) stated that a senior police officer had told them that one of the three men arrested had confessed to killing Holloway.Aruba police told Caribbean Net News Saturday that they have been engaged in an unsuccessful island-wide search for Holloway, who had come to the island with 124 other students from the USA to celebrate their graduation from Mountain Brook High School.Caribbean Net News contacted CNN Headline News in Atlanta who said that they have reporters on the ground in Aruba and were adamant that they are sticking by their story. However, officials in Aruba maintain that no confession was made and there has been no other arrest apart from the five made earlier.According to one US report, police this morning visited a home on the outskirts of the capital city of Oranjestad and were later seen coming from the house with a young man wearing handcuffs, but the Aruba police have also denied this. However, police did confirm to Caribbean Net News that, of the arrested trio, two are brothers and hail from Suriname while the other is a 17-year-old Dutchman who is the son of a top member of Aruba's legal circle. When the story first broke, police also detained two former security guards who have maintained that they are innocent. They have not been charged and their continued detention has sparked simmering racial overtones.Since Holloway's disappearance, island-wide searches by Aruban police, Dutch marines, the FBI and scores of volunteer islanders and tourists still continue on a daily basis.Nelson Oduber, the island's Prime Minister in speaking on national radio Friday night hinted that he was deeply concerned over the negative effect the Holloway matter would have on the island's tourism product and its 97,000 people, who depend heavily on tourism.Meanwhile, a high court judge flown in from a neighboring island was due to convene a "hearing" at 2:00 pm Saturday to determine whether officials can continue to hold the three suspects in prison without charge as the investigations continue.

On 6-11 FOX News reported:

Aruban PM Seeks Answers
ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Finding 18-year-old Natalee Holloway is currently Aruba's "No. 1 goal," the country's prime minister said Thursday after three more suspects were arrested in connection with the American tourist's disappearance.
"We stand behind the family of Natalee Holloway in full support," Prime Minister Nelson Orlando Oduber said. "This investigation must move along swiftly … we will not stop until we have answers. We are shocked and completely distraught."
Holloway was on a five-day graduation vacation with 124 classmates and seven chaperones when she disappeared without a trace. The Alabaman was last seen at a local bar about 1:30 a.m. Memorial Day, getting into a car with three islanders she'd apparently befriended.
Those three islanders were questioned and released last week but were arrested again on Thursday. Two other men are also in custody and being questioned.
The Aruba Police and other international authorities "are doing everything in their power to find Natalee," Oduber said, adding that he's been in touch with U.S. officials like Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Alabama Gov. Bob Riley and Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions.
"The government of Aruba has always made the safety ... of our community and our visitors a top priority," the prime minister said during a press conference that Holloway's mother also attended. "Aruba has very strong ties to the United States. We will not tolerate any activities that harm our American friends or any of our international visitors, or part of our community at large."
Officials said earlier Thursday that the three men arrested gave the Alabama teen a ride back to her hotel the night she disappeared.
The trio — two Surinamese and a native of the Netherlands — told Police they dropped off Holloway at her hotel around 2 a.m. on May 30. "Holiday Inn" employees, however, say that security cameras did not record her return.
The Dutch suspect, Joran Andreas Petrus van der Sloot, a student at Aruba International School, came out of his upper-class home in Oranjestad on Thursday with his head covered in a blue and green towel.
The Surinamese brothers in custody are Satish Kalpoe, born July 30, 1986, and Deepak Kalpoe, born Oct. 6, 1983. They are the sons of a local Aruban businessman.
Van der Sloot's father is a prominent official in the Aruban justice system. The younger van der Sloot, born Aug. 6, 1987, may have been romantically involved with the 18-year-old Holloway the night she disappeared. He met Holloway at a hotel casino two days before she was last seen, Aruban Police chief Jan van der Straten told reporters.
The three, described by authorities earlier as witnesses and "persons of interest," had been released last week after being questioned about Holloway.
Aruba Attorney General Karin Janssen said the three were arrested at 6 a.m. Thursday. She refused to say whether they were connected to the two men already being detained in the disappearance.
"It is likely it may have been a Police strategy to let these three men go to gather more information," Ruben Trapenberg, spokesman for the Aruba government, told FOX News Thursday morning.
"The three witnesses gave information about the two guys [already in custody] and that is why they were held. If one of those two has an alibi, then the story [given by the three witnesses] doesn't fit and therefore the two may then be released depending on the proof."
Aruban Police also impounded a gray Honda car. Holloway's friends reported seeing her leave a bar in a silver car the night she disappeared.
Local Police and the F.B.I. said a lack of any solid leads was hindering progress in their search for Holloway. Local officials have asked the F.B.I. to bring in dogs trained to search.
Aruban Police and volunteer land searches continued Wednesday with no results, while water searches, also unsuccessful, had been suspended "at this time," Police spokesman Edwin Comenencia said.
"There is no physical evidence whatsoever and there are no statements given by any person that would indicate Natalee Holloway is not alive," Chris Lejuez, a court-appointed defense attorney for one of the two men previously arrested in the case, told FOX News Thursday morning.
Murder Suspects: Holloway Was Drunk When We Dropped Her Off
Lejuez told FOX News that he and his colleague Noriana Pietersz had been given witness statements from only the two Surinamese citizens.
"I'm very happy that they're expanding the investigation," Lejuez told FOX News on Thursday morning. "It shows they are not focusing anymore on my client and the other person in custody. It shows the Police finally realize they're not going to get anywhere with these two people."
The Kalpoe brothers told Police that van der Sloot became intimate with Holloway at the California Lighthouse beach before they dropped her off at her hotel. They told Police Holloway had been drinking heavily and was drunk, and then when she got out of their car in front of the "Holiday Inn," she stumbled and fell to the ground.
When one tried to help her up, she pushed him away and said, "I can stand on my own!"
They say she then headed towards the lobby, and a black man in black pants and a black t-shirt escorted her inside.
The tape from the "Holiday Inn" lobby camera was reportedly checked by Police but no images of Holloway were found, and the attorney says the security guard on duty from midnight on told authorities he never saw the teenager enter the hotel that night.
On Wednesday, a judge ruled that authorities had enough evidence to hold two former security guards arrested Sunday in connection with Holloway's disappearance.
At least one of the suspects, 28-year-old Abraham Jones, appeared in court in Aruba Wednesday morning. The other was identified as 30-year-old Mickey John.
Neither man has been charged with a crime, but both were being held on suspicion of first- and second-degree murder and capital kidnapping, the latter of which is invoked when a kidnapping victim is killed, according to their lawyers. According to Aruba law, only strong suspicion — not evidence — is necessary to continue holding a suspect.
"There is no reason to believe he's not telling the truth," Lejuez told FOX News Thursday morning, referring to his client, Jones. He added that Jones has repeated the same story to several people — that he was at a beach festival the night Holloway disappeared, then went home with his wife, where he slept until 7 a.m. the next day.
Lejuez dropped John as a client per a request from the prosecutor, who said it's not ethical for him to represent both clients. Whereas normally he would oppose such a move, Lejuez said, "in this case, considering the grave consequences it would have for the island of Aruba, I have ... deviated from what I normally do and honored their request to do so."
Pietersz, John's lawyer, said she spoke to her client in jail Thursday.
"I have decided not to demand the immediate release of my client," she said. "We prefer to let the prosecution investigate, confident that my client will be released by Wednesday" when a judge will decide whether to extend his detention.
Authorities may hold John and Jones without filing formal charges for up to 116 days, lawyers said. The two are Aruban citizens, though one is originally from Grenada. Family members insist the two men are innocent.
Judge J.S. Kuiperdal will review the case June 15 and every eight days after that if needed, officials said. Prosecutors asked that the defendants be kept in jail at least until June 15, when they hope to conclude their investigation.
Investigators must come up with some evidence to hold the suspects beyond that date.
Attorney general spokeswoman Vivian van der Biezan said she would check into whether Dutch law allows a charge of murder if no body is found.
Authorities have not said Holloway was a victim of foul play and have not ruled out any possibilities, including that she may have drowned.
Holloway spent her last night at a beach concert and then eating and dancing at Carlos 'N Charlie's bar and restaurant, which has donated $5,000 of a reward for information on her. She is described as a straight-A student who had a full scholarship to a premedical program at the University of Alabama.
The search for the Mountain Brook, Ala., teen began shortly after she failed to show up for her flight home the next morning. Police found her passport in her hotel room with her packed bags.
The Aruba government and local tourism organizations have offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to her rescue. Family and benefactors in Alabama have offered $30,000.

On October 24, 2005 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated to MSNBC, “Now, we have a lead Investigator, Gerald Dompig, who is coming up—coming out and saying that these three young men are the perpetrators. Initially, van der Straten was placed on as lead Investigator as early as May 31, June 1, 2, 3, 4. And around the 5, van der Straten was removed from Natalee‘s case by the prime minister. And Dompig was placed as lead Investigator, and we were—we welcomed that. We welcomed that, because of the connection that Paul van der Sloot and van der Straten had. They had a—they‘re very good friends, very, very close. Even—van der Straten is even Joran van der Sloot‘s godfather. So, when Gerald Dompig was placed on as lead Investigator, we were just—we were relieved. And he actually—you know, he was actually beginning to see just what had happened. And I felt—we felt he was getting close to the answer. And then, suddenly, within a few days, he was off. And van der Straten was back on board.” “I have told Prime Minister Oduber that I will do this, I will be the voice of Natalee for the next 40 years.” “I met with Prime Minister Oduber. I [told him] don‘t care who you put the pressure on, where it comes from, but I want—you need to figure it out. You need to figure out who needs to apply the pressure and where it needs to be applied, because you have to solve this crime. I said, you do not want to turn me loose from this island without an answer.” “You know, Joran van der Sloot and Deepak and Satish Kalpoe were not denying. They were not denying a crime. They were implicating each other. They were fingering each other over and over again. And that was the day that the F.B.I. came in, Doug Shipley came in, and said that the way the interrogations are unfolding, there‘s a strong possibility that Natalee may not be alive. That was huge. That was the day that—I think, Joe, everyone buried Natalee that day, on June 10. And then it just—from there, the night went on. There were body sightings, countless. They were knocking on my door. They thought they found her. Oh, no, they didn‘t. It went on from 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. It was horrific. So, whatever was happening that day, on June 10, we were getting the answer. Then, the next day, June 11, is when Prime Minister Oduber comes on international media and announces to the world that there’s blood; there’s blood in Deepak and Satish Kalpoe’s car. I mean, all that was happening for a reason.”
On November 2, 2005 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated to FOX News that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT made a written statement to ARUBAN interrogators “very early on” around 6-11, 12, 13, “when they [the 3 boys] were implicating each other” that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT thinks that Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE murdered NATALEE and buried her body. When Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT made that statement, BETH stated that the F.B.I. observers told her that the ARUBAN Police Interrogators asked no followup questions, such as where did Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE bury the body?, where is the body, etc.? BETH also said that statement was signed by Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT. BETH also said that while Current Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT was under arrest he made a statement to the ARUBAN Police “I hope she is still alive and is found--not much chance of that.“ On 11-2 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated to FOX News that a letter was delivered to her at HELEN LeJUEZ’s office shortly after she went there 11-1. The letter was from ARUBA Prosecutor KARIN JANSSEN “saying she would not have time on her agenda to meet with me this week.”
On August 1, 2005 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated to FOX News that on 6-11 she wrote in her journal, “Could a cover-up be involved?”
On June 23, 2005 MARIAINE CROES, spokesperson for the ARUBA Prosecutors office, told FOX News “Paulus van der Sloot is being held in suspicion of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, not the cover-up.”
((???? A cover-up by which person or persons????))
On November 27, 2006 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated to FOX News:

VAN SUSTEREN: Beth, let’s start first with the thought--what Peter de Vries, the Dutch investigative reporter has to say about Joran's lawyer. What do you think about that?HOLLOWAY-TWITTY: Well, I mean, the report clearly shows all the frustrations we have been dealing with for 18 months, Greta, and, you know, the meeting that Antonio Carlo had with Karin Janssen, and, you know, it’s just a--it just gives us affirmation what we’ve known this, all along, that there was collusion involved, with all of the personnel there.VAN SUSTEREN: Peter says--and I suppose if there is any sort of “light at the end of the tunnel“--is that he doesn’t think it’s too late to solve this, and find out, you know, what happened to Natalee. Do you think it’s too late, or, do you still have “fire in your belly” to, you know, find out what happened and believe it can be?HOLLOWAY-TWITTY: Well, I think now we have the names and faces of the people who were obstructing justice--who were derailing an investigation--and who were protecting suspects--and now it's time to depose these individuals. They need to go get Bob de Witt--Bob Witt--and these are the personnel working in the Justice Department, and they are the ones who have--evidently, they have information as to what happened, or they would not have been, you know, outlining and planning the execution of the derailment of the investigation.

**NOTE** other persons (not Murder Suspects) in ARUBA mentioned by DUTCH crime reporter PETER DE VRIES in his November 26, 2006 report were:
FERNANDA CROES, the ARUBA Minister of Justice over the case
BOB WITT, one of the DUTCH judges presiding in ARUBA within the case
KARIN JANSSEN, the ARUBA Prosecutor of the case
GERALD DOMPIG, one of the ARUBA Police Commissioners on the case
BEN VOCKING (a.k.a. “Ben King“), the good friend and then-co-worker of Former Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT
ANTONIO CARLO, one of several defense lawyers to Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT

On 6-11 ARUBAN Police commissioner VAN DER STRATEN was asked by a DUTCH journalist if he had any hopes for a positive outcome? STRATEN replied, “You always have to be hopeful, but I don’t believe anymore that we will find Natalee alive.” When asked why not, STRATEN replied, “Because I know the details of the investigation and you don't!”
On 6-11 the DUTCH Judge for the court hearing was the usually working on Curacao criminal judge DICK van den BRINK. Came to Aruba from Curacao; “This is done to prevent any impression of preference treatment,” confirms President of the Common Court of Appeals of Justice of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba, Luis de Lannoy. Since Current Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT was a judge-in-training at the time. (he no longer is)
PAUL REYNOLD’s stated to CNN on July 15, 2005, “And back on the confession. You know, what was reported is somewhat vague. But the deputy commissioner report of the Aruban Police, reported the boys were talking that Friday night (6-10). The next morning (6-11), the chief spokesperson for the minister of justice was reporting that Natalee was dead. The F.B.I. had even intimated to my sister that they thought Natalee was probably not alive based on what the boys were saying. So we're confident they were saying something. We don't know exactly what it was.”
On 6-11 CNN reported that HOLLY BROWN was at “Carlos 'N Charlie's" on 5-29/30, and CNN reported further, “Holly Brown, a Holloway friend who was at the club that night, said she found van der Sloot to be ‘very different.’ ‘He lied about his age, and when we went on the [“Carlos 'N Charlie's”] web site, we found pictures of him there one week before at the same place, wearing the same clothes.’”
On 6-11 CNN reported:

Three young suspects to remain in custody
Conflicting reports over confession in teen's disappearance
ORANJESTAD, Aruba (CNN) -- A judge has ruled to keep in custody three young suspects arrested earlier this week in connection with the disappearance of an Alabama teenager, a government official said.
The decision allows Police and prosecutors eight days to continue their investigation into 18-year-old Natalee Holloway's disappearance, the official said.
The judge was flown in from the neighboring island of Curacao, a step not considered unusual in high-profile cases, Aruba government spokesman Rueben Trapenberg said Saturday. He explained that government officials want to ensure everything is done properly.
Two security guards were arrested last Sunday, based on Police statements made by the three young men. None of the five men have been formally charged.
"My client keeps on saying he is not guilty," said attorney David Kock, who represents 18-year-old Satish Kalpoe. He added that as far as he knew, none of the three have admitted guilt.
Kock said, "There's a girl missing, so everybody assumes that a crime has been committed."
Antonio Carlo represents Joran van der Sloot, the son of an Aruban judge. Carlo said the teen "has admitted to no crime whatsoever. My client has maintained that he is innocent."
Asked how van der Sloot was faring, Carlo said, "He is a 17-year-old boy. His detention is, of course, having an effect on him emotionally, but he is holding strong."
He said van der Sloot had been in contact with his mother and was assisting in the investigation. Both attorneys refused to comment on details of the investigation.
Van der Sloot , Kalpoe and Kalpoe's 21-year-old brother Deepak were the last to be seen with Holloway. They were spotted leaving the popular Carlos'N Charlie's nightclub in the early hours of May 30.
A senior Police official told CNN there had been "a breakthrough amounting to a confession, or some sort of confession" in relation to the case, but did not say who made it.
Prosecutors refused to confirm or deny reports of a confession.
Law enforcement sources close to the investigation said there has not been a confession, but that cracks are appearing in the three suspects' stories.
Spokeswoman Vivian van der Biezen said only that the investigation was at a "very crucial" point.
Aruba Prime Minister Nelson Oduber said no one had informed him of a confession, but noted that type of information is not something he would learn of during this stage of investigation.
He said early Saturday that there was no search for a body or remains.
"Investigators will continue early in the morning doing their job," Oduber said.
Late Friday, a senior Police official told CNN that one of the three youths Police took into custody Thursday had confessed to killing Holloway.
The Mountain Brook, Alabama, resident was in Aruba with more than 100 classmates and seven chaperones celebrating high school graduation.
Casino meeting
Police said van der Sloot met Holloway May 29 at the casino in the Holiday Inn where she was staying.
Later that night, Holloway went to Carlos'N Charlie's with about 40 of her classmates. She left around 1:30 a.m. on May 30 with the Kalpoe’s and van der Sloot, authorities said.
Police said the Kalpoe’s and van der Sloot told authorities they then went with Holloway to a beach before taking her back to her hotel at about 2 a.m.
The men claimed they visited a lighthouse on the northwestern tip of the island, which is about 19 miles long and 6 miles wide.
According to Police statements, the Kalpoe brothers described her as stumbling on the way into the hotel, possibly as a result of alcohol, and that a "dark-colored" man in a black T-shirt with a radio helped her.
Two arrests
That testimony led to Sunday's arrest of Abraham Jones, 28, and Mickey John, 30, two security guards at a hotel near where Holloway was staying.
But a Holiday Inn employee who has reviewed surveillance tapes from that morning said the tapes do not show any sign of Holloway. Authorities had no explanation and were looking at whether the five men have any connections to each other.
Attorneys for the two men say they are innocent. Chris LeJuez, who represents Jones, said he will file an appeal Monday morning if his client isn't released by then.
Jones, he said, does not know the three young men or Holloway.
As part of the Netherlands Kingdom, Aruba follows the Dutch judicial system, under which suspects are arrested on suspicion of a crime and not charged until later.
Government officials have said solving Holloway's disappearance is a national priority on the small Caribbean island where tourism is a top industry.
A massive search operation has involved authorities, family, friends and volunteers.
CNN's Karl Penhaul and Rick Sanchez contributed to this report.

On 6-11 ARUBAAN’s news-source “Aruba Today” reported:

Set the record straight on the war on drugsDear Mr. O’Reilly,As an international organization based in Aruba dealing with sustainable development AND human rights, we have a keen interest in all matters related to international and transboundary organized crime, which includes money laundering, drug trafficking and trafficking of humans, particularly in the Caribbean region, where we are based. The quote you made about Aruba being a transshipment center for Colombian drug cartels is no longer as valid as it was ten years ago. If you took the time to check with the US Southcom Command, responsible for the Forward Operating Locations (in Curacao and Aruba), which since The Dutch Kingdom and the USA signed into effect in 2000 the treaty establishing the basis for joint strategic operations from these bases and the advent of the Coast Guard for the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba, you would have found out that the combined effect of both has been of a strong deterrent for Colombian cartels to use these two islands for transshipment of cocaine and/or Colombian grown heroin. As a human rights organization we are acutely aware of the devastating effects money laundering and drug trafficking can have on the quality of the “rule of law” and good government, however these have improved considerably in both Aruba and Curacao, and in particular within the judicial system, when the prosecution of perpetrators is involved.
The US Government has expressed its trust and confidence in its Dutch Caribbean counterparts and is currently building a 1.5 acre full-fledged FOL complex in Aruba at the cost of several million dollars to expand its Forward Operating Location operations from the island of Aruba. This further ads to the deterrent effect.Mind you, as a human rights organization we were dead set against the creation of the FOLS, and are on record as having protested vehemently against the FOLs, but since 9/11 we have seen the positive deterrent effect the FOLs have as a deterrent on drug trafficking. Our point of view on the whole issue of the effectiveness of the war on drugs as envisioned by the DEA and US administration is more or less the same.As a human rights organization we are a natural counterpart of the press in general, not by choice but by the common interests we serve in providing truthful, unbiased and uncensored information on any wrongdoing that effects the rights of the individual, groups, the community at large or the institutions themselves that constitute the basis for democratic rule.Having said this, we do however also have the obligation to ensure that the freedom of press and speech are upheld, BUT ALSO to ensure that the press itself DOES NOT FALL PREY to politically or otherwise inspired distortion of the truth or misrepresentation of the facts. This brings us back to the fact that FOX and your person have misrepresented the facts and are fanning the flames of the fire of a budding anti-Aruba campaign. We feel you owe the Aruban community, the Aruban Government and the Aruban tourism industry an apology. Such an apology would be best presented by doing a follow-up on the item in which you misrepresented the facts, and by shedding some light on the FOLS andthe joint US/Dutch Kingdom efforts to stem the flow of drugs and drug trafficking. The problem with drugs in Aruba is like that of any other popular tourism destination, where drug peddlers will always be around catering to those who want to have a “wild holiday” experience. You owe it to the American public, who pay the tax dollars building the FOL in Aruba, to Aruba at large and to yourself and your network to maintain your professional integrity and high standards of news reporting.I trust you and/or your staff will have the courtesy to spend some time to reply to this email, as I have done in taking the time to address you in a formal, factual, frank and direct manner.Sincerely,Milton Ponson, PresidentRainbow Warriors Core Foundations

It was reported that the telephone number the ARUBA Police had provided for tips about NATALEE’s vanishing contained the pre-recorded message,
“There is nobody here to take your call. Call back later.”
During repeated calls every day over several weeks, no one ever answered the phone, and the message never provided the caller an opportunity to have a tip recorded.

On 6-12 DUTCH news-sourced “Hasibokos” reported:

More proof against Joran: Dark clouds hang above the head of Joran van der S.
There has been more proof that the 17-year old son of a Dutch judge had something to do with the disappearance of the American student Natalee Holloway in Aruba. Joran is one of the last persons to see the 18-birthday girl alive.
She went missing during a school trip to the Caribbean island. Joran was the first one to be heard as a witness, but since Thursday he has become a suspected facing charges for murder, manslaughter and abduction with the dead as consequence.
Also his two Surinamese friends, Satish and Deepak K., were arrested. Sources, that have seen excerpts of the declaration of the Surinamese brothers, affirm that Joran and Natalee kissed on the back seat of the car. There has been also some sexual activity between them. Meanwhile blood tracks have been found in the car.

On 6-12 at about 12:30 PM, FOX News reported that blood had been found in the trunk of Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE's car.

Beth Twitty, mother of Natalee Holloway, an Alabama high school graduate who disappeared while on a graduation trip to Aruba, is embraced by her husband at the Holiday Inn in Palm Beach, Aruba.Updated: 11:05 p.m. ET June 12, 2005ORANJESTAD, Aruba - The mother of a missing Alabama teenager said Sunday that she believes three young men who were with her daughter the day of her disappearance know what happened to her.Beth Holloway Twitty, 44, said Aruban authorities should pressure the young men to reveal what they know. She also said she thought that two former hotel security guards detained in connection with the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway were innocent and should be released.“All three of those boys know what happened to her,” the teen’s mother said during a 45-minute interview with The Associated Press in her hotel room at the Holiday Inn, the same hotel where Natalee Holloway was staying before she disappeared on May 30. “They all know what they did with her that night.”Holloway Twitty declined to say what she thought the boys had done or whether she thought her daughter was still alive. The three young men — the son of a Dutch justice ministry official and two Surinamese brothers — have told police they brought Natalee Holloway to a lighthouse beside the island’s Arisha Beach, but didn’t get out of the car. The brothers, Satish Kalpoe, 18, and Deepak Kalpoe, 21, also told police that Natalee and the Dutch boy had been kissing in the back seat of the car. They said they dropped her off at her hotel about 2 a.m. and last saw her being approached by a man in a security guard uniform before they drove off, a lawyer for the brother’s has said. The three young men were detained on Thursday. Two former hotel security guards who worked at a hotel not far from the Holiday Inn have been detained since June 5.Holloway Twitty said she met the three young men within 12 hours of Natalee’s disappearance and she said it surprised her that it took authorities more than a week to detain them.Authorities have said they are pursuing all leads, while Prime Minister Nelson Oduber has said that “no one stands above the law” on the island.Natalee Holloway vanished hours before she was expected at the airport following a five-day trip to the Dutch Caribbean island with 124 classmates and seven chaperones celebrating their graduation from Mountain Brook High School, near Birmingham, Ala. Her U.S. passport and packed bags were found in her hotel room.Defense lawyers for the former security guards said there wasn’t enough evidence to continue holding them.“This is turning into a game, an illogical investigation,” said Noraina Pietersz, the attorney representing Antonius “Mickey” John, 30. John and Abraham Jones, 28, had been detained a week as of Sunday, and have denied any connection to Holloway. “The prosecution is pretending it has information that we don’t have.”Attorney General Caren Janssen said Sunday that wasn’t the case but declined to give details. “We are still in the middle of an investigation,” she said.A confession reported by a police chief and its subsequent retraction by the attorney general fueled rumors of the young woman’s demise. The family has said no body has been found, and islanders and tourists attended church services Sunday to pray for the teen.Valerie Stanton, a 35-year-old computer technician visiting from Washington, D.C., prayed Sunday at the Alto Vista chapel outside the capital. “This could happen in any city and it’s unfortunate a dark cloud is now over the island because people here are so nice,” she said.At the Santa Ana Catholic church in the town of Noord, also outside the capital, the Rev. Rudy Lampe told about 300 parishioners to “pray to give the family an oasis of peace.”“Today we stand with the family of Natalee,” Lampe said. “This is the first time something like this has happened on our island so we are all in shock.”A couple of pictures of Holloway were posted at the entrance to the church. Back home in Mountain Brook, Ala., residents also attended services to pray for Natalee and scribbled notes of support and concern on a special dedication wall.

Prosecutors have said little about where the case stands now.On Saturday, prosecutors refused to comment on a statement by the deputy police commissioner, who reportedly said one of three young men in police custody had told police Friday night that "something bad happened" to Holloway.Referring to that statement, a prosecution spokeswoman said, "We neither confirm nor deny any information coming from other sources."A statement from the office of Attorney General Caren Janssen late Saturday said, "Information given by non-official sources jeopardizes the ongoing investigation and creates expectations and situations that are not based on fact. Aruba police silent on any findings
Reticence forces family to say no body was found
The Associated PressTucson, Arizona Published: 06.12.2005ORANJESTAD, Aruba - The news from a police chief that "something bad happened" to a missing Alabama honors student when three young men took her to the beach after a night on the town fueled tension and rumors Saturday, forcing the woman's family to announce that no body had been found.
Natalee Holloway's family rushed late Friday to California lighthouse, an old stone beacon beside Arisha beach where three young men arrested in the case said they took the 18-year-old in the early hours of May 30, after a night of dancing and drinking."I knew she wasn't there," said her stepuncle, Tom "Jar" Twitty, who went to the lighthouse after the statement by Deputy Police Commissioner Gerold Dompig. Dompig told The Associated Press that one of three young men arrested in the case admitted "something bad happened" to Holloway and was leading police to the scene.
Police would not say Saturday if they discovered anything overnight to lead to Holloway, who was last seen in the early hours of May 30.
Prosecutors refused to comment on Dompig's statement, and Dompig himself refused to identify which of the three young men who took Holloway to the northern beach the night she went missing made the statement.
Carla Caccavale, a spokeswoman for Holloway's family, told the AP: "The family confirms that a body has not been found."
Islanders have been angered by television reports and TV features that they say portray an island with one of the lowest crime rates in the Caribbean as a center of drug and alcohol abuse.
"It's weird when things like this happen," said Tony Ponson, 42, who was among 20 locals outside a courthouse where a judge ruled in a private hearing Saturday that police have grounds to continue detaining the three young men on suspicion of murder and kidnapping.
"We like tourists, tourism is the main pillar of our economy, whatever happens we want to show the world we care about people," Ponson said.
His concern reflected tensions that always arise when a location dependent on tourists for income is cast in a bad light. Prime Minister Nelson Oduber said on national radio Friday night that if something happened to Holloway, it would damage the reputation of this island of 97,000 people, which is considered one of the safest spots in the Caribbean.
A judge ruled Saturday that the detention of the three young men arrested Thursday - two Surinamese brothers and the 17-year-old Dutch son of a high-ranking island judicial official - was legal under suspicion of murder, and capital kidnapping, the lawyer of one of the Surinamese brothers, David Kock, told the AP.
Police also have detained two other men - former security guards at a hotel near the one where Holloway was staying. No one has been charged in the case. Both former security guards deny any connection to Holloway.
Holloway's mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, is feeling the strain, her brother-in-law told the AP as prosecutors prepared to make a statement Saturday morning. Tom Twitty said: "She has had amazing stamina up until now."

On January 16, 2006 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY shared with FOX News further entries to her timeline/journal. BETH stated the search today caught NATALEE’s Loved Ones by surprise. No ARUBAN called the family about the search and she only learned of it when FOX News happened to make some phone calls to ARUBA earlier in the day. BETH stated the lighthouse dunes has “always been a suspicious area,” including when DAVE HOLLOWAY observed some suspicious activity in the lighthouse/dunes area on June 2, 2005, just before the DUTCH Marines conducted their first search there. BETH referred to Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT mentioning the lighthouse/sand dunes area in his statements/confessions and “the area of the sand dunes just becomes very suspicious in his statements.” In his first Police statement “When Joran gets to the point where he mentions the sand dunes, there are no more details. It ends abruptly, and then he comes up with the elaborate story of how he drops her off at the ‘Holiday Inn,’ she falls, bumps her head, the two security guards come up, so, it’s always been an area of concern of the family.” BETH stated that NATALEE’s Loved Ones have known “as early as June” about the fishermen’s huts being broken into and a large filet knife was stolen, but BETH did not learn until July about the large fish trap also being stolen from the fishermen’s huts. BETH stated they know about KOEN GOTTENBOS, who is Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s “really good friend” and GOTTENBOS’s father owning a boat even being mentioned in Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s “first statement he gives to Police.” “Someone else who really concerns us is Steven Croes, who has access.” “For some reason--Steve Croes--he did not just come forward to protect Joran. He has some information. I mean, he came forward as a witness, they determined he was lying, and THEN he became a suspect in Natalee’s case. What information he had? Whether he had access to a boat that night? Yes, it is very, very possible these boys had done something with her body, in the water--absolutely.” From her detailed journal BETH stated that on 6-10 the F.B.I. told NATALEE’s Loved Ones that it looks like NATALEE may not be alive because the 3 Main Murder Suspects were “beginning to implicate each other, and they were not denying the crime, and they were finger-pointing at each other.” From her detailed journal BETH stated that on June 12, 2005 DAVE HOLLOWAY became aware that a woman teacher at Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s school had reported on the telephone hotline that a school peer of Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s “had divulged what van der Sloot had done to Natalee. This teacher reportedly called the hotline, and was trying to tell the officials that Joran had confessed to this peer at his school what he had done to Natalee.” BETH does not know if this woman teacher was ever interviewed, or not, by the ARUBAN Police. From her detailed journal BETH stated that on 6-16 NATALEE’s Loved Ones received information from “a spokesperson” about a Murder Suspects time discrepancies--Former Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT was arrested 6-22 because he had originally told the ARUBAN Police he had picked up Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT from 4:00 AM from “McDonald’s” on 5-30, but later Former Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT changed the, supposed, “McDonald’s” pickup time of Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT to 11:00 PM on 5-29. When FOX News asked if any explanation has ever been given, by anyone, as to why Former Murder Suspect PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT changed the “McDonald‘s“ pickup time from 4:00 AM to 5 hours earlier at 11:00 PM, BETH stated, “No, but Jan van der Straten knew--he knew--that Paulus van der Sloot had changed this time pickup, and that is why he was arrested. That is solely why Paulus van der Sloot was arrested.” From her detailed journal BETH stated that on 7-11 BETH had a meeting with ARUBA Prosecutor KARIN JANSSEN where JANSSEN said that the ARBAN Police have documented records that Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT made a cellular phone call and text-messaged a message to Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE's computer at his home at 3:30 AM on 5-30. Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s 3:30 AM text-message simply was “Thanks. I’m home.” (BETH does not know how Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT was able to return home) ((recall BETH’s 9-15 statements to the NBC TV show, “Dr. Phil.”---On 9-15 BETH stated that in one of Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s statements to ARUBAN Police, Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT claimed, "Well, when I hear them speaking of they're trying to decide whether Natalee has been raped or kidnapped,” Beth says “I have read, I've had translated to me Joran van der Sloot's statements. And one of his statements that I found was huge, and this was the one that he gave on June 13 at 8:30 in the morning, and he now states that this is the truth, quote, this is Joran saying 'Now here's the truth. Now I want to tell you the truth. I drove Natalee — We drove Natalee to my home at 1:40 a.m. I want her to come in. I have sex with her. Next’ — and remember in all his statements she's coming in and out of consciousness — next he says that then he took her to the beach, he took her to the fisherman's hut. And then he calls Deepak at 3:30 a.m. to come pick him up from the fisherman's hut. Deepak comes. And Deepak says, ‘Don't fuck with the bitch. Let's go.’ (BETH actually said "Don't 'f' with the 'b'") Every statement that he gives, like I said, so sexually explicit and graphically detailed of what he does to her. It just is amazing to me that he can even admit to having sex with her. And that's not a crime?")) ARUBA Prosecutor KARIN JANSSEN also told BETH that there was an 8-and-a-half minute call between Prime Murder Suspect JORAN VAN DER SLOOT ’s cellular phone and Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE's cellular phone--the longest cellular phone call ever recorded between the two boys cellular phones. “We were never able to find out what time that phone call took place, or any of the conversations that were disclosed--that they [the ARUBAN Police] knew this was significant because this had never taken place before, and I don’t know what eighteen, or seventeen year-old and twenty-two year-old boy are going to have an eight-and-a-half minute cell phone call, on the very night that they took Natalee.”
On June 15, 2005 CNN reported:

Freed guard: Murder Suspect 'holding back'ORANJESTAD, Aruba (CNN) -- Police searched an area in Aruba near a Marriott hotel Tuesday, more than two weeks after 18-year-old Natalee Holloway disappeared and a day after two security guards were released from custody.Three men remain in custody in the case -- none of them formally charged and each claiming innocence through their attorneys. They are brothers Satish Kalpoe, 18, and Deepak Kalpoe, 21, and their friend, Joran van der Sloot, 17, the son of an Aruban judge.CNN's Anderson Cooper spoke Tuesday with one of the security guards, Mickey John, 30. He said Deepak Kalpoe confided in him while the two were jailed and admitted lying to Police about dropping Holloway off alone at her hotel, a "Holiday Inn," in the early morning hours of May 30.According to Police statements, the Kalpoe brothers said a "dark-colored" man in a black T-shirt with a radio helped her. The security guards were arrested June 5.ANDERSON COOPER: Mickey, what did this suspect in custody, Deepak Kalpoe, tell you about what really happened?MICKEY JOHN: He told me that -- I was talking to him Sunday [June 12, 2005; my insertion] -- and he told me that when they left Carlos 'N Charlie's [nightclub], they went straight to the lighthouse. He -- Deepak -- was driving. His brother was sitting in the car next to him. The missing girl was in the backseat behind Deepak, and the other guy was in the backseat behind his brother, and they drove down to the California lighthouse. He didn't tell me what took place at the lighthouse.COOPER: Now, the lighthouse, that's obviously on the beach?JOHN: The lighthouse is at the end of island. It's not close to Marriott. It's far from the Marriott. ...COOPER: He didn't say what happened then?JOHN: No, sir. He said -- what he told me [was that] on his way back up they stopped ... close to the Marriott and they dropped off the missing girl and the Dutch guy ... and he and his brother went home. And he went online, and like, after an hour later, the Dutch guy sent him a message, a text message on his cell phone, saying that when he got home he'd also go online to chat with him.COOPER: Did he say anything about the way the Dutch guy, Joran, was behaving with Natalee? Was there some talk that they had been intimate while driving?JOHN: No, he said there was kissing in the backseat. She was very, very drunk. I could recall he said that.COOPER: Did he say what he thought had happened?JOHN: No. He didn't emphasize on that.COOPER: Did he tell you why he lied to Police?JOHN: Yes, because he said that normally, like, when tourists, somebody, come here and they get lost, a few days after that, they're going to be recovered, you know, at some crack house or with some beach bums. ... But, push comes to shove and nothing was coming out, he decided to tell the truth with his brother to the armed Police.COOPER: He told you that he lied to Police because he thought she would show up a couple of days later in a crack house or somewhere else?JOHN: Correct, sir.COOPER: Had you ever met any of these three young men? These three suspects?JOHN: No, sir. Never.COOPER: Did he apologize to you because he originally implicated you and your colleague?JOHN: Yes. He did apologize. He apologized and told me he's sorry ... and that the day [they had] been arrested, which was a Thursday, he thought I should be released, and my colleague, the following day ... because he knew we were innocent from the start.COOPER: Do you think this guy, Deepak, knows more than he told you? Do you think he really knows what happened to Holloway?JOHN: I don't know what I think. He's holding back something. I don't know if he knows exactly what happened to her, but he's holding back something, I think.COOPER: What makes you think that?JOHN: Because he didn't tell me what happened at the lighthouse and according to the news, they are giving different stories.

RELATEDLY, Here is the entire transcript of the June 28, 2005 FOX News interview of MICKEY JOHN wherein he describes his jailhouse conversation with Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE that occurred on June 12, 2005:

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: Tonight, stunning new information could show Police made a serious mistake in the Natalee Holloway (search) investigation. Earlier today, we spoke with Mickey John, one of the former security guards who was arrested and then later released. He told us some shocking stories about what he learned while he was behind bars.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
VAN SUSTEREN: So, Mickey, when you got picked up, did you ever think that you'd be getting out?
MICKEY JOHN, FORMER SUSPECT: Yes, I was positive. I knew I'd be out. Sooner or later I would be out because I knew I was very innocent. All the way I know I was innocent, 150 percent innocent.
VAN SUSTEREN: So what happened? Were you home and the Police suddenly showed up?
JOHN: Yes, I was home sleeping around 6:20 (INAUDIBLE) morning. (INAUDIBLE) showed up, bust the (INAUDIBLE) I heard said, "You're under arrest." Nobody read my rights, nobody said nothing. All this commotion the Police said to me that, "You cooperating, we cooperate with. You're under arrest. That's it, let's go."
VAN SUSTEREN: What was the first thing they did when you got to the Police station? They put you in a cell, or they talk to you?
JOHN: No, they talked to me. Put me sit down, maybe handcuff (INAUDIBLE) after the guy say, "You know why you're here. You're for the missing girls. And now we're going to read your rights to you and you will sign it" (INAUDIBLE)
VAN SUSTEREN: At some point, Deepak was brought in to the same facility, Deepak Kalpoe (search), right?
JOHN: Yes.
VAN SUSTEREN: Ever know him before?
JOHN: I never saw him before, never in my entire life. I never saw him before.
VAN SUSTEREN: Had you ever heard of him at that point, that there was someone else who might be picked up in this case?
JOHN: Well, before I was locked up, I heard the news that there was - - the girl was last seen with three guys, which is two Suriname guys and the Dutch guy. So I knew there was at least three people more involved in this case, which should be picked up in the first instant, because they were last seen with the girl.
VAN SUSTEREN: So you were picked up on Sunday, Deepak picked up within the following Thursday, is that right?
JOHN: I guess so. Yes, more or less, yes.
VAN SUSTEREN: Between Sunday and Thursday, were you able to get any outside information about what was going on in the case, or were you just simply in the cell and interrogated from time to time?
JOHN: They just interrogated me the Sunday and the following Monday. And that was it. I was just locked up. And only I could see anybody. And my lawyer came to me and that was it.
But then Deepak came, and he introduced himself as Deepak. And he said he was being picked up for the missing girl. I felt relief, because I know I can throw a few questions from him to see if I get something from him.
VAN SUSTEREN: Do you think Deepak knew who you were?
JOHN: No (INAUDIBLE) never knew who he was, because he certainly was calling me Jamaican. He thought I was from Jamaica. So he was just talking to me freely and, you know, no problem.
I spoke to him more, and I tell him, "Tell me the truth," asking, "You saw the guy on the news?" He said, "Yes." I said, "Where the guy from?" He tell me, he think from Grenada. And right away, I knew he was talking about me, because I was the only one from Grenada.
So I decided to ask him a few more questions. And I said, "So you tell the guy (INAUDIBLE) what happened to the girl?" He said, "No." (INAUDIBLE) arrested on Thursday. I think a guy should be released that Friday, because, in their hearts, they know we were innocent.
He said a story being made up about dropping the girl of at a Holiday Inn, was all something being made up. He, and the Dutch guy, and the Dutch guy's father, they sit and made up the story.
VAN SUSTEREN: The father, too?
JOHN: All of them. They made up...
VAN SUSTEREN: Did he specifically say — Deepak specifically say to you the father was part of that?
JOHN: Deepak told me that he and the family sit down and they made up the story.
VAN SUSTEREN: So family and not father?
JOHN: Well, I don't know who the family consists of. But I know the father was involved, according to him. They made up the story, and they say that they didn't drop the girl off, because they said they would give the Police something to (INAUDIBLE) when somebody is missing in Aruba, they would find them a few days later by a crack house or with some beach bum or something.
So they made it up. But then, when push come to shove, and nothing was going on, he decided to tell his brother, "We're going to tell the truth and say exactly what took place," because he — I guess that much, he, by that time, he and the Dutch guy were saying different stories, so something wasn't going right.
VAN SUSTEREN: Did they say why they created the lie?
JOHN: Like I told you, they say like — they were hoping that something the girl would pop up or something, a few days after. And as I said, they drop her off at the Holiday Inn talking to a black guy, security guard dressed in black clothes. Said they know, like, everybody in public knows a tourist has been missing. They would find them a few days later, by, like I said, by some crack house or with some beach bum. So they made up something hoping that she would show up a few day and then they say, "OK, it all good. There she comes."
VAN SUSTEREN: But under the now story, which is that they dropped the Dutch teen and Natalee off at the beach, Deepak and Satish hadn't done anything wrong. So why did they need a cover story?
JOHN: Well, I don't know. I think these people, they have a plot together. He, as you can see (INAUDIBLE) so they, together with the Dutch guy, decide, "Maybe we can plan something," because they were together — they left the nightclub together. They were together.
The wouldn't say what happened with the girl, if he had fought with the girl. But they said they weren't — he told me they went to the California lighthouse. On their way back, they dropped the Dutch guy with Natalee close to the Marriott Hotel. He and his brother, Deepak [said], they went home.
VAN SUSTEREN: How certain are you that that your memory is correct that the family or the father was involved in creating this cover-up story?
JOHN: Well, he told me — he, all of them, sit and make up the story. He, Dutch guy, and the family. He told me they made up a story that they said they dropped the girl off at the Holiday Inn. She was talking to a black guy, security guard specific, dressed in black pants, black top.
VAN SUSTEREN: So what percentage certain are you that he said family or father that was involved in this?
JOHN: He said family.
VAN SUSTEREN: So you're certain?
JOHN: I'm certain.
VAN SUSTEREN: Did he ever mention any text messages or e-mails?
JOHN: No. He only said that, while he was home, he went on his computer to chat with some friend. And the Dutch guy sent him a text message on his cell phone saying that when he got home he would also chat with him online. So he said automatically this guy was still out at the time he and his brother was home.
VAN SUSTEREN: Did he say what that message said?
JOHN: No, he didn't. He just said — the message said that, when he got home, he would talk to him online. He didn't say anything else.
VAN SUSTEREN: How did he seem to be adjusting to being in jail?
JOHN: Well, to me, he was very, very calm. He spoke very calm. When they open my door to go out and see my lawyer, and passed the front of his cell, he was looking very calm. I would call him every five minutes and say, "Deepak, are you OK?" And he would say, "Yes, I'm OK." So he was very — looked relaxed to me.
VAN SUSTEREN: Didn't look worried?
JOHN: No, he was only stressed thing — he was only stressing that we would be out very soon, me, and he, and my friend who was locked up, and his brother. He was saying that, "We will be out very soon, and the Dutch guy he knew would remain in custody."
VAN SUSTEREN: He thought the Dutch guy would remain in custody?
JOHN: Yes, he said, "We would be out soon," but he told me the Dutch guy will remain in custody because he know he was the last — they dropped him off with the girl at the Marriott. And I think he's holding back something, the guy (INAUDIBLE) the father made up the story. He should know what took place.
VAN SUSTEREN: Did he say why he was willing to make up the story?
JOHN: Well, I guess they wanted (INAUDIBLE) maybe the Dutch guy have some power on them, they all friends, and the family stick and talk and say, "We're going to stick to that, and that's it," you know? Trade in some black guy, scapegoat, lock him up, I guess so.
VAN SUSTEREN: Anyone apologize to you?
JOHN: Not yet. Only Deepak, so far, in the jail. He apologize to me, tell me sorry because the story I was being locked up. Nobody else.
VAN SUSTEREN: So at some point, he realized who you were?
JOHN: I told him. I told him it was me, the security guard.
VAN SUSTEREN: What did he say when you told him who you were?
JOHN: He told me sorry, he was very sorry. And it is not because of their fault I was being locked up.
VAN SUSTEREN: Police ever apologize?
JOHN: Sorry?
VAN SUSTEREN: Did the Police apologize?
JOHN: No.
VAN SUSTEREN: Did the government of Aruba (search), anyone from the justice ministry, anybody like that apologize?
JOHN: Not yet, no. No one.
VAN SUSTEREN: Do you think you'll ever get an apology?
JOHN: I don't think so. I don't need their apology anymore, anyway.
VAN SUSTEREN: Anything else you'd like to say?
JOHN: Well, like I said before, the justice system, the detectives, they're all fools. They have to go to back to school. And they were used, like, a scapegoat, use, like, a black person in society to cover their mess.
So don't ever try it again with nobody, because they know we are innocent. And let justice prevail. And we know we will find the right person.

On January 2, 2006 BETH shared entries from her personal journal that has been documented as related to the disappearance of NATALEE. BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated to FOX News that on 6-12 an ARUBAN Police spokesperson, PAPITO (COMMENENCIA), told NATALEE’s Loved Ones that the ARUBAN Police had found evidence of blood in Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE's “Honda” car. The ARUBAN Police spokesperson said the ARUBAN Police were not 100% sure this substance was blood, but they do feel it was some sort of fluid, and the samples had been sent to HOLLAND for forensic tests. Nothing was heard about these samples sent to HOLLAND until 7-22, some 6 weeks later, when ARUBAN Police commissioner VAN DER STRATEN told NATALEE’s Loved Ones family liaison that the fluid found in the car is “unknown at this time,” but STRATEN also said that DNA was found in Current Murder Suspect DEEPAK KALPOE's car. On 7-25 STRATEN still had no update on the “blood” tests. On 8-5 ARUBA Prosecutor KARIN JANSSEN “said it was untrue. There is no material that can reveal DNA.” (the interview ended when FOX News cut to breaking news about the coal miners trapped in a WEST VIRGINIA coal mine)
On 6-12 ARUBAAN's news-source "Amigoe.com" reported, “Yesterday the rumours were going around that head prosecutor Karin Janssen would be replaced by Flanegin. The Dutch Lady would have been in bad graces with a part of the Police investigation team. District Attorney Theresa Croes-Fernandez denies this in the strongest possible terms: ‘Mrs Janssen does have the lead. That people send all sorts of untrue stories into the ether, is something that the JD finds very annoying, but we can’t be held responsible for this.’”
On 6-12 ARUBAAN's news-source "Amigoe.com" wrote, “The Judge is the usually working on Curacao criminal judge Dick van den Brink. He has already arrived in Aruba in the mean time. “This is done to prevent any impression of preference treatment,” confirms President of the Common Court of Appeals of Justice of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba, Luis de Lannoy. The father of one of the boys is a substitute judge. And every impression has to be prevented that the judge that is assigned is friends with the father of the boy.”
ODUBER gave an ARUBA nationally broadcast address to the nation speech on 6-12 asking for islanders help and saying everything that could be done, was being done.
On 6-12 Current Murder Suspect JOHN’s defense attorney PIETERSZ said, "This is turning into a game. The prosecution is pretending it has information that we don't have." Attorney General ARUBA Prosecutor KARIN JANSSEN said 6-12 that was not the case, but she declined to give details.
On Sunday, 6-12, SUNNY TILLMAN said, "The family is desperate, they've been made to be confused, and they need to have some answers." "They don't feel like they've been kept informed."
On 6-12 it was reported that ARUBAN Police officials and NATALEE's Loved Ones had been asked by the ARUBA Justice Ministry to stop talking to the press and give authorities time to complete their investigation, which they believe “will happen soon.”
On 6-12 FOX News reported that the F.B.I. has requested that the family of Natalee Holloway not talk to the press regarding the case, or talk to anyone else, for that matter, or so it appears. This is apparently being requested to somehow to prevent anything from damaging the ARUBA investigation, or a potential ARUBA prosecution. However, no official reason for the request was provided by FOX News.
On 6-12 the “St. Maarten News-The Daily Herald” reported, “According to the Kalpoe brothers’ lawyers, the three took Natalee to Arashi beach, where she and van der Sloot allegedly kissed and fondled in the back seat.”
On 6-12 FOX News GERALDO RIVERA reported "blood was indeed found in one of the vehicles" confiscated during the arrests. About the same time, CNN was reporting the substance in the vehicle turned out not to be blood. (perhaps the substance was NATALEE’s vomit --for whatever reason, possibly caused from a drug that was put in her drink without her knowledge. Authorities have never stated what the substance was)
On 6-12 BETH HOLLOWAY-TWITTY stated The Associated Press that she believes the three young men still being held in the case "know what happened to her" and that the two security guards should be released. Every day she walks among the ARUBAN people --young and old-- speaking with them about helping to find NATALEE, posting kidnapped and missing bulletins, handing out “hope” bracelets, prayer cards for NATALEE, and has investigated certain geographical areas on the island with her husband and their friends. Has consistently stated that the ARUBAN government and Police are telling them very little.
Throughout the emotionally wrenching ordeal, Holloway's family has publicly supported the efforts of island authorities, which have arrested five suspects in her disappearance early on the morning of May 30 after she left a local nightclub with three young men. On Sunday, 6-12, that support cracked. "The family is desperate, they've been made to be confused, and they need to have some answers," family representative Sunny Tillman said. "They don't feel like they've been kept informed."
On 6-12 ARUBAAN's news-source "Amigoe.com" reported:

The Justice Department (JD) on Aruba expects a break soon in the case of the disappearance of 18-year-old American girl Natalee Holloway. This is what the JD has announced during a short press conference Saturday morning. The JD did not confirm or deny that one of the three young media suspects in the mean time had confessed, as was reported by several U.S. media.
CNN and CBS quoted among others deputy Police commissioner Gerald Dompig. According to this source one of three boys that were arrested Thursday – Joran van der Sloot (17) and the brothers Satish (19) and Deepak Kalpoe (21)- would have brought the Police to the place where the student Holloway had perished. “Something bad has happened”, the suspect was quoted as saying.
CNN talked yesterday with Anita van der Sloot, the mother of Joran. She says that she is convinced that her son has told the authorities everything and that he is innocent. “He was willing to help with everything and told me ‘Mom, don’t worry, everything will be all right. I didn’t do anything’. He was very open with us and told everything that happened.” Joran also offered to speak to the family of Natalee Holloway, according to her.
EXPANSIONThe JD has expanded the leadership of the investigation team with prosecutor Amalin Flanegien. The investigation is getting bigger and time is getting an issue, now that there are suspects in custody.
Flanegin was sick until last Tuesday and had a criminal case on Thursday, which is why she was not available before.
Yesterday the rumors were going around that head prosecutor Karin Janssen would be replaced by Flanegin. The Dutch Lady would have been in bad graces with a part of the Police investigation team. District Attorney Theresa Croes-Fernandez denies this in the strongest possible terms:” Mrs. Janssen does have the lead. That people send all sorts of untrue stories into the ether, is something that the JD finds very annoying, but we can’t be held responsible for this.”
EXTENSIONThe judge commissioner [has been called judge of instructions by local radio station] has to bow over the question of the extension of eight days of the holding of the three young man that were arrest Thursday.
The Judge is the usually working on Curacao criminal judge Dick van den Brink. He has already arrived in Aruba in the mean time. “This is done to prevent any impression of preference treatment,” confirms President of the Common Court of Appeals of Justice of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba, Luis de Lannoy. The father of one of the boys is a substitute judge. And every impression has to be prevented that the judge that is assigned is friends with the father of the boy.
The lawyers had indignant responses to the arrests of their clients. David Kock, lawyer of the 19-year-old Satish Kalpoe: “According to me the JD doesn’t know it and they’ll just arrest. How can they say that they’re holding all opinions open en suspect my client of murder at the same time?” Rudy Oomen defends the 21-year-old Deepak Kalpoe: “It’s a mystery to me how you can arrest people without evidence. I have not seen anything yet that could point to a crime, but still my client is being accused thereof.”
The lawyer of Joran van der Sloot, Anthony Carlo, tells that the 17-year-old student of the International school looked tired Thursday evening. Carlo said Friday afternoon: “I have requested if I could be attending the interrogations, but the JD didn’t allow this. So I have only send the boy for a short moment after he was interrogated the whole day. I have not received any documentation and so I don’t know which evidence the JD thinks that they have. Those documents we often get late, just before the appearance [before a judge].”
According to Kock the arrests are being used to get more information of the three guys. Kock: “With arrest you can use certain enforcements that you don’t have otherwise. The JD says to have arrested the three out of tactical reasons, so I think that that’s the case.”
According to Oomen, Deepak Kalpoe, the eldest of the three, denies to have anything to do with the disappearance of Holloway. It seems that he cooperated with the Police from the very beginning. Oomen: “And now he appears with his face and full name everywhere in the press. It is a trial by media. Of course I find it very hard for the family of the girl, but what is done to the families of these three guys, and the three guys themselves is also terrible.”
Before the boys dropped allegedly dropped off Holloway at her hotel, they went to Arashi. At the beach van der Sloot and Holloway were allegedly fooling* around in the backseat [*‘vrijen’ cover a multitude of sexual acts, from kissing to having sex.], while the brothers Kalpoe were sitting in the front seat of the car. van der Sloot already knew Natalee from the day before when they would have met in the casino of the Holiday Inn.
The two brothers declared to the Police that Holloway was intoxicated and stumbled while leaving the car at the entrance of the "Holiday Inn." She was caught here by a black man with a black t-shirt and a black pair of pants with a walkie-talkie. This could be the reason why two guards of the empty Allegro Hotel were arrested last Sunday. The lawyers of these two men also deny that their clients have anything to do with the case. The judge of instructions has to decide Wednesday if there is enough reason to hold these two guards another 8 days.
HELPAruba can definitely get 4 days help of the 30 Dutch marines looking for Holloway. This has been confirmed by a spokeswoman of the Royal Marines in the Netherlands Antilles, residing in Willemstad, Curacao. Prime Minister Oduber of Aruba entered a request of military assistance to the main office of the Royal Marines on the Netherlands Antilles. The military are available from Saturday until Tuesday, if the local authorities cannot do the searches by themselves. This is the so-called ‘soft’ military assistance, where weapons won’t be used. Earlier seventy Dutch military personnel searched three days for Holloway. They did this without Aruba having to ask.
In total there have been five suspects arrested since Sunday. The other two suspects are the guards Nick John (30) and Abraham Jones (28) of a hotel in the area where the student stayed. They were arrested last Sunday. All five are accused of murder, manslaughter, or kidnapping with death as a result, or conspiracy to commit one of these acts.
There has been no trace of Holloway for two weeks. She disappeared at the end of a short trip to Aruba, together with schoolmates and chaperones. She was in the company of the three friends on Sunday May 29th, who according to their own statement dropped her off at her hotel after a night of partying. However, the next day she didn’t show up at the airport. In the meanwhile Aruba is filed with U.S. media. Tens of journalists have flown over to report on the case of the missing teenager. Authorities are afraid that the good name of their island as one of the safest in the region is being destroyed by the disappearance.

On 6-12 CNN reported:

WORLD
Aruba workers join hunt for missing teen
Two men charged as investigators search for Alabama student
ORANJESTAD, Aruba (CNN) -- Aruba's government employees today joined Police, Dutch marines and FBI agents in the search for 18-year-old Alabama student Natalee Holloway, who vanished a week ago on the Caribbean island.
Authorities said some searchers were focusing on the eastern tip of the island, the same area searched Sunday by Dutch marines.
The area is also near the oil refining town of San Nicolas, where two hotel security guards were arrested Sunday morning in connection to Holloway's disappearance.
The security guards were charged with crimes related to Holloway's disappearance but details of the charges have not been made public. Authorities will hold the men for at least two days, Aruba chief prosecutor Karen Janssen said Sunday.
Janssen also said she has requested FBI dive teams to help search craggy areas of Aruba's coast.
An FBI spokesman in Miami, Florida, said earlier reports that bureau divers would join the search Monday were in error, as was a report that its agents assisted in Sunday's arrests.
Seven FBI agents from Miami are in Aruba, including two divers and evidence collection and analysis experts, and one agent has come from Barbados, the spokesman said.
Police Chief Jan van Strantan said the two men arrested are security guards at the Hotel Allegro, which is near the Holiday Inn where Holloway was staying.
Police spent much of Saturday at the hotel, which is undergoing renovations.
At a Sunday news conference, van Strantan said Police and the FBI determined that bloodstains found on a mattress near the site of the men's arrests were from a dog.
Van Strantan said authorities have not found any of Holloway's possessions among items seized.
A tip led Police to the men, who were under "interrogation," and others may be arrested, Janssen said.
The men, ages 28 and 30, were not among the three men in whose company Holloway was last seen.
Holloway last seen leaving club
Holloway -- from the affluent Birmingham, Alabama, suburb of Mountain Brook -- was last seen about 1:30 a.m. May 30 leaving Carlos 'n' Charlie's, an Oranjestad nightclub.
Witnesses said she left in a car with three local men between the ages of 18 and 25.
Authorities said they talked to the three men who left with her. The men said they took Holloway to Arashi Beach before leaving her at her hotel about 2 a.m., authorities said.
Holloway's uncle, Paul Reynolds, said he was told security cameras did not show his niece returning to the hotel that night, according to an Associated Press report. Police declined to comment on that report, the AP said.
"We're still looking, we're still hoping she's alive," Rudie Soemers, Police night watch commander, told CNN.
Rewards and yellow ribbons
Holloway was on the trip to Aruba -- a self-governing island off Venezuela under the protection of the Netherlands -- with about 100 Mountain Brook High School students to celebrate graduation.
The girl's aunt, Marcia Twitty, said the Holloway family believes the parent chaperones on the Aruba trip did all they could.
Holloway is a straight-A student and a member of the National Honor Society and the school's dance team. She has an academic scholarship to the University of Alabama. (Profile)
A reward of $55,000 has been donated by the Aruban Tourist Board and government, Holloway's family and an anonymous donor.
The family has asked members of the Mountain Brook community to post yellow ribbons in her honor. In addition, area youths are making bracelets. Daily prayer services are being held for Holloway.
She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 110 pounds. People with any information are encouraged to call a tip line at 1-877-628-2533.
CNN's Karl Penhaul contributed to this report.
